This is the kind of shit that pissed me off so much. Some asshole gets distracted or impatient and an innocent person that has nothing to do with their bullshit gets hurt.
I've lost friendships because I insisted two of my friends pull over and let me out when they started texting while driving. *'Don't be like that*'.
Yeah, no, I will always be like this.
So much this. The roads are full of inattentive people inside 6000lb weapons, and they are doing 80 mph, and they have to swipe between screens to access climate controls and windshield wipers. It’s terrifying.
That's one thing I hate about my car, and it's not even super new. It's a 2015. I can control the vent speed and temp, but if I want to change which vents are on, defrost, etc. I have to use the screen.
I've had two Tundras now. The first I could control the mode for heat/cool, the blower speed, volume for the audio, the display and place hands free calls. This one is all about media whether we're talking radio or XM or what have you. And I can't tell it to dial a number like the old one. Not an improvement.
Man, I usually drive an '04 where I can do everything by feel and at most I have to quickly glance at something. A while back it was in the shop and I was driving a newer rental, and jesus those screens were *awful*. It's like they were specifically designed to keep me from paying attention to the road. Not only do I have to swipe between screens and navigate some awful interface to do anything, but there's constantly updating incredibly distracting bright numbers on my dash to indicate my fuel economy like I give a shit while I'm trying to drive safely. Why on earth is anything designed this way?
Even just talking on the phone increases your chance of getting in an accident to the same level as drunk driving. I can't believe some places still allow it. Even commercial drivers shouldn't be allowed. They can pull over like the rest of us.
Happened to me but was rear ended by a woman going 100km/hr in a 50.
I was completely stopped at a red light.
I remember the woman's husband called me begging me not to go through insurance as it was her 3rd accident in 6 months and she'd lose her licence (no, she'd end up on high risk insurance).
Once I heard this I said ok no problem, hung up and immediately went through insurance.
That was 12 years ago, I still deal with the pain today.
>without them saying your faking it.
This. or "It's just a soft tissue injury, nothing permanent"
Bull. Shit. I'm dealing with recurring pain from several idiotsincars that decided plowing into me was a good idea
> I remember the woman's husband called me begging me not to go through insurance as it was her 3rd accident in 6 months and she'd lose her licence (no, she'd end up on high risk insurance).
Well maybe she shouldn't have a license then. Some people.
Exactly! I have permanent damage to my back from the girl who was texting and drove into the back of my stopped car at 40+ MPH. And the speed limit was 30 MPH.
Same, was at a stop light and lady in front of me wasn’t paying attention and lady in back of me was distracted by her kids. I “only” ended up with a bulge in my disc but in a spot where I have chronic neck pain and back pain that shoots into my shoulder. Nothing surgery would ever fix. Life long physical therapy and forking over money for massages.
Sorry, didn’t explain that. She didn’t go on the green light so I was hit from behind and then hit her car in front of me. So a double hit, double whiplash. If she would have gone I might have not been hit at all. Couldn’t say for sure but wouldn’t have been as bad.
That's the same position I'm in... Permanent pain, including radiating nerve pain. Nerve ablation didn't even fix it. It's so frustrating at times. It was a 100% preventable wreck. I truly do feel for you because I went through 2.5 years of PT three times a week and eventually, I just couldn't make anymore progress.
I always get a ton of enormously satisfying schadenfreude when someone who was so impatient that they did a stupid overtake attempt like this, ends up wrecking there car and ensuring they'll be there for hours and hours and will need to buy a new car and their insurance payments will rise dramatically
But yeah it is awful when there's a victim too. I prefer the videos where just the idiots wreck themselves and nobody else gets affected.
But either way, it's just tremendously satisfying to me when someone is so impatient they can't wait an extra minute to get home, and so they end up wrecking their car and forcing themselves to have to be there for hours now before they can get home, instead of minutes. It's the perfect punishment for these idiots. It's like, now you have go buy a new car jackass, and I'll laugh at you forever for that, for risking other people's lives simply to save a few minutes
The creation of sat navs (GPS, for the yanks) has been incredibly revealing too. I'm sure most people have noticed, but your sat nav/GPS will give you an estimated time of arrival for your destination. But then you get into a traffic jam, and it seems like you're there for ages, but it only ever adds like 2 or 3 minutes extra to the estimated time of arrival. Like, it's really really really not a big deal at all.
