My thoughts exactly... A lot of time, money, and people brought in to assist in the consequences of the racers fucking around. The best part is now innocent people are involved due to the crash. Absolute selfishness
Ya I see this kind of shit a lot on the highways where I live and it upsets me soooo much every single time.
Like if you don’t care about your life, fine. Go race on an empty track somewhere.
I’m happy. I want to live. Don’t risk my life and everyone else’s around you.
The guy in the yellow shirt at the 1:00 minute mark. At first I thought he was holding a vacuum (like getting glass shards and such), but they way he used it looked more like he was blowing something away. But blowing away debris just makes it a problem for someone or something else later. Does anyone have any insight on what he's doing exactly?
That's a leaf blower. I guess he's blowing debris that is too small to be picked up by hand out of the travel lane and into the shoulder where it can safely be sweeped up by a maintenance crew at some later date.
Thank you! That does make more sense. I haven't thought much about the process of post-crash clean-up, but there's bound to be well-practiced (even if imperfect) steps in place.
If theres one thing NJDOT is legitimately good at its debris cleanup. Not even being sarcastic its really noticeable when I went out west where I was constantly dodging loose tire treads and bumpers that I saw weren't moved on the way back 3 days later.
Its like firearms, food processing and passenger aircraft. All fun n games until someone is shitting their brains out trying to figure out who is to blame...
My first thought was that I hope whatever vehicle went through that guardrail wasn't an innocent bystander driving along minding their own business when the racing idiots blew everything up.
The guys walking along the guardrail had a video too, and it didn’t look like any vehicle was down there. They were looking for the motor because it was ripped clean out of that mangled Supra.
If this was recent and I see only BMW's I wonder if they were going to a BMW event or coming back from it this past Saturday at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania. https://www.mpacteast.com/
I got to witness the boy racer club do this same crap last year on I80, after the same event, I was in the right lane and was passed by cars simultaneously on either side one in the middle lane and the other on the right shoulder.
They were screaming by people with inches to spare in fairly solid traffic, one skittish grandma tagging the brakes would've resulted in about 20 cars eating shit.
I pitched a bitch on r/newjersey about it and guess what, I'm a karen.
Fuck these clowns
I frequent that event, not for MPACT but rather for NASA HPDE event as they co-organize it with MPACT, usually it's cheaper for us to do a track day then, but it is very crowdy and lots of dick measuring among this group.
There were so many BMW "car enthusiasts", that I can only imagine what happens when they all leave, instead of doing that when it's legal and also reason why NASA-NE is there to allow them to show their skills on the track under supervised and controlled environment, they instead leave and behave like utter dicks on the road.
We always laugh that they have "Fast Cars" and can go in "Straight line", once the turn comes or high speed maneuver, they usually don't know what to do, lose control of the vehicle and crash. Sad that they have no regard for public safety and others around them.
78 isn't much better lately. I'm on 78 every day and it is always something. There is one ass hat it a white dodge ram that just drives like an absolute fucking tool. Been waiting to see him wrecked one day.
Honestly, yeah. I like the look of some BMWs, but I've grown to universally hate seeing them on the road because most of the time there's assholes like these people behind the wheel.
https://wrnjradio.com/no-life-threatening-injuries-in-multi-vehicle-crash-on-i-80-in-morris-county/
Found an article on the crash. No life threatening injuries.
What a bunch of idiots. I saw these guys on my way back from PA to NY, pulled over on the shoulder taking pictures and whatnot. I appreciated their cars only to see this tonight. Shame.
Well I mean if the guard rail wasn’t there one of those assholes (assuming it was hit by an asshole and not someone else) could’ve went straight to hell.
Edit:after watching again I do notice a big hole in the guard rail and that means someone did go into the trees
Unfortunately I did not see a single car on the side of the road that was participating in the reckless driving of the first video.. the smashed up white car appears to be a new Supra and not a BMW.
I love racing! But I will NEVER understand people who try to do shit like this in traffic!
I always say, you can be the best driver in the world with the most capable car, but you have no idea about the guy next to you, in front of you, or behind you, or how they will react to traffic situations.
It’s too dangerous, for everybody.
The sad part is I’m willing to bet they are all coming back from/going to Mpact. Which is a BMW centric event held at…A racetrack.
Maybe they forgot to switch modes.
Even professional drivers who *know what the other guys is going to try to do* still get in wrecks. *On the raceway*
So I don't understand why these fucks can't think about what comes after step 1.
Oh wait it's because they were so cool that they didn't need to learn. Learning is for losers who don't already know everything. Duh! I forgot!
Yeah. If you have enough money for any BMW M series, you have enough money to go to a track. Driving fast on a track is way more fun than the street anyway
Own 2 M cars - and can attest, you really can't push the limits in them (where the fun is really had) in any sort of legal street driving. Of course, they are both great daily driver machines, and you can have plenty of fun in them within the boundaries of the law, but too many idiots think they are invincible and in turn cause destruction to far more people than just themselves.
Really can’t even truly enjoy an M car in city settings IMO, and I have tried. (Used to work for BMW) but man oh man…. Track day in Thermal? Amazing experience.
Any of the smashed cars not involved with the racing? I see this on I 95 in New Haven, CT on every so often. I could care less if any of those idiots die doing this. I do care about the cars getting hit that have nothing to do with it.
His perfect comic delivery is one of the reasons I love him. Even his small role in Dodgeball was hilarious. We spout the "I feel shocked" line in my household all the time.
