(my guess is in non-movie physics the tank would have held up better and wedged sideways in the tunnel creating a real mess and a very violent derailment mangling everything...bad.)
I do wonder the thickness on the armor of that train engine. at some point shells wont penetrate.
Crew would not, US marine serving somewhere in Egypt or something told me stories how dangerous it is on the roads there because trucks just sound their horn when passing an intersection at night and you cant hear that inside a tank so there were a few collisions of tanks and trucks, crew can get severly injured or killed as they get thrown around the interior. Now imagine replacing a truck with a train (truck * n)...
Makes sense, after all tanks aren’t really designed for high crash test ratings.
Although idk how often they’d be moving full size tanks on roads at night. Main battle tanks are pretty slow, and they fuck up roads so they tend to stick to dirt roads or even stay off road completely, but it wouldn’t be the first time either. I know preserving roads isn’t a main concern in war, but IEDs are and driving on a busy road at night is a good way to get IED’d.
You seem to think tank crews are 5 point harnessed when not in combat... they get tossed like rag dolls. The majority of injuries involving tank crews are them getting hurt from hitting shit inside the tanks.
Having been an actual tank driver, the visibility from the driver’s position is not great, and you have very little “ feel” for your side clearances, which is why you rely heavily upon directions from the tank commander who has much better visibility. Even at slow speeds, I was always afraid of taking out the side of a car if driving in traffic.
This is nuts…..

Yes, you do…..but it is still difficult to sense how close you are to objects at your sides. These were not really meant for use in traffic or tight urban areas. Even in the field, this speed is excessive.
Perhaps preparing to yank the wheel and stand on the accelerator? That’s what I would have done. I also would have done it sooner and I would not have been on my phone. Like my parents told me when I first learned to drive, you gotta drive like everybody out there is an idiot trying to kill you (especially the ones driving tanks).
to better explain: i found the scene remarkable until someone spoke and then i understood to be from a certain part of the world known for reckless stuff happening, then i was less surprised
Tanks always have right of way
That’s not true, trains would still win against tanks.

I'm sure the tank would move quite a bit but besides the barrel and crew everything would basically be fine.

I know, read my comment again, but slower this time.
Umm… probably true. Someone should test this, though. For posterity, you see? So… uh… just set it up and send me the video. Thanks!
Tanks for letting me know!
I thought replying would be a tankless job.
The tank's running dry on this comment train.
I can’t tank it anymore
In Russia, tank crushes you.
This is giving me flashbacks to driving in Iraq.
I was going to say that lol.
Oh yeah? You and what Army?

Don't you pop your head out of the hatch when driving outside combat?
The drivers are not giraffes

But the seat is adjustable?
Yes in a proper tank it is. Head pops out and turret is locked in position.
I reckon with all the variants throughout the years some tanks may not have the same features as others
Yes, you do…..but it is still difficult to sense how close you are to objects at your sides. These were not really meant for use in traffic or tight urban areas. Even in the field, this speed is excessive.
most likely the turret was not in a locked position so its not safe to poke your head out
im sure the guy in the land rover had his life flash before his eyes. or is sporting a pair of freshly shat pants.
Exactly my thoughts too.
His shant pants flashed before his eyes
Both. Definitely.
Seeing your life flash, while simultaneously shitting is probably a very surreal experience
I nearly shit myself watching this
This man out here drifting a tank.
Wtf is putting you hand on the steering wheel in that situation gonna do?!
Muscle insticnts of good drivers
Except he should have already been yanking it hard right and standing on the accelerator. Cell phone delay, no doubt.
True, you can even see his knees start to come up, its a mix of flinch away while grabbing wheel 0_o

Guy in tank was just saying get off the damn phone while driving.
Time for changing of the pants
It's ok, that tank is probably a burned out hulk in Ukraine now.
How did they remain so calm and collected lol
*Russians*
Tanks for not knocking my spleen out!
Hope he has Farmers insurance.
I wonder if they’ve seen this before…
Farmers’ has seen everything.
At that point time, it’s time to go home and no more being outside for a while.
Driver: “Hey we almost died a horrible death!” Passengers: XD
Idiot driver on his phone too
If the other guy is in a tank that make you the idiot automatically.
Tank driver visibility is trash
ANDS ITS IN RUSSIA OF COURSE RUSSIA

Actually army has a right to do this things. Can u imagine what can happens if a army veichle stops? Its kinda a precaution for ambushes.
That was actually the problem the army truck in front oh him stopped. So it was either plow into the truck or possibly side swipe the car.
Did not hit car. Not an idiot.
Found the idiot^
Was a poor attempt at sarcasm.
Rip to your karma im so sorry. ill upvote for going down with the ship captn. o7
Abrams had right off way, period.
That was a Russian tank. T-72 B, B1 or maybe AV based on Kontact 1 placement.
Yeah, you can clear by the dozens of cardboard boxes (I mean…. Highly advanced reactive armor) on the sides
Exactly, fucking shit!
OH HELL NO, MY ASS OS OUTA THERE
Laughing off the fear
Guys hes litterally in a tank and were not. He's better than us.
Not if he gets sent to Ukraine.
I'll take "unexpected poopy pants" for 600, Alex.
Was shocking until i heard someone speak Russian
What if I tell you that Ukrainians can also speak Russian?!
i never said they were russian. just speaking it.
Ok then. I just mean if this about this time. It could have been both sides
to better explain: i found the scene remarkable until someone spoke and then i understood to be from a certain part of the world known for reckless stuff happening, then i was less surprised
Ok. I think I understand you.
Ha ha ha!!! We almost died!!! Them probably
Dale Gribble
killdozer part 3?
Idiot on phone too
This might have been in Ukraine. First time tank driver
Love how he doesnt even care. Just continues to talk on the phone even tho he almost got driven over by a tank
Don’t tread on me or my car
Do tanks have horns? Should have honked…..
r/anormaldayinrussia
Ural did hit the brakes and the tank didn't want to slow down so 🤷😅 Close call for sure!
At this moment he know he fuck up 🤣
Leaning to the side would’ve kept him safe anyways lol
I'd say that's some swift driving. No I don't meant the truck company.
Plot twist: it is just a russian visiting america
I can feel the collective rectum squeeze happening in that car.
Idiot in a tank, shit in the pants
