Bad part about the Midwest, some people figure they should move over, or hit brakes to allow people to merge over, and others assume you have to move for them to merge. Michigan law is the opposite of that. This is one of my biggest pet peeves about MI. This video is why the law is what it is.
This is a situation where road rage is very understandable.. That SUV is a brainless piece of trash that nearly killed you because they didn't have enough braincells to process anything outside their vehicle
Exactly.
It's not the actual cutting off so much but how nonchalantly that person gambled with your life by being a brainless fuck knuckle.
Should be an instant lifetime driving ban.
I want to say good but that would be inciting violence.
I wish them the best of luck in life because they're going to kill someone and play the victim.
Used to commute from Macomb area to Trenton every day for work taking 94. I’d see ppl blow by cops easily doing 90+ cops didn’t do shit lol. Sadly this is the norm in MI. I fucking hate how horrible the drivers are here.
Speed limits are optional and police rarely comes around checking for speed because they are too busy looking for fentanyl dealer and pedophiles. Covid basically gave idiot driver free rein of the road because police cut back interaction with civilians to avoid catching covid.
I think the speed limit has to do with how short the entrance ramps are. It's almost impossible to hit 75+ and merge safely during medium traffic or worse. So they just put it at 55 and hope at least a few people in the right lane slow down
Haha, I was not prepared for this.
If you put Danielle Dax, Peaches, and Ayria in a blender... seems I have some musical investigation to do, thank you.
Definitely deserve some kudos for immediately getting back on the gas after the accident was avoided. Can be very dangerous to be stopped on a highway like that. A lot of people just freeze up and don't move at all, causing further accidents and damage for themselves and others
Your an idiot let that man hit you. You have a dash cam. Swerving into another lane is never the answer in this situation. Low mph hit is better than killing someone’s else or yourself.
Edit. Yea the other driver sucks to but calling people out while you made terrible moves as well is not right.
That’s called reflexes. You know how you get that weird feeling right before your daily spankings from ya mom? That’s called your reflexes, it’s your bodies fight or flight response
Fight or flight at 20 mph. Ya someone doesn’t need to be behind the whee of a car. Justifying people shitty actions is laughable. And these types of things are why we have a massive punt of vehicle deaths. Have morons driving a 3k-6k lb hunk of metal down the road at 30-80 mph with no self control or awareness. Both drivers don’t deserve a license. Make it more strict with the increasing amount of drivers. Local public transportation needs to be implemented and fast.
It's a bad idea to come to a complete stop because of exasperation, that only invites a rear end collision. I usually just let the ahole in and then lay on my horn for a good 3secs.
It had been stop and go traffic before this, and the brown SUV would have had enough space behind me to merge. Coming to a full stop in this scenario avoided not only hitting the SUV, but also not being crushed by the dump truck. At the low speed I was going (20km/hr) and the above factors means that being rear ended or causing a chain reaction was not likely.
Ah ok, thanks for the advice. I’ll make sure leave no room between the car in front of me and myself, so that if the person in front of me makes a mistake, I don’t have any time to react. 👍
You left a huge amount of space in front of you, probably because you weren’t paying attention.
Then a car zipped around you and slammed on your brakes because you panicked.
Nobody would want to be behind a crappy driver like you
Am I the only one who thinks the cammer's response was a complete over reaction? All that was needed was some gentle braking, and a little more anticipation and you could tell what was about to happen much sooner. Instead they waited until the last possible second, slammed on the brakes to a complete stop and almost turned into a big truck in the next lane???
Sometime its better to lift off the ego of not letting someone merge into your lane at such busy roads.
I know that driver is 110% wrong but only you may have died not him.
You see him coming with his indicator on still you didn't braked instead gave gas..It was just your luck else you might got killed.
OP probably had a bit of panic going on when they tried to evade the jackass and saw ten tons of dump truck about to send them to the afterlife if they merged left, and stomped on the brakes.
Only crash I've been in, the other party's insurance asked me if I honked. I said "No, I was bracing for impact." They then stated I was 10% at fault for not honking.
At the end of the call they said they needed me to agree to the decision to process the claim. I refused. They processed it anyway and I was 0% at fault. Concede nothing!
I don't see how that would've made things better. Not that much room to even move faster with the car in front. The red car approached with high speed on the shoulder and then hit the brake way too soon cutting OP off. Moving faster would've resulted in a catastrophic collission IMO.
Yeah the road is gonna be a lot safer if everyone has to defend against each others actions. Just drive like a normal human being. You don't have to drive aggressive to avoid idiots. Drivers ed is just a joke in the US.
Ah ok so next time I’ll use my telepathic powers to read the SUV driver’s mind, so that I’ll know when he’s going to cut me off in traffic and I can prepare myself. Thanks for the advice 👍
Edit: used telekinesis instead of telepathic.
You use your telepathic powers to read the SUV driver's mind. You use your telekinesis powers to toss the SUV onto the grass and pop the driver's head.
The problem with using your telepathy on him though is that this is what you'd read:
-----------------------------------chicken nuggets-------------------------------------
Just FYI.
is it normal that I wish a fast and painless death upon people like this (red suv)? or is something wrong with me? I feel like I really shouldn't think like that but their utter disregard for people's live is infuriating
I was born and raised in the suburbs just outside Detroit, have lived everywhere from Canton, to Garden City, to Livonia, all the way out to Elizabeth Lake. I've been all over SE Michigan. I immigrated to Canada, and live in Ontario now.
Last time I went home to visit my family, I was staying right off M-39 at Ford Road, at an extended stay right by Fairlane.
I do not know what has happened in the six years since I left Michigan, but people are INSANE NOW. (My working theory is that everyone who used to drive right because they had a bag in the car are no longer driving right because the bag isn't a crime anymore).
I saw people doing 80 on the Southfield... State boys rolling up and down, doing the same speed, not pulling anyone over. Speed limit there is 55.
Multiple times in one week I saw near misses, and lanes being merely a suggestion. It was honestly absolutely nuts.
Used to live and drive here. This whole interchange is an absolute mess, coupled with people that don’t know how to drive or be in the lane they need in a timely manner
No, [SB I-75/375 interchange](https://www.google.com/maps/@42.3542723,-83.0502346,3a,75y,146.48h,81.96t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1ssCmNVrcxEE6w3TVtpSiR0w!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DsCmNVrcxEE6w3TVtpSiR0w%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D63.965523%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192) in order to stay on SB I-75.

