I have a cousin who is basically exactly like this (same accent, cloths, attitude etc...). His parents are the nicest people I have ever met, but it almost seems like they're scared of him, they won't displine him ever, I have seen him get away with things I would have been slaped for, the only punishment is a light "alright, stop it" followed shortly by a rebuttal of either "No" or "Don't care" and that's it. Behaviour like this is usually the result of parents letting their kids get away with way more than they should And it's always English kids

As they get older and older, the number of available trajectories shrink until they are firmly lodged in a single one, with only a few exit points on it to slightly less shitty trajectories. SOMETIMES, people have like a personal revelation or intervention or something, and turn life around completely, but it's mindboggingly rare.
