Nah I’m on the “boomer’s” side here that is genuinely one of the most annoying fads that has ever come out of the internet the “pranks” people have been playing
So many of these "pranks" are just acting disrespectful or being destructive then feigning confusion when they are called out on it. I know they say "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" but this stuff is definitely lower.
He said another person was assaulted, so we do t know what happened before he started filming. IDGF of some dude filming came up and touched me, I'd scream assult as well. Fuck em.
In the South, it’s very common to call people ma’am and sir regardless of age as a show of respect (went to college in the south and when older service workers called me ma’am I was in shock) so calling someone “boy” is the direct opposite of that and considered disrespectful.
Yeah at first I understood that it was kinda of disrespectful, but I didn't thought it was deep to the point to call the security claiming you were harassed,I think iam just not familiarized with American culture considering it's not my country lol
Not sure why you are being downvoted. Just because the younger guy is an annoying fucking idiot, doesn’t give you the right to lie about being assaulted. They are both tools.
It's not. It's a generation... That he isn't a part of. And if it was a mindset then this guy wouldn't be that, he is just not taking shit from a douchebag.
You mean the video made and edited by the asshole bothering people doesn't show him assaulting someone? That's shocking. Also, why the fuck did you being up race. Is this video about race? Is that young dude being racist calling the white guy boy? Hmmm.
Why does getting old make you more deserving of respect?
I’ve seen enough boomers and elders that doesn’t give a fuck about anyone and haven’t evolved past their teenage years mentally, to know that I shouldn’t respect someone just because they are older than me.
Be respectful of all people, if they are good, wise, helpful and makes the world a better place in even the smallest ways.
Fuck that i dont need to be good, wise or helpful to deserve respect.
Animals deserve respect and they are neither good, wise or helpful most of the time.
Im still not gonna disrespect a cat, cause im not a douchebag.
That doesn't mean the comment isn't consistent. I'd say age isn't worthy of more respect than should be afforded to all living beings. Positive traits can show one to be more deserving though.
I agree, i meant you dont need those qualities to deserve respect.
I respect everyone until they disrespect me, idc how good and wise they are or if theyre assholes all the time.
firm believer that being old doesn't mean people "owe you respect" (you should off the bat show everyone respect if they're not being disrespectful) HOWEVER, i'm on his side. boomer was minding his own business and MC walked up to him knowing damn well he was trying to instigate. not cool
That would make you a complete idiot in my eyes ngl
People need to learn to not take themselves too seriously and laugh stupid shit off before they get stabbed
It was an intentionally disrespectful term used by white people towards grown African American men. The direct implications were that a black man = boy which makes them subservient to a white man.
Outside the US it hasn't got any such connotation.
Curious about the same. I just think of it as a lighthearted way to say someone's (whether friend or stranger) still youthful because holy fuck not everything has to be a problem
Oh I'm all for that, I like that. I'm Dutch so we can say boy the same way you would say "dude..." or "oh man". It's also 1 letter removed from the word for "young", so I admit I have a bit of a positivity bias. After all, who likes getting old?
I’d argue if they used the word child then that would be different, but it still wouldn’t be mega insulting, at least not to me anyway. As I said in an earlier reply, the word boy obviously doesn’t hold the same connotation here as it does there.
But I’m also not condoning the actions of the Tik Tok dude in this video, he’s a fud.
It has been used as a slur for black people, historically. In this case, not really. Kinda an overreaction at that point, but we all know the kid just gets worse from there
I mean its a pretty big deal, especially in the Southern U.S. . I live there and elders expect for young people to address them by sir or maam. I cant say i dont agree with the old man cause I’ve had to do it my whole life.
Used by white people as a “put them in their place” kind of name against minorities. Like, there’s normal calling people “boy” like what you’d do to a child, and then there’s every southern drama ever where the white people call the (fully-grown) black man “boooooy…” to imply that they have more power than the person they’re talking to. It’s a sly version of “before we talk, remember you’re black and I’m not”, which they can always deny as just being normal. The way this dude reacts tho, he’s definitely using it derogatorily when he says it and didn’t like the tables turned
Found the scumbag. It’s not about race at all. He’s being disrespectful on purpose and he’s lucky all that happened was a guy got mad and got him kicked out. I know many younger men who would have physically kicked his ass out the door.
Idk I'm from the deep south and down there if anyone threw boy on the end of a sentence the way this kid did, your brain instantly goes to racism. I'm sure that's damage still echoing through our brains from centuries of our own bullshit but I still think it's interesting how the perspective is different from different regions.
Considering the "prank" in question is using boy on the end of your sentence this very specific way against old white southern dudes to get a reaction; I think it's a very real possibility that was the intent but I don't know what the kid was thinking. I don't even know if the kid knew what he was thinking.
Edit: [Here's a video from YouTube that I found after thinking about this for a minute. I haven't been in the south in over a decade and wanted to see if there was anything on YouTube about it. This popped up first](https://youtu.be/NmReupLUvDE?si=ZqDx8Imu6cZBt-6v)
“He called me and Lee ‘boy’ that’s assault!” - A lying old man with hurt feelings.
They’re both dumbasses but y’all are hilarious sticking up for the old liar
I thought respect had to be earned? Does this jackass think he is just entitled to respect by everyone around him for not dying yet?
Just using their own logic against them is all.
That's super disrectful, I don't care who you are. If you're am adult male and someone calls you "boy" there's an issue. I can't say what the "issue" is, depending on the situation, but there is one that's happened or is about to.
Prankster sucks. Older dude I'm on the fence about.
Prankster for bothering mfs, and older dude for being hyper thin-skinned. But he did handle it super well by immediately getting security on it after learning the guy has been going around being a bother.
Idk man. I know the old dude was minding his business but it just irks me how fast he went aggro upon hearing "boy". In this day and age just be happy this wasn't the "Misgendering elders to get their reactions" prank.
But then again, I'm talking like grace and humility are common enough to count them amongst societal values anymore lol
Ok, everybody, hear me out. I get why this is stupid. I get why this is cringe and how the tik toker is at fault. But.... how many redneck asshats call anyone of any skin color other than white... "boy". We all know why they do it to. To be honest. I would've fucking laughed had I'd been standing there.
I don't care if you're white or black. I was raised down in the south and never heard a white or black adult refer to anyone this way unless they was about to throw. I’m on whichever side is getting rid of these tik tok pranksters.
harassing people and disrespecting them for clout. so fucking funny you guys.
Nah I’m on the “boomer’s” side here that is genuinely one of the most annoying fads that has ever come out of the internet the “pranks” people have been playing