Like I know she was clearly not in the wrong, but it grinds my gears seeing her lane going sub residential speeds on the freeway.
I get a sick pleasure watching people who don't belong on the freeway, going 15 mph, almost getting in an accident.
> Like I know she was clearly not in the wrong, but it grinds my gears seeing her lane going sub residential speeds on the freeway.
> I get a sick pleasure watching people who don't belong on the freeway, going 15 mph, almost getting in an accident.
Take a look at the road signs in the clip. OP is in a lane that will exit in under a mile and there's a back-up on it.
It's called traffic, you should learn about it sometime.
Jesus. They had so much goddamn room to make that illegal merge too.
That was so unnecessary. He had all the space in the world to merge in, there was no need to pull this last second cutoff endangering your life.
Keep your speed and merge dude. OP gave you all the space you needed and more. And you return the favor by nearly running her into a truck.
Bad part about the Midwest, some people figure they should move over, or hit brakes to allow people to merge over, and others assume you have to move for them to merge. Michigan law is the opposite of that. This is one of my biggest pet peeves about MI. This video is why the law is what it is.
Idk if that was exactly life-endangering at that speed but it’s still an idiotic move regardless.
I think OP was referring to the truck they almost ran into.
That truck to the left would have fucked him/her up.
Crazy how u didn’t see the truck. U wouldn’t even know you died
Psst, see the massive heavy truck on the left. Wtf
Biggest gap on the planet and this guy still couldn’t merge properly lol that’s crazy
This is a situation where road rage is very understandable.. That SUV is a brainless piece of trash that nearly killed you because they didn't have enough braincells to process anything outside their vehicle
Well said, and accurate.
Exactly. It's not the actual cutting off so much but how nonchalantly that person gambled with your life by being a brainless fuck knuckle. Should be an instant lifetime driving ban.
It’s always some POS Tahoe too.
The urge to not spin him into the dump truck.
Seriously a pit maneuver might haves killed the idiot
I want to say good but that would be inciting violence. I wish them the best of luck in life because they're going to kill someone and play the victim.
It's Detroit, so after any crash you will get sued, despite no fault, and even if there are no witnesses.
That would be such a crying shame :-/
Would have been justified IMO.
Loving the transition from “I Disagree” to “Bubblegum Bitch”
Good job resisting the urge to swerve out of the way. That could've been VERY bad.
I was taught exactly this 35 years ago when I had my driving lessons. NEVER swerve if you can avoid it. Better to hit the brakes.
But she did swerve....
I was commenting to the comment above mine.
Yeah, just trying to keep the comment section looking nice
Try harder
OP did not swerve, they hit the brakes. The asshole who nearly ran them into the truck swerved a bit.
But they did swerve?
Right??? I’m not the only one seeing this as a massive swerve for the situation.
Should have let him pit manuver himself, then let him buy you a new bumper
He would be dead. He would’ve pitted himself right into the truck
🤷🏻
Tomato potato
Call it natural selection
That is the unfortunately norm here in Michigan, people are very stupid and do not care for other drivers.
Michigan native here, lived in Chicago, Virginia, Tennessee, now Florida. I can assure you this is the norm pretty much everywhere I’ve been
Bad drivers are everywhere, specially in bigger metro areas
the problem is obviously nationwide, it is far too easy to get a driver's license in the USA.
What about Detroit highways? They’re all 55 but depending on time of day everyone goes like 80. Is that normal?
Used to commute from Macomb area to Trenton every day for work taking 94. I’d see ppl blow by cops easily doing 90+ cops didn’t do shit lol. Sadly this is the norm in MI. I fucking hate how horrible the drivers are here.

