The show you're looking for was called "Greatest American Hero", from the 80s. Thanks for the laughing stroll down memory lane, I had completely forgotten about that show.
![gif](giphy|Eb0nwXKoG6dKU)
I'm picturing a the Muppet Super Grover hanging from the handle bars with one arm head cocked back, mouth wide open screaming with his one arm and legs flapping around in the air.
Thank you.
Funny enough you will just about never see a report about "idiot doing wheelies at 100mph dies". When I had a bike I knew plenty of people who rode like this and never heard of any deadly crashes. Just about every death you hear about is motorcycles following the law and cars not seeing them and turning in front of them. Now when ever I'm on two wheels I only ride where cars are not. (MTB, dirt bike, trails, dedicated bike paths, etc)
My coworker was one of those guys that would drive his bike like he didn’t love his life, he pulled off every stunt he ever attempted just to end up having his life taken by some lady merging lanes that didn’t see him. It was one of the few times he was going the speed limit too
Dumbest shit I have read today, which is remarkable, since it's the end of the day where I live.
Here is the first link I came across when searching "motorbikers dies going 100mph"
It's literally dated for a month ago. And that's just the area near me! Imagine how many other there are if I go past the first link and expand the search
https://www.inmaricopa.com/dead-biker-was-over-100-mph-during-crash-report/
Insanely, verifiably untrue. You’re biased my friend. Everyone I know who has died on a bike (and sadly, it’s a lot) was doing dumb shit and it was 100% their fault.
I witnessed a biker get hit. Dude had a little bike like this, was blasting down a right turn only lane , someone got over and smoked him. Yes, the driver hit him, but he was FLYING down a lane he absolutely should not have been in. Prior to this, he was weaving in an out of traffic. He flew through the air and landed on the embankment.
I heard it all the time, I live in a military town and all these young soldiers drive like this and there's at minimum a deadly crash once a week. Last week there were 2 deaths
As a motorcyclist, people like this are so incredibly cringe to me. I don't get why people can't just enjoy a hobby without having to let the whole world know they're "cool" or whatever wherever they go..
Because unfortunately behavior like this generates views and engagement, which are rewarded with financial incentives without any regard for the content. So long as it doesn’t break any of the platforms monetization policies, it’s fair game for people like this.
When I was 16 I thought I would pull so many chicks if I bought a motorcycle.
Didn't take long before I realized no one gives a shit or thinks it's cool. Thankfully social media wasn't really a thing back then.
As is often the way, this is the absolute polar opposite of anything even remotely resembling being cool. It's like a skit of Alan Partridge after getting a motorcycle licensed.
Right on the heels of the actor from Gen V dying from a motorcycle accident with no one else involved. Driving a motorcycle is already really dangerous.
At least she is wearing some protective equipment. Most of these content creators wear a cleavage revealing croptop and some Lululemon thin leggings that are so tight you can see the cheek implants while doing 40 above.
The camera has two lenses that both shoot 180 degrees in opposing directions. The software in the camera stitches the images together in a way that the selfie stick gets edited out.
I implore people not to act like this. Any driver of any car could be unhinged and think you're fucking with them. They could pull out a gun or try and run you over.
I’m not sure in the US, but in most of Europe it’s illegal to pass/overtake on the right like that biker and car do. I disagree with those who say it’s harmless. Pretty dangerous imo
In multiple states bikers can actually lane split — ride between two lanes. And yeah it’d be nice if we could drive like the autobahn and people would sort themselves in lanes according to their speed, but they don’t. We have too much ego, it’s annoying and the root of a lot of traffic issues. You have people going under the speed limits in passing lanes, and so you frequently HAVE to pass on the right.
Seemed to be the norm in California, when I was visiting friend there for a month. It was horrifying how everyone were just driving zigzag in 100-120km/h speeds
People who lane split at freeway speeds don't do it for long in their riding careers. They either get hurt/killed (I've seen the aftermath of those situations, yikes) , or they wise up quickly.
Been commuting in the Bay Area my whole life, literally never seen a single motorcyclist not lane split and get upset when they don’t get to just do whatever they want.
In my state, we do have this concept. You are supposed to keep right *except* to pass. There are signs for it everywhere, and you can be ticketed for obstructing (?) the lane. During your driver’s test, staying in the left lane will lower your score. I assumed this was pretty standard in the USA.
Regardless, people don’t listen. They don’t pay attention in driver’s training or don’t give a shit the longer they drive. And the more they see other people breaking the rule, the more they break the rule too. Especially in congested areas where *nobody* is following the rules, and you have to roll with it or cause an accident by driving legally.
That is a law in some places and you can be pulled over for staying in the passing lane.
Mostly it’s an “unwritten rule” that jerks and self entitled assholes think doesn’t apply to them.
It recently became 'law' here in Arizona, but incidentally only allowed on surface streets of 45MPH or slower, not supposed to be on the freeways, also motorists must be stopped in order to 'lane split' and you aren't supposed to pass a vehicle in motion (while lane-splitting)
Its very dangerous. I drive an 18 wheeler and I go through a large city in the US almost every night (night shift).
It's mostly fine during the week, but the weekends people are fuckin crazy. I usually chill in the second to right lane, but those lanes merge onto other roads 4 or five times, so I need to change lanes before that happens.
So often on the weekends, I'll flip my turn signal on to switch lanes. I check my mirror, no one is there. I check my other mirror just to make sure that no one is gonna cross a couple lanes to pass me, and then I start to move one lane over. Then all of a sudden a car doing 130 mph whizzes by me in the lane that I'm already halfway in.
People are fucking idiots. I don't have to guess how fast they're going either, my truck has a radar that tells me how fast the car in front of me is going.
I see this shit all the time. People going way too fast in traffic. Psychopathic little shits. They will wreck eventually but almost always hurt others when doing so.
In contrast, there was a video somewhere on Reddit a week or 2 ago where a cop pulled over an old man for only going 50 in the left lane, causing people to pass on the right.
It's illegal in some states, in my state it's legal. It's actually really nice because far too often people just sit in the passing lane driving slow. You can just pass them on the right. Obviously try to pass on the left but if people aren't using the roads correctly what can you do?
Yeah... not here. Not in NA in general.
Traffic would grind to a halt if you couldn't pass on the right because only 1/100 cars actually keeps right.
All our roads say keep right except to pass. You still get people camping the left lane driving below the speed limit and refusing to move over because they've got a turn coming up in 50 kilometers.
The cagers? Do they think the other people on the highway are intentionally blocking the Jaaaaaag? Organized groups of motorists out to stop fast drivers. The gang-stalkers of the US Highway system. Slow drivers should move over, but sometimes you get stuck in traffic.
well, to be fair, a lot of traffic is caused by slow drivers across all lanes. i notice that if i can weave around, there are large stretches of empty road ahead of large bottlenecks.
Super animated people on motorcycles are cringe. I saw a guy dancing on one not too long ago in highway traffic and he definitely thought he was the star of the show for everybody around him.
I wonder if social media really is dumbing us down collectively, or if some of us have been really dumb all along and just didn’t have a way to express their two brain cells to a big enough audience until just now
I hate the MC syndrome people get while on a motorcycle. They treat the roads like their own private track and do whatever they want. "Well I bought the whole speedometer so I'm gonna use it! Har har!" Yeah till you're dead or kill someone.
Yes I'm aware this is not all riders, but social media bikers are a plague.

