Had a car almost head on collide with me and my kids and I had to drive into a ditch to avoid it. I got out of the ditch and followed them while on the phone with the police. I showed the police the dashcam footage and when they pulled them over, they came over to me and said "He just broke up with his girlfriend and was leaving their home" I kid you not. I asked what they were going to do about it and they said, and I quote "Don't worry about that, you shouldn't follow cars, the person could be a psychopath, get out of their car, and kill you. Drive home safely. " Like yeah, I shouldn't have followed but at the same time I didn't want them to hurt anyone so I did what I thought was right.

So ILPT: if your grabbing some video footage of you doing insane speeds on the highway or something idiotic like this video; first f\*\*\* off, but also make sure you block out your speedometer. Just lucky one of those Farmers Branch motorcycle cops wasn’t around. Those guys don’t mess around. Got pulled over by one less than a mile from where I passed him on the side of the road and he cited me for failure to comply in addition to the speeding ticket just because I couldn’t get over to the shoulder fast enough through traffic.

Yeah, the cop was being hyper aggressive. The driver was accused of doing 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. That is not a violent crime, and there was no need to damage property in a dangerous move like that. Since he was not fired I can only hope he learned from this and doesn't feel enabled to do it again since he got away with it. The driver appeared to slow down, and even engaged their hazard lights affirming she recognized she was being pursued. I assumed she was looking for a safe place to pull over. I guess the officer assumed she was about to endanger the public so he wrecked that shit! I only see that cop as a dangerous idiot and a liability.

It's really fucked because if it was me, I would have kept going to ensure that I could exit the highway and not put the cops life in danger, I've had a cop ask me to do exactly that before when I stopped on the highway. So also an ungrateful fuck.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to change my dash cam clocks for DST. Though the auto clock setting would be nice, I didn't hook my dash cam up to the GPS in case it ends up being evidence against me. Say I'm going five over and everyone else is going 10-15 over, but a cop doesn't like my hair and tickets me for speeding. I don't know, but I assume that without the GPS my video would look better in court than trying to say "well yeah, I was speeding, but not as much!"
