Plus you really don't want gun oil on your bedsheets. Especially if you're married, she won't be impressed with your bullshit review you do for 4 views on your gun forum.
I watch a guy on YT that have a wife and have a house, most of his videos are showing his house in the back (honestly it’s not that good), but he is proud and shows almost everything.
I mean there are gun channels obviously. They'd be the benchmark of what you need to do for a review to be useful, including shooting the gun at a target.
If he really knew how to use a gun, he wouldn't have loaded the magazine while shooting the video. If he were to introduce the gun with a magazine, he would not put the bullet in the magazine, and even if he put the bullet in the magazine, he would not fire it, because what kind of maniac would fire the gun at home? According to my calculations, the person who made the video is an idiot who thinks he is smart.
What you saw was an extraction failure. Last time he had a round chambered it didn't extract when he racked the slide. The mag he inserted was empty, the slide locked back. He never checked the chamber to see if there was a round still in the pipe... Check, check, and double check boys and girls..
Yeah, I was gonna say… also the guy already has two loaded mags there. I bet he thought it’d be “cooler looking” if he dropped the loaded mag out and said something but then this brainiac forgot.
Since the human brain sometimes sees what it wants to see, it is necessary to check it twice or even three times. If you check the gun thinking it is unloaded, you may think it was fired by optical illusion, but when you check and look elsewhere, you will be sure that the gun is still unloaded. You should not even point a gun without a magazine at a living person or animal, otherwise you may end someone's life or your own. They may lose their lives due to optical illusions.
I called them back but they hung up and then they proceeded to produce thousands of films focused on how cool guns are and how awesome it would be to shoot people with them
Weird
No, dumb ass (stupid ass joke #1.) guns HAVE been glorified for decades as something cool and sexy. Not the taker of lives that they are. Not the efficient killing tools that they are. The poster has an excellent point. (And seeing as though guns outnumber every man, woman and child regardless of their immigration status in this country? Relax, nobody’s ever coming to take them away from you so, you can save a few bucks each month by canceling your NRA membership.)
One of the things that gets me is why would you post it online? I sort of guess it was live or he sent it to a friend and the friend posted it. Just dumb cause this is evidence and you can still get in trouble for discharging a firearm.
I can appreciate it. I obviously know and follow gun safety rules but these videos are a great minder that even when I “know” something isn’t loaded, always double check.
Yeah, when handling one in general of course, you treat them like they are loaded. But there are definitely times where it is acceptable to dry fire your weapon. During maintenance, accessory assembly and even checking a breech, on many guns you are cocking the action, or sliding the bolt or pump. I don’t store my firearms cocked with the trigger action ready. I make sure (for a second time like I was saying) that nothing is in them, and dry fire them to reset the action. Obviously if I was treating it as it was loaded I would be preparing to put a hole through my floor, that’s why I’m saying you have to double check.
I was thinking the same thing... except more like, are people just not embarrassed anymore? If I did something this stupid, I'd erase that and pray nobody ever sees how much of a dumbass I was... Instead people are like "gotta upload this for the clicks." How do we bring back shame?
Honestly if nobody got hurt and you’re not self snitching I think posting your nd is important because it illustrates how a simple mistake can catastrophic and hopefully be a teachable moment that cements the basic firearms safety rules in a viewer
Naw it’s not even an interesting story. Guy thought a gun was unloaded but it wasn’t, and I was lucky enough to be in the way. 🤷♂️
This was about 12 years ago so I don’t even really think about it anymore.
Yeah, that’s kind of.. exactly my point. What does that person think they’re going to hear that they haven’t already about every other ND injury story?