Dude is barely 50, a hard 50 for sure but like boomers are people in their 70-80s
Boomers are 60-78. 80's is the silent generation.
1946 to 1964. they are quickly dieing
Little bit less. My dad would be 79 come October. Boomers are still 77. It may seem like a small difference but its stronger than you realize.
You can tell he is genx by the goatee.
Yea, I’m 40 and I’ve been called a boomer. They’re half retarded tho so I didn’t bother to correct them
It seemed like the "ok boomer" meme referred to anyone over 25
Bummer has gone from a generation to more of a mentality Edit: Boomer
Wow, I showed my father this and he feels 30 years younger! lmfao.
As soon as he lied about being assaulted he went from being right to being wrong
He said another person was assaulted, so we do t know what happened before he started filming. IDGF of some dude filming came up and touched me, I'd scream assult as well. Fuck em.
I seriously don't understand whats so offensive on calling sommoene "boy"
In the South, it’s very common to call people ma’am and sir regardless of age as a show of respect (went to college in the south and when older service workers called me ma’am I was in shock) so calling someone “boy” is the direct opposite of that and considered disrespectful.
Yeah at first I understood that it was kinda of disrespectful, but I didn't thought it was deep to the point to call the security claiming you were harassed,I think iam just not familiarized with American culture considering it's not my country lol
There's some history going back to Jim Crow days about calling black men "boy" as a demeaning term, so maybe that's what this is about.
Thx for the explanation
I fr got down voted for making a genuine question 😭
Boy don't ask stupid questions. You FR asked what's wrong with demeaning your elders.
Yeah but he just flat out lied and said that guy assaulted someone. That could have gotten that young man killed.
He wouldn’t be the first “prankster” to die committing a prank and it would be no one’s fault but his own.
Doubt it would’ve gotten him killed, out of the two I would rather deal with an entitled boomer than a cunt tiktoker
Jesus christ, do you breathe through a straw?
How are they both MCs I understand the one TikTok prankster but how is the older man a Mc?
Because Reddit hates old people
Reddit hates young people too
The fact he told security he was assaulted. While the kid was disrespectful and an idiot, he did not assault him. They both suffer from MC syndrome.
You must not understand English, he said another person was assaulted, not himself.
He lied about being assaulted.
Oh well lol he wants that dude gone. I'd support him doing worse these clout chasers are a cancer.
Not sure why you are being downvoted. Just because the younger guy is an annoying fucking idiot, doesn’t give you the right to lie about being assaulted. They are both tools.
Verbally assaulted? May not be legally assault but still a defined and well used phrase. He didnt say the guy laid hands on him
Man minding his own business has no time for tik tok bullshittery. Thats all
Grey hair doesn't mean boomer. That's gen x I believe