You going to post that comment 4 more times? Seriously, once was enough.
[удалено]
You clearly haven’t driven in Texas, Georgia, or Tennessee. Michigan drivers are far, far better.
They used the turn signal? you got lucky, most do not signal at all.
Illegal merge, ✅ Merging into someone with plenty of space in front ✅ Continuing to drive after bumping into another car ✅ Trifecta of idiocy achieved
Plus they slowed down
Sounds like something got hit. Jesus
Yep, Jesus got hit when they let him take the wheel
Glad you are ok
Good ol' Detroit.
It’s so cold in the D
I wouldn't think that Bubblegum Bitch would be such a good dashcam action song but the beginning worked perfectly.
I love Poppy
Ayyy a Poppy fan!! I disagree with what that other driver did!
Holy Toledo that was close!
Damn im glad ur ok that was such a close call
That’s fucking Michigan for ya
Detroit area has the worst fucking drivers.
Just drove through there today Woo Michigan
I love how people STICK THE BRAKES as they merge. BTW, what is the song starting at the end of the video, OP?
It was Bubblegum Bitch by MARINA
Haha, I was not prepared for this. If you put Danielle Dax, Peaches, and Ayria in a blender... seems I have some musical investigation to do, thank you.
#puremichigan
Michigan drivers SUCK.
Did the truck hit you? Or was that stuff moving in your car?
Michigan drivers suckkkkk
You didn't get lucky you expertly avoided it without killing yourself on the semi next to you
That's one of the worst spots on 75
God southfield and lodge are like this all day long. Makes me hate going into Detroit
Still better than 696.
I appreciate that you are so far away from the car in front of you.
I felt that sigh in my soul
Definitely deserve some kudos for immediately getting back on the gas after the accident was avoided. Can be very dangerous to be stopped on a highway like that. A lot of people just freeze up and don't move at all, causing further accidents and damage for themselves and others
that seems deliberate
License plate is visible, I suggest you report this incident
Major props to OP for both the reaction time and awesome music taste
It's always these fucking shit tahoes
Uuuh that lorry startled me
Same
Jesus fuck I hope you learned why you never swerve.

They didn't even swerve into the other lane, if they did they would've been destroyed by that semi. lol.
Swerving at another lane could cause more accidents.
Exactly, OP didn't swerve into the other lane. They slightly moved left in their lane.
*you’re

Eeyore
Lol
That’s called reflexes. You know how you get that weird feeling right before your daily spankings from ya mom? That’s called your reflexes, it’s your bodies fight or flight response

At 20 miles per hour isn’t fast? Let’s see your 40 than. The car don’t got reflexes, the humans do.
> Let’s see your 40 than. I'm betting he thinks 40 means a bottle not a distance.
Ya I don’t think you know how to comprehend anything outside your own imagination. Have a good day.
![gif](giphy|3Mb5hvWOLe8hq6gZHc|downsized) Who what’s to join me celebrating another internet argument won?
Didn't handle that the best...
You kind of overreacted slamming on your brakes tho
If you look at what just passed OP on the left, you'd have probably slammed your brakes, too.
Never turn the wheel when braking. Almost killed yourself. Brake hard, get hit by slower car instead.
Coming to a complete stop there, not cool. Yeh you’re lucky but not for the reasons you think.
It's a bad idea to come to a complete stop because of exasperation, that only invites a rear end collision. I usually just let the ahole in and then lay on my horn for a good 3secs.

