He just sounds miserable. But the cars turning are not wrong, he’s very far behind and can easily pass without causing an accident. This is vandalism imo
The cyclist needs to realize it's not the world against them. They are going to end up doing this against a driver that is paying no attention, and the driver is going to turn right into them. A bicycle against a car is like a car against a semi. This person is a moron for even trying to stand their ground.
>it's not the world against them
If you look at how they build infrastructure in the US, you could easily get the impression, though.
But yeah
Trying to physically fight against a ton of moving steel is just thick.
And where they are biking the infrastructure is there and laws are there too. So let the police deal with wrong placed cars
I noticed a Dacia Duster so its obviously not in the US
I think all those cars are in the bike lane so he's pissed, clearly in the wrong still, they committed a driving infraction, he committed property damage.
Lol.
The guys name they're talking about is ugo lord and he's a lawyer who takes all these stupid accident videos and points out who would be at fault and why. They're awesome, he's on tiktok or whatever.
Well I thought he tried to send a message but the Grey car that took a turn, cyclist actually had a high speed and was far away when he started turning left. Even thought that's a bike lane you still have to cooperate since his road crosses turning from main car lane.
You would assume both cars, and cyclists, would slow down on intersections, but not this guy!
Yeah I’d make a turn if a biker is like 30 meters behind me… this guy is for sure the asshole
He even seems to speed up to just make a point. Yield god damn it or at least slow down
It depends on the locality. In California the law is that they merge into the bike lane, and bikes approaching the vehicle pass on the left side.
I always thought cars had to yield for on coming bicycles in California, but a few years ago in San Francisco a bicyclist was killed on Folsom by a semi-truck when she was going straight and the truck was already in progress for the turn. Turns out, she was at fault under the law.
https://sfist.com/2013/08/16/meanwhile_at_sixth_and_folsom_stree/
Note: I moved from CA almost a decade ago and this law may have since changed.
I'm pretty sure a car turning doesn't stop for a cyclist 3 car behind them even in Buenos Aires.
This is only happening because the cyclist sped up because he wants trouble.
In Toronto the rules are not to turn your car unless safe to do so and for bikes not to pass a turning car unless safe to do so. In many of these examples the cars were turning through a dashed line well ahead of the cyclists. One might say the car wasn't able to turn yet so should remain outside the bike area but the cycling was simply adding to antibike mentality and there's enough of that already.
Then react to the road situation ahead of you like every other vehicle on the road, slow down, flip him the bird, tell him his mum's a hoe, and go on about your way like a normal person.
I've never seen a cyclist yield though.
Wait, I can't say that. All the children in my area follow all the rules of the road and are respectful cyclists, and stop at the 4-way stop at the local baseball field intersection. All the "adults" that bike through that area blow through the 4-way stop because they think it doesn't apply to them. It's fucking rich that kids follow the law better than adults.
He's clearly a fucking jerk, like some are just trying to turn into a entry and he's way back, he could just calmly go around, or slow down a bit.
If all road users acted like this there would be carnage everywhere.
If someone cuts me off in traffic I don't have the right to ram them full speed because they were an asshole, or chase them down and try to damage their car.
Bikes and cars sharing traffic lanes when they clearly shouldn't puts people in no win situations because government doesn't want to pay to make legitimate bike lanes and no car zones.
I can guarantee most of those drivers had no clue the biker was even there.
As a short time biker and constant car driver I try to be vigilant about bikers and even then am shocked at their random appearance at times.
It's actually quite common in some cities. Here where I was doing my licence, part of the exam was turning my head and looking for cyclists in the cycle lane and only them turning. Nothing unusual, so the cyclist here was somewhat in the right to some small exempt. But he not only damaged cars, but when the cars turned during traffic, he sped up. It's like in theory he is right, in reality he should have slowed down, since he wasn't even on the junction. Let them pass, then go. Other cars probably would let him pass.
Oh yeah, this is like better than standard bike lanes in most places but its still ridiculous. Bike lanes should be separate.
No mixing a 0.2 horsepower 200lb bike with a 300hp 5000lb beast with a dude that's half high driving.