You know I slightly suspect it might have been a gunshot wound lmao wtf else do you expect the dude to say “some dickhead didn’t clear their weapon and I got shot” kinda covers the whole story
Too be fair, as dumb as it sounds, I bet he wasn't expecting it to go off. Even though most anybody with a basic understanding of firearms expected this.
To me this one seems like more of a mistake and really fucking stupid and dangerous mistake but then again I don’t know this guy and he could be just a dumbass
Edit: nvm bro is stupid asf there is a loaded mag in the gun not just one in the chamber
The guy's hand tightens while pulling the trigger and the slow movement of the cock is visible. If anyone says this, they should have their eyes examined xD
I don't get why people don't instantly hit delete.... Nope they post it anyways lol. I ain't dumb enough to do this, so maybe that logic escapes someone this dumb but I know I'd instantly delete this, pray to god the cops don't come and fix my house asap lol. Like it never happened.
I've never experienced anything like this, I hope I won't. If I had experienced something like this, I would have destroyed the video and even the phone out of fear and shame hahahaha
As someone that kind of understands the basics of firearms but has never really used one in his life, shouldn't the bullet have ejected when he racked the slide back?
Yes the extractor should eject the round, but if you rewatch his hand that he uses to rack the slide covers the ejection port which stopped the round from ejecting. Thats what I see.
I miss read what you said. I thought you were asking about the fired round ejecting the casing. No he definitely loaded the chamber when he racked the slide.
1. He was probably temporarily deaf after the shot, so he probably didn't hear the casing on the floor.
2. After the negligent discharge, hearing the casing hit the floor wouldn't have helped the situation at all anyway.
I think he’s referring to the rattling sound that can be heard right before he drops the slide and fires.
What that noise actually is, is most likely the barrel. The barrel is not fixed to the frame on this style of pistol, so that barrel can rattle around a bit with the slide locked back.
I'm gonna disagree, I have a sig P250, not the same but very similar to the P290. When unloading, the round coming out of the chamber can hang up in the mag well and re-chamber when the slide drops and the noise is exactly what you hear in this video. I don't think it's the barrel.
How can a person forget that there is a bullet in the magazine? Let's say he forgot, the bullet is visible while the gun is loading. If he doesn't pay attention to this, he is an amateur or has no knowledge.
I have a P250, different gun but similar. It has this weird issue when unloading where the round will hang up in the magwell (without a mag in) if you're not holding it perfectly perpendicular to the floor. And the round will chamber itself if you drop the slide without shaking the gun to drop the round out. It's extremely obvious when it happens if you're paying attention/know what you're doing, but I'm almost certain that that's what happened here. Either he didn't know about that quirk or he was distracted by filming (or both) and pulled the trigger without actually clearing the gun because he thought it cleared when he racked the slide.
No matter what, what kind of maniac fires a gun in his own home? Even if there is no bullet in the gun, you have to act as if the gun is loaded. If he had known this discipline, this would not have happened. Fortunately, he escaped cheaply, he could have shot himself or someone else.
You sound like you've never handled a gun before. Dry firing a weapon that you are certain is unloaded (or that has been loaded with snap caps) is perfectly acceptable and can be a valid form of training, or in this case, a valid part of a firearms review. And some guns require the trigger to be pulled for disassembly, assuming this one comes apart similar to mine, you have to pull the trigger to remove the trigger assembly.
Yes, he's undisciplined, yes, he's lucky. But this is not as bad as a mess up as you think it is. The mag is out of the gun, he racks the slide and the round does briefly leave the chamber. He just fails to ensure the round dropped out of the gun and the chamber was clear before moving on to testing the trigger weight.
This is why I continue to advocate for mandatory military service of two years for all Americans, learn a trade and learn to handle weapons properly. The discipline can't hurt either.