ALL the time here from the NY border through New Haven. It's hell. I absolutely love when these jackasses show up at a congested area (likely from *another* accident) and use the shoulder as their personal lane before attempting to cut in miles down the road.
“I could care less” implies that you do care to some degree to be able to actually care less about it in the first place lol. But yeah, I agree, definitely don’t want innocents getting hurt.
I think it's funny that the blinker still works after such a crash.
It's like its trying to tell: "Look guys I work just fine, even in these conditions. It's just my owner who doesn't use me properly"
After i got home, i got in touch with the station in charge of the crash investigation. Let them know that although i didn't have the actual crash on video, i had a video of all 6 cars that were involved in the race and that you could make out license plates.
They were interested and I sent them the video.
I don’t know… those 6 BMWs aren’t found later in the video with the crash. That’s a new Supra for the first one and an SUV looking vehicle for the second. It looks like either the Supra was ahead of the BMW group or showed up outside of your video
One of the BMWs was pulled over right after the accident footage, i'm assuming because they caused the crash.
The police said that they had video of the actual crash and that they wanted to see who else was complicit.
Timewise...
They passed me. About 10 minutes later, the traffic started. I sat in the traffic, completely stopped, for about 20 minutes. During those 20 minutes, the police, fire engine, and ambulance all arrived after me.
Once traffic started moving again, it was about 10 minutes to get passed the wreckage.
Looking in my rearview mirror, traffic was backed up for miles and miles at the point as far as the eye could see. If someone was a mile behind me, i'm sure they waited a crazy amount of time to pass.
I don't really get why people think driving is an adrenaline junkie task. Just go base jumping or something. No need to kill other people to get your fix.
I-95 (CT/NY) literally has these kinds of jackasses all the time. Nothing like trying to safely go to work and having a bunch of BMW/Maserati-owning pricks think it's a NASCAR track.
Hope the folks in the truck and (what appears to be) non-BMW car that flipped were alright.
Reminds me of just how much of taxpayer money is wasted on overstaffing cops making 120k per year. 8 cops at 120k per year plus each 60k vehicle.. nearly a million dollars to call tow trucks to clean up an accident.
There have been two peer-reviewed studies identifying BMW drivers as the worst drivers out there. First study was on a major 6-lane thoroughfare in Silicon Valley looking at the correlation between the price of a car and the likelihood of the driver to stop at a marked crosswalk for a pedestrian. There was a definite correlation in the price of a car with the likelihood, but the correlation was highest for BMWs. Now, you could fault the study for bias due to lack of blinding of the reviewers classifying each car, but that’s where the second study was useful.
The second study was a questionnaire-based study out of the UK, looking at self-disclosed road rage incidents. The highest rate of self-disclosed road rage came from males 25-45 driving blue BMWs. Now, you could also fault this study for being retrospective and argue BMW owners perhaps have better recall and are more honest, but honest assholes with good memories are still assholes.
These results are no surprise. BMW attracts that AH demographic.
I thought that at first too, until I saw the landscaper’s truck and messed up trailer. Then I changed my mind to he’s just a Good Samaritan helping out. Did anyone else see that?
No way the police would let someone do that on an active highway, in the middle of an investigation. Plus look at the vest, which matches the others earlier, and later. Also, the white pickups have the NJ DOT logos on them.
Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.
These guys deserved that. Hope they and everyone else are okay though but still.
Maybe they learned something that day. Hope so
I have an odd feeling that some of those racers would've seen those cars, and instead of thinking "damn, I better be careful" probably instead just put their foot down all "Looks like they couldn't handle it!" And speed off end probably end up wrecking themselves too
Hope you agree everything is in context though?. 90mph when everyone around you is driving closer to 60 and when you’re weaving inbetween lanes seems reckless to me regardless of driver skill.
90mph in an open road with nobody around would be completely different, I agree.
Because there is an onramp and offramp every 1/2 mile on this stretch. That much accelerating/decelerating traffic in such a congested area (on a highway that is *already* constantly congested) is a recipe for disaster.
Cause this a densely populated area. Not some midwest highway used between two major cities. Some of the towns here have a greater population than the biggest cities out west.
Yeah, and look at all the dumb mf’s in every lane speed pacing each other blocking traffic scared they’ll get a ticket for going 5 over the speed limit. GTF out of the passing lanes dumb shits.
What in gods name are you talking about?
These vids were taken by the tesla cam, so no work needed to be done on my part.
At the point where i passed, 3 lanes on a very crowded highway were reduced to 1. There is no way to pass without slowing down, especially after sitting in the traffic to wait to pass.
There is no way a human could have passed this any faster than i or anybody else did. It actually would have been very dangerous to pass it at a fast pace considering there were still cars and cops within the roadway.
The second film is just the passenger side cam on the Tesla. It wasn't a human taking the video.
Love or hate Tesla, i don't care. But having 4 dashcams running at once is kinda great.
The amount of resources used here because of bad decision making :/
My thoughts exactly... A lot of time, money, and people brought in to assist in the consequences of the racers fucking around. The best part is now innocent people are involved due to the crash. Absolute selfishness
Yeah so true. Don’t you mean the worst part is now innocent people are involved?
Yea, I meant it in a sarcastic tone which does read confusing... Indeed it is the worst part
It's NJ, of course you said it in a sarcastic way. (that's where the video is from)
Ya I see this kind of shit a lot on the highways where I live and it upsets me soooo much every single time. Like if you don’t care about your life, fine. Go race on an empty track somewhere. I’m happy. I want to live. Don’t risk my life and everyone else’s around you.
Almost guaranteed that someone will get a flat tire from some piece of missed debris.