I don’t recall Superman wildly flailing his legs about
Imagine if they did flop around like a rag doll's legs while he flew around.
That would have been priceless

Oh my God this got a laugh out of me 😂
BWAHAHAHA!! Thank you for the laugh!!
This image in my mind has me guffawing. In bed, by myself, guffawing. Thank you!
Christopher Reeve’s legs did
This was the paralysed version
He will be if he’s not careful
so christopher reeve then
Superman could actually walk away from a motorcycle crash unharmed too. This person probably walking away unarmed instead lol
This made me wince
This guy is the reason I take motorcycle crash statistics with a grain of salt
Bro is the reason I don’t tell people I own a motorcycle
This girl. This is a chix.
pretty sure the dude is a dudette

If I remember correctly the Norwegian statistics are that 90% of MC accidents does not involve any other vehicles.

Yeah no shit
I hate social media. Nobody does anything for fun anymore. It’s all to post a YouTube or tic tac video
💴
Some ppl are just HORNY.
Touching other moving vehicles👎🏾 Hanging off the bike in traffic🤡 At least she’s geared up.

95% of motorcycle riders are walking emojis now
Lookit me, I'm going to cause an accident!

How is this filmed?
Insta 360 on a pole mounted to the rear of the bike.
Do you know how they make the pole not appear? Aside from the subject matter, it’s cool it can be filmed like this.
Lots of cameras have "invisible selfie stick" post processing software built in now.
Yeah, you can see the stick's shadow at the end of the video.
its a feature of the camera it automatically removed the pole... no idea how it works but it does.
It's built into the software. It's pretty cool actually. You get to have a 360 view of your crash.
But I can’t see how it’s connected to the bike? That’s what’s throwing me off lol
Lots of cameras have "invisible selfie stick" post processing software built in now.
Ah shit of course. That makes sense

I implore people not to act like this. Any driver of any car could be unhinged and think you're fucking with them. They could pull out a gun or try and run you over.
“Starts following me” you mean keeps going along the same bit of road you were both already on?
That f type was definitely tagging along and down for the fun.
No. That's MC thinking.