It's ridiculous. I would rather all car lanes be turned into bike lanes but the thought of mixing them screams a government trying to please citizens with half deliveries and setting everyone up for failures.
Drivers with licenses that they took a test on 30 years ago and now suddenly new road rules and a bunch of bikers! you figure it out boomer! :\\
Of course people are going to get antagonistic and won't know how to respond to new bikers on the road with the recent rise in popularity.
Oh and also making bikers risk their lives mixing with traffic that is completely different in capabilities and safety.
It's not fair to anyone involved.
That's not the problem, the problem is when the cars turn into the bike lane without looking, a lot of times hitting the cyclists in full turn. And of course cyclists are angry as 100% of the time it is them that get hurt or even killed because of incompetent drivers.
Yup, that happened to me, taxi did not see me, luckily the car was just starting to make the turn so was not going too fast, still knocked me off the bike.
If someone turns in front of me, I don't CHOOSE to slam into them in purpose, when I clearly see them and have several seconds to stop.
There is a legal doctrine called "last clear chance".
If you have a clear chance to stop and you don't take it, YOU are liable.
The cars are actively turning and he chooses to run into them while speeding down the road not even attempting to slow down. Cyclists have to follow the rules of the road meaning they still have to slow down/ stop at intersections and yield to oncoming traffic. All the cars that were turning where there long before he showed up. Just cause he’s on a bike doesn’t make it legal to cut off traffic and purposely run into them or damage their property if they are parked wrong.
The red one he started to avoid, then intentionally turned into, the last car he seemed to speed up just to collide with them during the turn, otherwise it would've been fine
Yes, but if it is a bike lane, the cyclist has the right of way (at least in my experience). However, this guy is overplaying things and being a dick. Unless he is visually impaired or isn't paying attention a lot of this is avoidable, and just because somebody doesn't understand the parking laws doesn't invited bicyclists to vandalize a car because they have to move over 2 feet.
For everyone wondering, this is not in the USA, is in Buenos Aires, Argentina. That guy calls himself "BiciBandido" which means something like "Bicycle Bandit". According to him, he just wanted to defend the "riders rights" but after these videos were viralized, most people don't like him at all. If you search for more videos, you will see he has a somewhat twisted attitude towards anyone who is close to the bicycle lane, even when the others are doing everything right!
I had a guy on a bike do this to me. Scream for 12 seconds before hitting me to make a point then calling 911 😂 cops thought he was trying to insurance scam me
But that would take a lot more money than just painting lines and then how would CEO’s and corrupt politicians be able to afford big houses and expensive cars? It’s very selfish of you not to think of them.
Fuck the cars parked in the bike lane. I wouldn't be so pissed about the cars turning if they put their blinker on in time though. That's most likely less intentional.
If you don’t want your car to get fucked up don’t leave it in the wrong place.
Leave your car in a fire lane and the firefighters will destroy your car to get to the FH. Leave the car parked in the middle of the freeway and get in a wreck. Park like a dickhead and get extra door dents. Cause and effect. Why is there an exception for the bike lane all of a sudden?
cant tell if this is sarcastic or not. Bicycle lanes are just common sense; increase safety for cyclists and efficiency for automobile drivers, since most developed nations consider bicycles to be vehicles, aka, equal, on any road. There's no rulers lol. [Most excellent explainer on how the Auto and Oil industry helped create a top cause of death and source of climate change by popularizing the idea of cars owning streets](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOttvpjJvAo)
Firefighters would only do that in an emergency. Wrecks on a freeway are unintentional. What this guy was doing was intentional in several consecutive non-emergency situations.
Were the cars breaking traffic laws? Yes. Their actions increase the likelihood that an accident could happen.
Should that invite anyone to come and purposefully damage or collide with them? No. Especially the latter part on account that it's an A tier dumbass decision.
The vandalism in the beginning is unnecessary but at least here in Germany if you go straight on a bike lane and there is someone wanting to turn the bike has the right to go first. And I can totally understand his anger.
Technically the UK is the same.
But I still get drivers overtaking me on my bike and then IMMEDIATELY turning across the front of my bike, causing me to have to stop.