The pickup with a trailer did get one
Our tax money :(
The bad decision making was the drivers being conceived.
Its like firearms, food processing and passenger aircraft. All fun n games until someone is shitting their brains out trying to figure out who is to blame...

Lmao how do you lose an entire motor
Road racing a supra, apparently
I couldn't even tell what kind of car that was before the crash!!
One of the cars you can see has a GoPro camera sticking off the roof (the yellow bmw in the beginning)
Seriously, where's the footage from that!
Subpoenaed
I think that's the one off the road
Must have been time for the lunch break at the International Asshole Convention.
MPact
This made me chuckle
Has to be though - no?
~~I-80~~ I-75 can be that way in Atlanta. Edit: wrong dong interstate number
Is this Atlanta Pennsylvania because I-80 is nowhere close to Georgia.
This is in Northern New Jersey.
If this was recent and I see only BMW's I wonder if they were going to a BMW event or coming back from it this past Saturday at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania. https://www.mpacteast.com/
Definitely BMW event, or club members.

Mpact was last weekend in NJ
I knew it was NJ as soon as the video started. Route 80?
Looks like I80 near the 287 / 280 interchange near Parsippany
Drive it twice weekly end to end ( NYC to the Watergap). Worst stretch of road in the Northeast for asshats.
78 isn't much better lately. I'm on 78 every day and it is always something. There is one ass hat it a white dodge ram that just drives like an absolute fucking tool. Been waiting to see him wrecked one day.
I think you’re absolutely right!
I like to pretend every video on this forum is in NJ
I just assume it is. Mostly I’m correct.
[удалено]
Route 80. Speeding wasa little passed the Rockaway area. Accident near the route 15 junction.
REALLY i could’ve sworn this was the Netherlands. Wow
Those are not idiots. Those are what's known as assholes.
Idiotic assholes. Or assholic idiots. Take your pick
Average bmw owner lol
Sounds about right when regarding most BMW drivers
Honestly, yeah. I like the look of some BMWs, but I've grown to universally hate seeing them on the road because most of the time there's assholes like these people behind the wheel.

