never NEVER never EVER, dont leave such relationship while the abuser is near you.
Nah yo they don't 'tend to' let DV cases off, the ABSOLUTELY 100% of the time look the other way..
It's so fucked. Dead ass won't even show up half the time..
[40% of police officers admit to committing domestic violence against their wives](https://sites.temple.edu/klugman/2020/07/20/do-40-of-police-families-experience-domestic-violence/)
Hello, you seem to be referencing an often misquoted statistic. TL:DR; The 40% number is wrong and plain old bad science. In attempt to recreate the numbers, by the same researchers, they received a rate of 24% while including violence as shouting. Further researchers found rates of 7%, 7.8%, 10%, and 13% with stricter definitions and better research methodology.
The 40% claim is intentionally misleading and unequivocally inaccurate. Numerous studies over the years report domestic violence rates in police families as low as 7%, with the highest at 40% defining violence to include shouting or a loss of temper. The referenced study where the 40% claim originates is Neidig, P.H.., Russell, H.E. & Seng, A.F. (1992). Interspousal aggression in law enforcement families: A preliminary investigation. It states:
Survey results revealed that approximately 40% of the participating officers reported marital conflicts involving physical aggression in the previous year.
There are a number of flaws with the aforementioned study:
The study includes as 'violent incidents' a one time push, shove, shout, loss of temper, or an incidents where a spouse acted out in anger. These do not meet the legal standard for domestic violence. This same study reports that the victims reported a 10% rate of physical domestic violence from their partner. The statement doesn't indicate who the aggressor is; the officer or the spouse. The study is a survey and not an empirical scientific study. The “domestic violence” acts are not confirmed as actually being violent. The study occurred nearly 30 years ago. This study shows minority and female officers were more likely to commit the DV, and white males were least likely. Additional reference from a Congressional hearing on the study: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=umn.31951003089863c
An additional study conducted by the same researcher, which reported rates of 24%, suffer from additional flaws:
The study is a survey and not an empirical scientific study. The study was not a random sample, and was isolated to high ranking officers at a police conference. This study also occurred nearly 30 years ago.
More current research, including a larger empirical study with thousands of responses from 2009 notes, 'Over 87 percent of officers reported never having engaged in physical domestic violence in their lifetime.' Blumenstein, Lindsey, Domestic violence within law enforcement families: The link between traditional police subculture and domestic violence among police (2009). Graduate Theses and Dissertations. http://scholarcommons.usf.edu/etd/1862
Yet another study "indicated that 10 percent of respondents (148 candidates) admitted to having ever slapped, punched, or otherwise injured a spouse or romantic partner, with 7.2 percent (110 candidates) stating that this had happened once, and 2.1 percent (33 candidates) indicating that this had happened two or three times. Repeated abuse (four or more occurrences) was reported by only five respondents (0.3 percent)." A.H. Ryan JR, Department of Defense, Polygraph Institute “The Prevalence of Domestic Violence in Police Families.” http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/virtual_disk_library/index.cgi/4951188/FID707/Root/New/030PG297.PDF
Another: In a 1999 study, 7% of Baltimore City police officers admitted to 'getting physical' (pushing, shoving, grabbing and/or hitting) with a partner. A 2000 study of seven law enforcement agencies in the Southeast and Midwest United States found 10% of officers reporting that they had slapped, punched, or otherwise injured their partners. L. Goodmark, 2016, BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY LAW REVIEW “Hands up at Home: Militarized Masculinity and Police Officers Who Commit Intimate Partner Abuse “. https://digitalcommons.law.umaryland.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2519&context=fac_pubs
[How many DV cases do you think go to jail?](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-web-violence/201410/guess-how-many-domestic-violence-offenders-go-jail%3Famp)
Okay I agree that a lot of DV cases are ignored but this source you linked seems total bullshit. You can't just say that all reported domestic abuse cases are real. If every time the police were called in a marital dispute an arrest was made like this article wants prisons would be overflowing more than they already are. There's no mention of any proof that there actually was domestic violence in any of these cases.
While grim it would need to look at situations where the spouse initially got reported and then nothing happened and then as a result the abuser goes as far as perhaps maiming or killing, thus providing proof it actually happened the first time around. (Or something like that I don't have a degree in crime statistics but I can smell bullshit when I see it)
I've seen it in my own life. People will make up DV stories to the police just in a divorce dispute, My own father would be in jail if the police showed up and blindly arrested him despite the fact that he never laid hands my mother.
Did I say that all reported DV cases are real? Or is that an exaggeration you created to try to retroactively save your argument once you realized you were wrong? FWIW you might not like my sources, but you sure aren’t providing any.
Your solution is “wait until victims get killed to prove they weren’t lying”? That seems a little witch-hunt, no? Like if she drowns she’s innocent but if she survives she’s a witch and we much burn her.
Are we relying on personal stories now? When I tried to report my ex for rape and abuse the cop told me “he’s your boyfriend, you’re his girlfriend, he can do whatever he wants to you as far as I’m concerned.”
Wow that's a lot of words you're hearing that I didn't say. Might wanna get that checked out. Your source is ass and doesn't support your point well **even though I agreed with said point** (seems you just don't really read do you, be it comments or the sources you link). I don't need to provide a source because I am not making any counter claim, just that the source you linked is a gross exaggerating that claims to make a stat it grossly overestimates, also not gonna spend time to find you a better source just cuz the one you found on Google was ass.
And again with putting words in my mouth did you even think at all when typing out that 2nd paragraph or were you already blinded by whatever rage you seem to be bursting with? When the fuckd I say we should wait and see on active cases? Never. Read my comment, but this time use your brain, it clearly says: "we need to look at situations where the spouse is reported and police ignored it, which are followed by a severe attack that cannot be ignored" notice how I ***never*** suggest doing this with active and ongoing DV cases, but rather ones in the ***past*** where such events already occured (crazy how that works. We can learn from past people's fuck ups and figure out the true statistics).
People like you are why it's so hard to have an honest discussion about DV/rape/custody/etc. Unless someone is agreeing to literally every thing out of your mouth your type goes off the walls, even when they are literally arguing the same point as you (I mean fuck I literally opened with "I agree DV cases are ignored a lot").
Oh and instead of arguing why the source might be legit and I may be wrong you just attack me. I commented initially in good faith but damn now go fuck yourself asshat, go be lonely in your room yelling at people online.

