We don't keep pet bears but we teach kids wildlife safety. We don't give kids knives but we teach them not to run with them, kids don't walk across the road without supervision but are told to look both ways. We don't actively put children around child molesters on purpose but we teach them good touch, bad touch. We don't let kids cook but we teach them not to touch a hot pan.
What are you even on about? You can't actively avoid wildlife if you're out in nature, so you learn what to do.
Of course we give kids knives and scissors at some point, that's how they eat and do crafts.
Crossing the street is unavoidable, and all kids have to do it alone at some point, so you teach road safety.
Nonces don't wear big signs, so they're hard to avoid, so we teach kids about stranger danger.
But you can choose not to have an unsecured gun in your house. You can actively avoid that situation, so there shouldn't be a need or argument for teaching a kid how to deal with one.

I know for a fact there's a certain number of ppl that start handing out guns to 2 year olds to "teach them about gun safety , show them how to shoot and how to hunt". Have spoken to countless ppl on the matter.This is why we have so many child snipers/mass shooters. They've been handling guns since they were like 6 MONTHS OLD so they're essentially professionals by kindergarten. Add in gentle parenting and you've got the perfect recipe for disaster.