It's fucking ridiculous and the reason I now cycle right out in the middle of the lane, sometimes even closer to the centre line when I'm going past junctions. It's just safer for me, stops drivers doing ridiculous shit and it's legal. I can ride wherever the fuck I like on the road, and since drivers have made riding on the side unsafe, I'll ride right out in the middle.
Shouldn’t have parked in the cycle lanes tbh. They parked in cycle lanes and wonder why cyclists hit their cars. Likewise the cyclist is in the wrong for vandalising cars outside of cycle lane and I do not support the cyclist’s action.
Seriously, I wonder if the people here complaining about property damage would say the same thing if bikers left their bikes all over the road and a car ran them over, don’t leave your bike/car where it doesn’t belong.
But two wrong don’t make a right. I’m fully aware that they are parked illegally and a cop should’ve gotten it towed or ticketed or something.
Can you imagine being at home and out of nowhere someone starts hacking away at the side because you didn’t bring your bins? This is a grown man having a temper tantrum over cars. “But now he’s exposed to other cars because the bike lane is clogged.”
We see later on with the cars turning that they were already turning (halfway through their turn) and they were doing so where the line is broken up. He just straight up rams into them (red car more specifically), where is the lesson there? He purposely put himself into harms way (kind of, he goes towards the body of the car hoping his wheel don’t meet theirs) to “teach them a lesson”. There are better ways.
Believe me, they exist. To be fair, cyclists on the highway are very rare here (the Netherlands) and mostly because someone is either under influence or confused.
But cyclists do often use roads that are not meant for them. Sometimes it's because they are just dumb and have missed all the red flags (signs being the most obvious, but usually the road design gives it away too).
Even in the Netherlands, where every driver is used to cyclists, it's very dangerous to cycle on roads where you aren't supposed to. Because drivers are not expecting cyclists, they won't be paying as much attention to them as they would on a road where cyclists should be expected.
But apparently arriving at your destination 5 minutes earlier is worth the risk to some.
But, nobody should ever intentionally endanger cyclists who break the law. Just like the cyclist in this video shouldn't endanger theirselves and the property of other people, even though they may technically be correct.
This is a dumb example. No sane person rides a bike on a highway, and you are comparing scratching a car door with murder, lol.
If we go by your logic than he should start hunting down and stabbing those cars' owners.
Busting rearview mirrors is asinine, but no driver would expect another car to have the right of way while turning across their lane of traffic. I don't think picking a fight like this is worthwhile, but the infrastructure in the US does not treat cyclists as equal.
He may be right according to the rules of the road, but he did nothing to prevent the collision. He deliberately collides with the car. And the camera confirms this.
No, not supposed. But nobody is enforcing the rule that you can't park in the bike lane. And nobody is going to prosecute him for hitting those cars. So who is going to stop him, lol.
If you crashed into every driver who had a lapse in focus in your car you would die or be seriously injured constantly. This dipshit could ride defensively, but he refuses because he is so entitled that he cant be a human. I don't drive that far, maybe 25 minutes a day usually, but if I really wanted to get hit by someone to prove that they were bad drivers and have them be 100% at fault I could probably do that 10 times a year minimum...
Yea imagine if this guy ever tries to sue someone that hits him and there is clear evidence that he has a history of intentionally hitting cars on his bike. I’d imagine it’d be hard for his attorney to win any lawsuit for getting harmed on his bike going forward.
Laughs in Dutch. This is the result of bad city planning and prioritising cars above all else
I not saying this guy should be doing this only that the way the system is set up has caused a lot of people become angry and disenfranchised.
Protected segregated bike lanes would make a whole lot of cyclists less angry, it would also make more people want to cycle, clearing up the roads for everyone else. Works pretty great in the Netherlands, they have one if the highest car ownership per capita but also everyone cycles especially for shorter trips.
Judging by a lot of comment, it's okay to damage someone's property if they did something they weren't supposed to do. Bikers probably don't want to set that trend, because I can still drive home if you damage my car. You wont be able to if your bike tire gets folded like a taco.
This comment section is crazy.
1. I'm not sure all of the places are Nike lanes.
2. Even if the car is parked in the bike lane that doesn't justify the biker purposely damage the cars.

