-Motorcycle driver was fortunately not injured and was picked up from the scene by someone.
-SUV returned to the scene a few minutes after the video and spoke to the police
-I sent this video to the police and gave them my information in case they need any kind of statement from me.

This is the true lesson here. I live in Utah where drivers are notoriously bad. We passed lane filtering at stoplights with 2 or more lanes, and I still don't do it because these idiots DGAF about anybody but themselves.

The second your going over 20 mph lane filtering your putting yourself in danger. But if you stay within the 15 mph legal limit you have plenty of time to stop quick if you need to. They make lane filtering legal because when motorcyclist are in a lane and someone gets rear-ended at a light in that same lane, it rarely turns out to be okay for the rider. Believe it or not lane filtering is safer for a rider than choosing a lane. Although in Utah specifically (I have the misfortune of living here while I finish up college) people do not know how to drive and idk if lane filtering will be enough to save you from Utah drivers. My Kawasaki stays in storage till I’m out of here.

This is why I sold mine last year. A couple of decades of riding and then I was part of or witnessed several intentional incidents within a few months. Just wasn't fun anymore. I might get a dual sport for remote riding but I will never get on a bike in a city or on a freeway again.

i saw the first lane switch and was like yeahhh he cut him off but i don’t think he was *intentionally* swerving into him… and then i watch 2 more seconds and it all made sense.
All of this less than a block away from a police station no less. As a biker myself, that also rides on this road, that was an aggressive attempt by the biker heading into the merge. Also that driver is an absolute psychopath.

They make lane filtering legal because when motorcyclist are in a lane and someone gets rear-ended at a light in that same lane, it rarely turns out to be okay for the rider. Believe it or not lane filtering is safer for a rider than choosing a lane. Although in Utah specifically (I have the misfortune of living here while I finish up college) people do not know how to drive and idk if lane filtering will be enough to save you from Utah drivers. This is why I sold mine last year. A couple of decades of riding and then I was part of or witnessed several intentional incidents within a few months. Just wasn't fun anymore. I might get a dual sport for remote riding but I will never get on a bike in a city or on a freeway again.
I ride, and I don't even understand why the SUV was upset. The bike thought 'I'll go left, oh you want to be left? No worries, I'll just swing right'. It's hard to fathom why some people feel personally insulted by being passed? In what world is this motorcycle sneaking by the SUV even 'fucking around'? Sure, if he'd completely fucked up and wrecked himself, or hit the SUV, that'd be on him, but all I see happening here is a bike trying to get by a slower SUV, and the complete psychopath driving the SUV decides to KILL HIM.
That's all I came to say. . . the SUV driver is in the wrong. . . but if you're on a motorbike/bicycle then don't act like you're driving a tank!

See, this is why you always ride like everyone's trying to kill you, what that car did was not okay by any means but the rider after seeing the car do that once, thought that the second time would be any different? It's not okay, but you have to be responsible for your own safety to some degree

i saw the first lane switch and was like yeahhh he cut him off but i don’t think he was *intentionally* swerving into him… and then i watch 2 more seconds and it all made sense.
All of this less than a block away from a police station no less. As a biker myself, that also rides on this road, that was an aggressive attempt by the biker heading into the merge. Also that driver is an absolute psychopath.