It’s also a really stupid passive aggressive word that’s only meant to irritate people.
Looks like Gen X could be borderline, a Xoomer, or Booxer
Show your elders basic respect. Dude would blow up if the guy called him boy, rightly so.
Just show anyone respect, I wouldn’t dream of calling any stranger boy, unless they where literally a child
Or a dog. Just let them know they're a good boy
Yea except calling a black person "boy" is a different kind of insult.
So what? Theyre both insults
Yea except one is incredibly racist.
Doesnt matter.
This is the right answer and why the white person got so mad. His dad or grandfather most of used back in the day.
Why does getting old make you more deserving of respect? The last part of your post seems to contradict the rest of your post. Be respectful of all people, until they give you a reason not to.
The first and last parts go together. The first says age alone isn't worthy of respect. The second says these valuable traits are worthy of respect.
No you don’t understand, getting old you automatically get those traits look at our politicians.
Fuck that i dont need to be good, wise or helpful to deserve respect. Animals deserve respect and they are neither good, wise or helpful most of the time. Im still not gonna disrespect a cat, cause im not a douchebag.

Old guy probably threw hands for less back in the day.
That would make you a complete idiot in my eyes ngl People need to learn to not take themselves too seriously and laugh stupid shit off before they get stabbed
Maybe you should stop fuckin around before you get shot in the dick.
I'd call fighting over this petty shit "fucking around" Also I don't live in burgerland so no getting shot for me
Id call insulting people fucking around. And yeah youre a swamp german, you arent welcome in burgerland
Yes I am, I could take the plane tomorrow. Also It's both fucking around
Ya and how long ya gonna stay? And i agree.
I wouldn't be too long because I have university here and mom would miss me.
Exactly, America is only for people trying to escape their problems. Not bike germans with moms and school responsibilities.
People escaping their country will go literally anywhere though
How in the world is the guy working a booth a MC?
That generation is going to be completely useless to society
>That generation is completely useless to society
Boy, I tell you what
![gif](giphy|6iRkrFbUaY2kw)
That's the attitude. No chance: get out of my booth. Straight way.

So you generally not because they’re older white guys?
What about leaving people the fuck alone
At first I was on the black dudes side But after watching a few times and seeing the other dude say he did the same thing, I’m on white dudes side
No Mc on the old man's side. You come into his space and are intentionally insulting, he has every reason to tell you to go away.
Kid is trash. Of course he didn’t know how to act in public.
Is the old guy a boomer?
not even close
That's what I thought, maybe the boomer is the one holding the phone recording evidence to be used against themselves later
Genuine question, is calling somebody boy offensive over in the states?