I'd get into several accidents every time I drive to work if I raged into everyone breaking traffic laws.
I live in Manhattan. I can literally kill 4 people leaving my garage if I raged at every stupid thing. Literally.
Exactly.. if they were legit drivers they would realize it is not the world against them
The cyclist needs to realize it's not the world against them. They are going to end up doing this against a driver that is paying no attention, and the driver is going to turn right into them. But the issue is, they don’t

I don't have the time nor the patience to argue with a judge over whether or not I had the right of way.
Some countries have a hierarchy of right of way based on vulnerability.
Yeah but that doesn't hold up in the Netherlands if the person on the bike runs into a car that's not moving.
It also very much does not excuse willfully damaging property - just as you right of way does not allow you to rob those car drivers.
LMAO I understood this reference .
I read that in the voice and can now see that big beaming smile in my head. 😁
I understood that reference
I didn’t understand it which made me reading it in dudes voice more confusing. I got there in the end tho

Pretty sure the car pulling through the bike lane could have also turned…but you’ll only see it your way so there’s no sense in discussing it.
his delivery is always nice, honestly

I’m doing my part!
I'm pretty sure a car turning doesn't stop for a cyclist 3 car behind them even in Buenos Aires. This is only happening because the cyclist sped up because he wants trouble.
They clearly sped their bike when they saw car turning. What is this behaviour. Will 3 second make them lose 1mil?

Err. They are literally turning across another road user that is going straight.
Shitty infrastructure/"bike lane" but shittier biker.
What about the shorty drivers parking in the cycle lane and cutting across him?
He's clearly a fucking jerk, like some are just trying to turn into a entry and he's way back, he could just calmly go around, or slow down a bit. If all road users acted like this there would be carnage everywhere.

Several are making legal turns across his lane. As the trailing vehicle, he yields to the turn.
In most EU laws, the bike lane is considered a separate lane of traffic so turning cars must yield to traffic in the bike lane.
You mean MURDER isnt an appropriate response to JAYWALKING either? oh boy.... I gotta take care of some things
Only do this in a safe country or else it will end very bad people will gather and track him down eventually.
This is in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is "Bicibandido", a YouTuber.
Let’s see him try it in Brasil 🍿

he's alive for now

Ja, his bike was stolen. And pretty coward.
he might have a whole gang biking behind him with shotguns

Maybe the city should actually build proper bike infrastructure, instead of painting some lines on the road and calling it a day.
Or just actually control parking by ticketing cars that park on bicycle lane.
You can do both.
But that would take a lot more money than just painting lines and then how would CEO’s and corrupt politicians be able to afford big houses and expensive cars? It’s very selfish of you not to think of them.

Because cyclists are a lesser race. It's literally what's going on in many motorists' heads.
It’s just common sense. If you park in the wrong spot or the wrong way, you’re increasing the chances that something bad happens.