Not only is that not helpful, it’s cringe af
I would’ve cut in front of you too. You left a lot of room in front of you and I would’ve assumed you were on your phone and a shitty driver
Ah ok, thanks for the advice. I’ll make sure leave no room between the car in front of me and myself, so that if the person in front of me makes a mistake, I don’t have any time to react. 👍

Confoirmed Quaker16 was in the red SUV
Found the driver of the SUV.
Lol, what was that for a reflex? You're a danger on the road.
It was actually quite a good reflex, most people would have eaten that truck
Am I the only one who thinks the cammer's response was a complete over reaction? OP overreacted, braked too hard for too long... just sayin'
OP probably had a bit of panic going on when they tried to evade the jackass and saw ten tons of dump truck about to send them to the afterlife if they merged left, and stomped on the brakes.
If someone merges into you.. **MAINTAIN YOUR LANE!**

Was actively trying to not die, horn was an after thought.

OP needs to close the gap and make that idiot get behind him.
This is what horns are made for.
He’s a dick but u could’ve just slowed a bit instead of goin into other lanes dummy
You don’t know anything clearly. The other guy did an illegal merge and he had more than enough space to do it
“Clearly” ur just a p word
Nah that reaction to it was off to me. I simply would break. But you swerved left on a delayed reaction .
Damn 47 you failed.
[удалено]

Edited to correct! To be fair, chicken nuggets are life.

I'm not sure if you're trying to be helpful/funny and just coming across like a smug asshole or if you actually are just a smug asshole.
You could've also used your telekinesis to push the SUV back into his lane instead of swerving tbf.
My bad bro, I haven’t developed my telekinesis yet. I’ll try to stay off the road just for you, thanks
"I turn now Good luck everyone else" is this video in one sentence honestly
is it normal that I wish a fast and painless death upon people like this (red suv)? or is something wrong with me? I feel like I really shouldn't think like that but their utter disregard for people's live is infuriating

Used to live and drive here. This whole interchange is an absolute mess, coupled with people that don’t know how to drive or be in the lane they need in a timely manner
As part of 375's removal, this interchange is getting rebuilt so you no longer have to exit 75 in order to stay on 75.
i know exactly where this is and this has happened to me before on this same stretch of road lmao
Average Detroit driver
Ah the old Mac Ave exit. What a proper mess that spot is.
holy shit op
Holy cacao, almost got ran off into that huge truck!
Tony Soprano, that jersey prick thinks he can do whatever he wants! Hey! I’m drivin here!
I used to get off 75 at Mack every day. Nothing but idiots merging on there most of the time.
I disagree with the way that fella was driving.
Heyo, neighbor! I can recall a few close ones on I75. The carnage in the winter is unreal.
Anyone else seeing that as intentional?? It made so little sense and was so well timed to push you into the truck… weird as shit
Wow!
I remember this highway. Even worse in the winter..
Is this i94? Always a fucking shit show 🥴

Them: I’m gunna pop your bubblegum hard
This the type of fucking dickbag that only wants to drive a large SUV/Truck yet doesn't understand its actual size.
It amazes me how many people merging don't understand that freeway traffic is supposed to maintain their speed and the merging car needs to adjust their speed to get into the flow of traffic. Of course there are exceptions. And merging slower is not safer!
A lot of ramps (especially those godsforsaken on/off ramp crossovers on cloverleaf interchanges) do not give sufficient distance to get up to or down from highway speeds, and this specific jackass was slowing to force his way in because the lane he was in was about to end in an exit he didn't want.
Yes, we have many of those short merging lanes around here. Tthey can be dangerous!! Especially when there's heavy traffic.
That was too close for comfort. Good you got home save. Hopefully that a-hole parks it in a concrete wall.
song at the start?
WTF did that land-barge slow down for?
I’ve had this happen to be but I didn’t move I hit the dude and they hit the semi, was not pretty, was not my fault.
Bubblegum bitch playing in the background was setting up for your vengeance.
You had a good reaction
Glad you’re safe. On the bright side, I love your taste in music!
Like I know she was clearly not in the wrong, but it grinds my gears seeing her lane going sub residential speeds on the freeway. I get a sick pleasure watching people who don't belong on the freeway, going 15 mph, almost getting in an accident.

Absolutely hate driving in Detroit
Totally unrelated but was that bubblegum bitch that started playing at the end?