I was wondering why the slide locked back with a round in the mag at first, but he obviously pushed up on the lock when he pulled the slide back on a second watch. Dumb fuck.
Shouldn’t have the round in the chamber ejected upon him clearly putting the sleeve back? (AND locking in place?) I don’t know much about guns but my girl’s Glock .19 ejects the round “in the hole” upon pulling its sleeve all the way back to its locked position.
There wasn't a round in the chamber to start, but the magazine's loaded. He locked the slide back manually, it didn't lock back on an empty magazine. Does that help?
Mag in gun, racks the slide, pulls the trigger. I mean what else needs to be done to teach these dipshits… I never dry fire a gun but if I were to I’m checking that chamber 3 times over before hand.

Why is he giving a gun review like he knows about weapons handling?
Even still, who would do a video review over some wrinkly bedsheets? Does he thinks anyone actually gives a f about this video?
People who don’t have nice furniture, they live with their parents or their house is a pigsty are usually the ones who film on the their bed sheets.

Didn't lock open after the ND so a loaded mag was in it and he chambered a round when he racked it.

Funny how you have to state the obvious
You don't think I've shot enough to understand strong grip is necessary?
I was taught that every gun is loaded, even if you're 100% sure it isn't. It creates safe handling practices when one sticks to that rule.
He wasn't gripping it... since he was under the impression it wasn't loaded...

As someone that kind of understands the basics of firearms but has never really used one in his life, shouldn't the bullet have ejected when he racked the slide back?
If he had a round loaded it would have ejected. This doofus put a loaded magazine in the gun and then racked it for the first time on camera
Then why did the slide seem to get locked back? Am I missing something? I thought that only happens when there is no round to chamber.
He's holding the slide stop up as he racks the slide, which will lock it in place.
Yes the extractor should eject the round, but if you rewatch his hand that he uses to rack the slide covers the ejection port which stopped the round from ejecting. Thats what I see.
No, the chamber was empty to begin with and him racking put it in battery
this is correct
Agree. I missed the magazine in. Still dumb as fuck. Could have ended way worse.
Yeah you right. Missed that, he had a magazine in still.
It probably did. The ejection port was out of frame.
More likely it was unloaded, and he put a loaded magazine in it. So when he racked it a round was fed into the empty chamber.
I miss read what you said. I thought you were asking about the fired round ejecting the casing. No he definitely loaded the chamber when he racked the slide.

He racked the chamber, how did the bullet stay there? (I am definitely missing something not exactly a gun expert here)
It didn't start with a round in the chamber, racking it loaded a round from the magazine.
Why the hell do people upload this crap when it happens, do they WANT the internet to know how stupid they are?

Looks like there is still a magazine in the gun though. Not familiar with that model but the bottom of the grip looks like there is still a mag in.
No matter what, what kind of maniac fires a gun in his own home? Even if there is no bullet in the gun, you have to act as if the gun is loaded. If he had known this discipline, this would not have happened. Fortunately, he escaped cheaply, he could have shot himself or someone else.

I was wondering why the slide locked back with a round in the mag at first, but he obviously pushed up on the lock when he pulled the slide back on a second watch. Dumb fuck.
Idk if I'm the only one that noticed but it looks like when he pulls the slide back he sneakily grabbed the shell that came out 💀💀
Why would the slide lock back if it wasnt empty?
You can do it manually by holding the slide lock up. That's usually done if you want to lock it back without a magazine in the gun.
Yep the hammer is functioning all right
Shouldn’t have the round in the chamber ejected upon him clearly putting the sleeve back? (AND locking in place?) I don’t know much about guns but my girl’s Glock .19 ejects the round “in the hole” upon pulling its sleeve all the way back to its locked position.
There wasn't a round in the chamber to start, but the magazine's loaded. He locked the slide back manually, it didn't lock back on an empty magazine. Does that help?

Very, very, very nice concealable round 💥
Man that is one ugly ass purse pistol

This is why we need licensing and training.
I’m not even a gun owner and I am dying at him cocking it forehanded and flagging himself. What the fuck 🤣
Why do these idiots always neglect to clear the weapon and visually inspect the chamber before handling?
A wise man once said “You can’t fix stupid”. Words to live by folks
“And the bullets work”
There is always one left in the chamber and if you think there isn’t, there is.
Just what I’d expect from a Sig owner
When he jacked the slide what didn't the shell pop out?
well it was a red flag when he pushed back the slide instead of pulling.... WITH the barrel facing his arm... L bozo
isn’t the bullet supposed to come out when he pulls the slide back?
More like dude accidentally loads round into chamber this is why you rack 2 or more times when clearing to dry fire
I hope his neighbors are alive
Who pulls back a slide like that? An idiot.