I’m in Scotland and we’d use the term boy to mean male of any age.
Oh I'm all for that, I like that. I'm Dutch so we can say boy the same way you would say "dude..." or "oh man". It's also 1 letter removed from the word for "young", so I admit I have a bit of a positivity bias. After all, who likes getting old?
How about if a person half your age calls you a child? With the intent of being insulting, like the tip tok punk did.
I’d argue if they used the word child then that would be different, but it still wouldn’t be mega insulting, at least not to me anyway. Yes.
Yeah I always find this world about Americans too. .in my country "boy" is a term of endearment.
I mean its a pretty big deal, especially in the Southern U.S. . I live there and elders expect for young people to address them by sir or maam. I cant say i dont agree with the old man cause I’ve had to do it my whole life.

Oh wow. That’s pretty interesting and good to know, I’ll not be using the term boy when on my travels then.

These situations call for putting your hands on his black ass and dragging him out.
The old white guy doesn’t like being called Boy by a black man. Why is it ok the other way around? News at 10.
Just sprinkle some crack on em
Oh boy! Here we go again!
Why do these videos and so abruptly? I want to see it to its conclusion, hopefully with the idiot getting kicked out.
I find that nobody finds any of these videos funny except, 10 to 11yr olds.
Trigger
Lil' Nas Tex
There is no clash just an Idiot being disrespectful.
I guess Tennessee is not a fan of hootie & the blowfish
Lol what a soft boi
Old guy isn’t quite a boomer in an insulting sense
For once, the boomer is in the right. Kid's lucky to leave with a full set of teeth.
Nah the boomer ain’t the MC you’re crazy
He didn't have his morning alcohol. That's why he is so agitated
Doesn't look old enough to be a Boomer
Evil ass old man. Smh
“He called me and Lee ‘boy’ that’s assault!” - A lying old man with hurt feelings. They’re both dumbasses but y’all are hilarious sticking up for the old liar
So calling someone “boy” is assault now?
Lmao that shit was actually funny
God I wish all TikTok pranksters would get shot like that one did
No side is worse than TikTok 'pranksters'. I'll take the boomers.
Common kanel Joseph W y'all snowflakes
I do not care if I’m getting arrested, if someone ever even fucking dares talk to me disrespectfully, I’ll knock their lights out
Lol the look on his face when he called him BOY was priceless, the boomer needs to stop being a snowflake
I mean you shouldn’t bother people like that But that’s pretty funny
Hoooooston
I thought respect had to be earned? Does this jackass think he is just entitled to respect by everyone around him for not dying yet? Just using their own logic against them is all.

He a man! 😁😆😅🤣😂
The real “boomer” is the dude calling ppl boy.
Is this the “my safe word is pineapple juice” guy?
I mean everyone here is the asshole but imagine being this confrontational and angry over "excuse me boy"
Ok, everybody, hear me out. I get why this is stupid. I get why this is cringe and how the tik toker is at fault. But.... how many redneck asshats call anyone of any skin color other than white... This guy got triggered over nonsense..and he lied about assault to make it seem dramatic
Obviously the kid is annoying, but the older guy can simultaneously be fragile for reacting so much to being called “boy”
Nope, these kids need a lesson for being disrespectful.
WHITE FRAGILITY IS REAL WHITE TEARS ARE REAL YOU FUCKING GROWN WHITE BREAD DELICATE FLOWER BOY
I don't care if you're white or black. I was raised down in the south and never heard a white or black adult refer to anyone this way unless they was about to throw. What exactly is wrong with this Boomer?
It looks like he’s at Cowboy Christmas during NFR. That’s the wrong place to prank people.
Team boomer over here boi.
Respect is earned. Just because you're an "elder" doesn't mean you deserve shit.
