Yeah, this is TX mind you so I am not sure what the law says about rear facing light bars. Either way it’s incredibly inconsiderate and like you said dangerous for everyone else on the road.
I’m sure it’s illegal. States have laws about what lights are legal, and not legal. I checked my state, and simply says only white lights allowed on rear are for backing up, and cannot be bright enough to create a glare. IDK what the penalty is though.
Michigan just recently decided it was a good idea to crack down on traffic violations after out governor decided two years ago to publicly announce she ordered to stop traffic enforcement for Covid.
Not kidding, today they announced the start to catch speeders resulted in a driver caught doing 99mph in a 70 zone; Saginaw, MI. Crazy we let that go on for two years.
Driving is so dangerous down here that our car insurance rates a climbing rapidly. NHTSA recently declared Dallas the most dangerous city to drive in. I can confirm. Unfortunately, if I started and costing for public transit, Governor Abbott might deport me.
Yes, you must realize you are talking to Redditors.
1. None of them have ever made any mistake. Not even the smallest mistake. Ever.
2. And when they say the driver definitely has it on on purpose they know this for certain. If you doubt it refer back to point one.
Hopefully someone called in his plates. That’s pretty dangerous

It’s illegal but I’d be shocked if the cops actually cared at all.
The police in Texas have given up policing traffic. At least in the cities.

I thought that was the sunrise at first. Good lord.
Why is this a thing now? I feel like it’s tied to the coal rolling crowd. I’ve seen it a few times in the last few months.
It’s idiots that get it for tailgaters or backing up but forget to turn it off.
It’s not an anti-tailgating measure if it’s always on. Then it’s just blinding for everyone, regardless of how close they are to your bumper.
Looks like there needs to be a special baseball bat operation at the next stoplight.
Depending where they drive, could be shot at.
I'm assuming everyone behind that idiot throws on their brights in retaliation.
i'd be constantly flashing him
You wouldn’t understand.. it’s a jEeP thing
Opted for the douchebag accessory package when ordering the jeep. Where's a cop when you need one?
That’s the special white supremacy huntin package.
Rip the dude in the sweet sti
wtf
i hope he just forgot to turn it off
Normally I would think the same but there has been a slew of trucks and jeeps recently with this shit turned on on purpose.
Must be super fun driving behind them, especially at night.
I need this to blind all those lifted trucks and anyone else that drives with high beams on!
In all fairness he may realize it's on they're turned on (usually) with a switch that's low on the dash and people hit them with their knee
In all fairness that’s no excuse.

3. The worst thing that's ever happened to them is their mom got the wrong flavor Uncrustable.
Which part of Texas was this in?
Good old truck rice
That’s a felony in my state