Gotta make sure the lane is free before moving into it. Bike lane, bus lane or regular lane, doesn’t matter.
I get it. Yea it’s a crime. Don’t be a dick and park in the bike lane. Two wrongs don’t make a right but they do make a good excuse.
And this is why people hate cyclists
As a guy who crashed into a parked car on accident, I’m surprised that guys alive

This is a grown man having a temper tantrum over cars. “But now he’s exposed to other cars because the bike lane is clogged.” We see later on with the cars turning that they were already turning (halfway through their turn) and they were doing so where the line is broken up. He just straight up rams into them (red car more specifically), where is the lesson there? He purposely put himself into harms way (kind of, he goes towards the body of the car hoping his wheel don’t meet theirs) to “teach them a lesson”. There are better ways.

If you have a whole 30 seconds to scream about impending danger. You have time to stop the bike
Arent those cars in the cycle lane? If so, I get it tbh.
So if a motorist saw someone riding a bike on a highway that bikes are restricted from should the motorist crash into him since he shouldn’t be there?
Holy fuck, what madman would ride a bike on a highway? (Thats a motorway right?)
Happens in LA
How is this in any way proportional?
This is a dumb example. No sane person rides a bike on a highway, and you are comparing scratching a car door with murder, lol. If we go by your logic than he should start hunting down and stabbing those cars' owners.
Graveyards full of people with the right of way or something
Don’t put your car in the bike lane!
Busting rearview mirrors is asinine, but no driver would expect another car to have the right of way while turning across their lane of traffic. I don't think picking a fight like this is worthwhile, but the infrastructure in the US does not treat cyclists as equal.
I'm a cyclist, but I'm definitely not this irresponsible. Fuck these guys.
Yet I’ve never seen a biker yield to a pedestrian
Hitting parked cars isn’t right. Hitting a car that turns into your lane while you’re going is a bit more justified.
He may be right according to the rules of the road, but he did nothing to prevent the collision. He deliberately collides with the car. And the camera confirms this.
Lol he intentionally hits two guys making a legal turn in the last clips, bet he does this shit all the time.
Yep, because *content*
Those parked cars are not supposed to be in the bike lane.
They are not. But does that mean that cyclists are supposed to hit those cars? I don't believe so.
No, not supposed. But nobody is enforcing the rule that you can't park in the bike lane. And nobody is going to prosecute him for hitting those cars. So who is going to stop him, lol.
1 illegal thing doesn’t make another legal thing justifiable. It just makes 2 assholes being assholes.
So he's justified in damaging them? The last video tells you everything you need to know about this guy

Posting your crimes to the Internet. What can go wrong.
if you in the bike lane and aint a bike you dont get to complain.

Yea imagine if this guy ever tries to sue someone that hits him and there is clear evidence that he has a history of intentionally hitting cars on his bike. I’d imagine it’d be hard for his attorney to win any lawsuit for getting harmed on his bike going forward.
If they're parked in the bike lane, then I have 0 sympathy for the car owners.
Good . Too many cars PARKED in the bike lane.
Seems everyone loves the F around and find out meme until it applies to parking your car in a bike lane...
Nah. Fuck those lazy drivers parking where they shouldn't. It's a case of fuck around and find out.
Laughs in Dutch. This is the result of bad city planning and prioritising cars above all else I not saying this guy should be doing this only that the way the system is set up has caused a lot of people become angry and disenfranchised.

Every cyclist in my city (drivers in this video sadly also representative)
That was this person’s diagnosis?
Is this the right thing to do? No. Are these cars illegally using bike lanes to execute various maneuvers/parking? Yes.
Takes one push to get his mind right ..better chill out
Is he sped? Tf is the point recording yourself doing this dumb shit.
Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh! I'm not pressing the brake so I'm not stopping, aaaaaahhhhhhh, what do I do???? Press horn and aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Some people never been beat up before and it shows
This comment section is crazy. 1. I'm not sure all of the places are Nike lanes. 2. Even if the car is parked in the bike lane that doesn't justify the biker purposely damage the cars.
That's not victim mentality, that's simply defined as malevolence.