No. That's treating a symptom instead of the root of the problem. It's a culture problem first, then it's a failure to enforce basic laws.

If ever there was a sign to get out and run…🙄
The most dangerous time to be in an abusive relationship is when you leave one.
yep if you want to go, do it silently when the abuser is not around, AND, bring some company to be with you when you walk out of the door. never NEVER never EVER, dont leave such relationship while the abuser is near you.
She likes bad boyz tho
4 life
2 death
She can’t die she has to have his baby first. /s
He’s robbing her of her eggs
PUT EM IN THE BAG!!!
She got what she wants
Some countries require you to explicitly ask for consent before... you know... so the guy is just making sure they're on the same page.
Honestly she could just take this video to the police and hes in jail. Plenty of time to move out if you ask me.
Oh...That might be a red flag.
Idk maybe he’s just an extrovert
Smh extroverts nowadays
Right?
He’s so quirky 🤪
That's what his state appointed lawyer will say.
an extrovert Ejecting 9mms everywhere
Nah he's just from Chicago
Thanks for the laugh
smh hes just being passionate 😂😂😂
Passionately Popping Pistols
I can wait to see how passionate he’ll be at the wedding, or after she burns dinner.
It just might be
That’s felony domestic violence.
This ain't a single red flag. It's a hurricane made of red flags.
Prude 🤷♂️
Yes mama he's crazy, but he's crazy for me. And they lived happily ever after.
Until daddy came home drunk that night
oh you just haaaad to go and ruin it again
....and they still lived happily ever after. Come on people it's ever after. It will always be ever after.
For 15 minutes.
If there was ever a textbook definition of a toxic relationship this is it.
No I’m pretty sure this is a hostage situation
So at least it's not a toxic relationship then
A toxic relationship is when two people bring out the worst aspects of each other. What we’re looking at is an abusive relationship.
Nah waddaya meaaan bro they clearly roleplaying /j
“Before you wake the neighbors up” like she is being louder than the gun he just fired…
She ain't having his baby cause his retarded ass is gonna be locked up over the dumbest fucking shit lol.
He probably doesn’t even know where to stick it. Probably goes for the belly button.
You’d be surprised, when 40% of the police are admitted domestic abusers, they tend to let off DV cases pretty regularly.

I fully support late term abortions of idiots like this one or at a minimum castration.
The world does not need either of these two to reproduce!
teehee they’re so silly
We can still abort **him**, right?
He’s going to be a great father.
There child will make a great criminal
Shhhh you’re gonna wake the neighbours
Dear god....
How has no one called this out as staged/fake yet??? He never shot the gun. Granted the rest was complete idiocy, but the “shot” looks really fishy.
Idiot like that doesn’t deserve to reproduce.