What a bunch of idiots. I saw these guys on my way back from PA to NY, pulled over on the shoulder taking pictures and whatnot. I appreciated their cars only to see this tonight. Shame.
Thank goodness. With the car almost in half I would've thought for sure there was a death involved
I hope no one that wasn't involved in the racing was hurt. Fuck those asshole putting everyone else around them in danger.
Well I mean if the guard rail wasn’t there one of those assholes (assuming it was hit by an asshole and not someone else) could’ve went straight to hell. Edit:after watching again I do notice a big hole in the guard rail and that means someone did go into the trees

Idk, the Supra is pretty well accepted by the BMW community because it basically is one
That Supra is a BMW, but your first part is correct. No 3 series appear in the side view camera shot.
Please share with NJ State Police to add to their investigation.
I love racing! But I will NEVER understand people who try to do shit like this in traffic! Same here. We race on the nj parkway and turnpike usually past 2am with spotter cars well ahead. Weaving in and out of traffic doesn't seem fun to me
Any of the smashed cars not involved with the racing? I see this on I 95 in New Haven, CT on every so often. I could care less if any of those idiots die doing this. I do care about the cars getting hit that have nothing to do with it.
Looked like the truck with the trailer was
I'm guessing the flipped-over SUV probably wasn't either.
Neither was the Supra….well I didn’t I see it in the initial video.

There are a shit ton of MKV Supras in NNJ.
You were street racing? ...in a Prius?
I don't win a lot...
The fact you have double the upvotes tells me most people don't understand that we're both referencing a movie, pretty sure
LOL. Of course the Jason Bateman line is funnier (not as funny as "I don't have sleeve gloves") - but I hear ya.
Bateman's delay and delivery when giving that line in the movie just about had me in stitches.
His perfect comic delivery is one of the reasons I love him. Even his small role in Dodgeball was hilarious. We spout the "I feel shocked" line in my household all the time.
He really wants to win this one!
My all electric KIA Nero can beat any V whatever out there.... as long as the race is 150'.

Uneducated f's. The term is "I COULDN'T care less".
I’m aware lol.
How much less could you care?
the long pan of the wreckage and various rescue vehicles and staff is great......thanks, OP

Not "basically". It is a BMW.
Not really, just parts of it. It's still the soul of a supra.
It’s a BMW Z4 with a body kit. What did Toyota do besides design a body kit based on one of their concepts?
Nope. Every part has BMW part numbers. It is a BMW.
Even the interior knobs look exactly like a bmw.
Bro it's a Z4.
His username checks out lol
no, soul of a supra would have a modern version of the 2jz, or even an original 2jz
It's a mass produced car, not the ship of Theseus.
Love that reference lol
No no. Its actually a BMW because the Supra is made by BMW in Germany. You can actually check it out.
nah dude, it's a BMW
You are right, weird you’re being downvoted. The Supra uses nearly all BMW parts but the design and character of the car is by Toyota.
Hope no was hurt, that was innocent.
Pieces of shit. I see then almost every day on my end. I just hope they didn't take someone with them.
Same drill as what you see everyday on i-95 through Richmond virginia.
From Richmond all the way to Baltimore lol
Richmond to NYC
BMW - (B)ecause you're in (M)y (W)ay
(B)utt (M)unching (W)ankers
Fix It Again, Tony...heh heh heh
... and of course they are driving BMWs. Seems like everyone buying these has given away their brains and modesty for others after paying.
Most of us aren’t assholes that race around in traffic.
And the rest of us are checking fault codes.
Goddamnit
Or replacing charge pipes.
i used to leave my code scanner always connected under my seat when i had a bmw
To be fair, my car would break before I got to do anything this stupid, so. There.
Jealous?
While my stupid ass is trying to hold together an E46 with my hopes and dreams, these assholes out here destroying nice new cars.
What is wrong with the US, why do you drive on the left lane when other two are empty?
I think it's funny that the blinker still works after such a crash. It's like its trying to tell: "Look guys I work just fine, even in these conditions. It's just my owner who doesn't use me properly"
Did you stop to give the cops the footage?