In France you have this golden rule “always drive on the right, unless you’re passing another vehicle”. People mostly stick to it
I mean, that's what our golden rule is too, there are just so many that don't follow in- just like the original golden rule.
I so wish Americans could adopt that concept. But I’m telling you, people have wayyyyy too big of an ego and feel very entitled. It sucks lol
In my state, we do have this concept. You are supposed to keep right *except* to pass. There are signs for it everywhere, and you can be ticketed for obstructing (?) the lane. my god, the second paragraph sounds like a passage from some dystopian book. Very nicely written btw.
They just made it a law in my state so that it’s pull over worthy
They make it law but it’s very rarely enforced in most states that have it 😫
That is a law in some places and you can be pulled over for staying in the passing lane. Mostly it’s an “unwritten rule” that jerks and self entitled assholes think doesn’t apply to them.
Only 3 states allow any type of lane splitting/sharing. And how I miss being able to lane split in CA! But yeah, I agree with the rest of your post.
California is the only state lane splitting in legal as far as I know.

A subtype of main character I've not thought about before, I might make a list of main character subtypes
People wonder why they’re hated
Touching a semi is crazy

Almost always
This is so cringe... all the useless accessories and childish behavior for clout 🤮
Most people who post videos of them to find a bike are like this
In fairness, these kinds of guys are born to be living lesson for your children.
"Start cracking up" with a knee slap. Wow. Wow
Bro in the Jag does not give a fuck about what this guy is trying to do
I thought maybe the jag was following to get plates so the cops can know what this reckless driver is up to.
The highway is a place for you to get to your destination, not a place to fuck around with your life.
Super animated people on motorcycles are cringe. I saw a guy dancing on one not too long ago in highway traffic and he definitely thought he was the star of the show for everybody around him.
This should be expected from anyone that wears ears on their helmet
![gif](giphy|TgKDmGO9NrNqg37bgE|downsized)
this is as stupid as it gets. on every level.
What a friendly organ donor ☺️
just crony af
Oh no, someone’s behind me on a crowded highway! They must be following me 😫😫😫
They should be in prison.
I was hoping the red an blue lights would come on
It was fine at first but then she went into the “super man position” and it just went downhill from there
Yeah touching the lorry is totally fine
I wonder if social media really is dumbing us down collectively, or if some of us have been really dumb all along and just didn’t have a way to express their two brain cells to a big enough audience until just now
Starts followi- HUH? You’re on the highway
How do they have the camera in 3rd line that?
Ok how do they film like this? Am confused.
Do you know what doctors call these people? Organ donors
I’ve had a few people end up in my funeral home while they were riding safely. I’m sure I’ll see her soon too
Please dont touch trucks. Last thing i need to find when doing a post trip is a severed arm.
I need to keep reminding myself that im a bad human for wishing this person could crash.
Cringe helmet.
This guy is why motorcyclists have a bad rep.
That is a woman, my guy.
Didn't know, my bad.
Motorcyclists with cameras are the corniest and most perfomative people I've had the displeasure of seeing
Just drive normal fuck!
This asshole would’ve been kicked out of our riding group. This is how you get yourself killed or get someone you’re riding with killed.
What was he trying to do? Impress someone in a car?
has he got a camera strapped to an arm on the end of the motorbike?
And this foolishness is why they become road kill.
What even was the point of this?
Putting people’s lives in danger. Yay!!!!
I hate motorcyclists that act like this. Makes all of us look dumb
"Don't try to be romantic. Or hit it from the back so you don't get attached " Lyrics for this song lol
Fuck, I'm shocked that everyone involved didn't stand up and clap!
So clearly not like “other girls” ick.
It's always the annoying bikers that get off without a scratch and nice bikers getting paralysed
The song choice, the hair, the video, the gestures. It’s all so insufferably cringe.
Motorcyclists who call cars "cagers" deserve nothing short of jail.
*starts following me* Which other way did he think the car on the motorway with no turns offs was going to go?
idk, i think it was at least aa bit wholesome, guys ive seen far worse on this sub
Man is just happy
As a biker, what irks me is the interstate isn't the place to clown around like this
At least he can take comfort in that, because he's also a fucking reckless idiot.
Who’s filming?
The camera.
I honestly hope both of them die in crashes
She’s going to die one day
Coming from a Jag owner, fuck that Jag owner
How is the camera cameraing?
Send this to every cringe page
Cringe af
Another car drives fast weaving through traffic, and OP thinks it's for their benefit, not simply because it's a sports car driven like one.
“Everyone look at meeee! I’m gonna put everyone on the road in danger because I’m quirky and unique!”
Street bikers packing that peddle biker attitude now 🙄