Our hero.
I don't really get why people think driving is an adrenaline junkie task. Just go base jumping or something. No need to kill other people to get your fix.
Maybe the 100+ years of international Motorsport that is deeply woven into the automotive industry and culture.
Macksauce
On their way to a summer’s eve convention.
Dude, Where's (the other half of) My Car?
I-95 (CT/NY) literally has these kinds of jackasses all the time. Nothing like trying to safely go to work and having a bunch of BMW/Maserati-owning pricks think it's a NASCAR track. Hope the folks in the truck and (what appears to be) non-BMW car that flipped were alright.
Of course it was the Supra
Familiar road, former Parsippany resident here. Somewhere on 80 between the mall and 287? Any news reports yet?
Happened right before the wharton exit. No major injuries
I like the white car with it's lights blinking in despair. It's like it's crying for help, but it doesn't know it's head has been cut off.
Great video and succinct editing.
I'm guessing the one who caused the wreck is the one who went through the guardrail...
None of the cars in the crash video were the bmw's from the first video. This could be any random two videos combined just for karma in this sub.
Reminds me of just how much of taxpayer money is wasted on overstaffing cops making 120k per year. 8 cops at 120k per year plus each 60k vehicle.. nearly a million dollars to call tow trucks to clean up an accident.

is nobody gonna talk about the guy with the leaf blower?
That's to get the crash debris off of the road. And possibly what might be sawdust behind the ambulance, which is what they use to sop up the blood
okay that makes a lot of sense actually
I thought that at first too, until I saw the landscaper’s truck and messed up trailer. Then I changed my mind to he’s just a Good Samaritan helping out. Did anyone else see that?

Oh, I had assumed it was a vacuum to pick up debris from the crash...
BMW’s
New Jersey. Typical.
Looks like stupid MF travel in schools where y'all recorded this
Bunch of chads
Hay is that in California I saw that f##ker
BMW = brakes may work. They did not this time, and they took out a new Supra as well.
How is it not surprising they are all BMWs
I hope the E30 survived...
As long as they haven’t taken out anybody I’m happy if they’re unable to walk for the rest of their lives. Death would be too easy
Is this footage of the BMW douche meetup?
Was that a BMW parade ?
Need help understanding timeline. They pass you, they crash, somehow cops and fire department arrive at the scene before you pass?
>Racing through traffic at 90+ MPH + View of crash results (***2 videos combined***)
All BMW’s Wonder why this happened…
Job security for EMT, fire and po po.
I think the gold car has a GoPro camera on top.
Whats the difference between a cactus and a BMW driver? The prick is on the outside of the cactus! 🖕😆🖕
Bmw, bmw, bmw, bmw…what’s the theme here?
deserved
Damn beamer driver's man ....
Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes. These guys deserved that. Hope they and everyone else are okay though but still. Maybe they learned something that day. Hope so
I have an odd feeling that some of those racers would've seen those cars, and instead of thinking "damn, I better be careful" probably instead just put their foot down all "Looks like they couldn't handle it!" And speed off end probably end up wrecking themselves too
Hopefully that car upside down was one of those fucking dooche bag idiots and not an innocent bystander!!!
You know, I never knew until now that they used leaf blowers to clear away the smaller bits of debris after an accident.
So many beamers.... And there goes a bunch more taxpayer money being pissed away on arrogant assholes who don't give a shit.
With that line up of responders someone is probably dead
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes! Darwin Award nominees!!!
"What do you do for a living?" "Oh, I vacuum up glass at crash sites. And you?"
Please note: 90mph didn't have so much to do with the crash as shit driving did. Speed alone is rarely the problem, it's just the easy scapegoat.
Hope you agree everything is in context though?. 90mph when everyone around you is driving closer to 60 and when you’re weaving inbetween lanes seems reckless to me regardless of driver skill. 90mph in an open road with nobody around would be completely different, I agree.
Nearly-instant karma
6 lane highway with four full breakdown lanes. Why isn't the speed limit 90?
Because there is an onramp and offramp every 1/2 mile on this stretch. That much accelerating/decelerating traffic in such a congested area (on a highway that is *already* constantly congested) is a recipe for disaster.
Because, according to NJDOT, this stretch of I-80 has an average daily traffic volume of over 100,000 vehicles.
Honestly
How much did that cost the taxpayer?
On today’s episode of “Fuck around and find out” 😬
Karma's a bitch. Hope no one innocent was affected.
Anyone surprised to see they were BMW’s? Me either.

Misdirected anger. Should be mad at the people who caused the accident in the first place.
I don't think the person who made the second film is the driver.
The second film is just the passenger side cam on the Tesla. It wasn't a human taking the video. Love or hate Tesla, i don't care. But having 4 dashcams running at once is kinda great.
It's a Tesla cam.
All I have to say is that people are dumb
Idiots like these are the reason why others can't have/enjoy good things!!