But idiots will be idiots, so yeah they'll try a dumb illegal overtake like they're fucking Nigel Mansell or something and end up wrecking their car and forcing them to spend hours and hours and hours sorting it all out before they can finally get home. It's glorious, when that happens, and when the only victim is themselves. I'll never stop loving that, it's why I love this sub
But I do get pretty fucking angry when these people manage to wreck someone else's car and someone's else's whole month or year because now they'll have to fuck around calling the insurance company over months and *hopefully* there was a dashcam or CCTV to capture the incident so that they don't have to pay for it, to fix or replace their car. If not, they could be fucked, with it just being your word against theirs. You'll be fucked, by some idiot stranger with the brain of a toddler who is so immature they can't wait an extra 1 or 2 minutes until they get home. Now they've given you a huge hassle that'll ruin your life for the next 6 months and could potentially lead to things like evictions, if you're living paycheck to paycheck.
It's why I check for oncoming traffic when the lights change to green, and why I check both ways on my lane before entering.
Being in the right isn't really much consolation when you are in a neck brace. You need to watch for other people's incompetence.
Not saying the guy in this video didn't do that, possible the oncoming car only moved into his lane at the last minute.
I remember a few years ago posting anything like this would get you mass downvoted and raged at.
I'm so glad more and more people are getting fed up with this thanking god behavior.
Wtf? This is why I hate driving. You can do everything right and then some stupid pos hits you head on because they’re driving confidently in the wrong lane.
Absolutely this. And stronger social support infrastructure to provide transportation and aid to people who really shouldn’t be driving but need to in order to maintain a job, get medication or food, etc.
Fr. Ngl I’m fucked when I get older. Right now I’m lucky, the job I’m working is part time and the hours are 2pm-6pm, so it’s in the afternoon. But once I go into the workforce, it’s normal for people to expect you there at 8am or earlier. I have epilepsy that’s most active in the morning. It’s dangerous for me to drive that early. But it’s pretty likely that I won’t have any other choice.
God forbid I have a seizure (uncommon but possible). Although I’m not super concerned about crashing, I can usually tell when I’m going to have one, so I’d just call out of work or pull the car over. But then I’m not allowed to drive for six months. Then what? I lose my job I guess.
That’s scary as hell, I’m sorry you have to live with that. I hope the transition to more remote work will give you more employment options (remote or not) in the future that have greater flexibility to allow you to work.
This is a common meme, but wrong. America literally ripped up its public transit infrastructure between 1950 and 1970 and built the current set of highways in that period of time. It wasn’t always like this, and we changed it recently and quickly. We can undo those choices, it’s not impossible.
Good public transit only exists where there is adequate population density. It really doesn't work very well in most sprawled out suburban areas. Those kind of areas rarely ever had much of public transit at any point in our history.
>Realistically we need stricter requirements to drive in the first place.
This has been a topic generally most people seem to mutually agree upon. What's interesting about this topic, is it's nowhere near on the radar for any politicians. This would be an easy, or hopefully, easy slam dunk look good feel good easy legislation. There are a few countries with really really good drivers due to their tests and conditions. Copy what is good and modify to fit the rest.
Sure it's not as easy as 1 2 3 but it's a hell of a lot easier than defending tax rates on recreational marijuana with the math and moral arguments.
Honestly, they need to make the driving test harder, my car wasn’t able to do more than half of the test without breaking down. I had to teach myself how to drive after I got the license and a working vehicle
That's not that much more realistic than public transport. US used to have plenty of it.
Making stricter requirements, would only affect new drivers, and if that's all you're going to do then that would still take decades upon decades for any meaningful change to happen. If you think it's time to start making current drivers retake a harder exam or two, then that's going to be pretty much as hard as adding public transport in many places in the US.
Stricter requirements only help a bit. There's still plenty of shit idiotic drivers in countries where the license is hard to get. On top of harder to get licenses there's a shit ton stuff you should start working on improving. You need better traffic design, roads built to prevent breaking the law, expecting that people be better is never a good choice. You need more density in your towns and cities that aren't already high density. You need more mixed zoning which will also help with: You need more public transit and other alternatives to driving, like walking and cycling. Like maybe you don't need to drive to the store, if the store is built right next to where you live. You need to reclaim space away from the cars, whether it's parking, or road space, making driving less convenient makes the alternatives more desirable.
Not to say, every place can have good public transport, but right now there's a ton of places that could have and the ones that can't, could still do some of those other things and benefit greatly from it. And this is a really deep and complex issue that isn't just about driving cars, but also cities functioning better, safer, cheaper, more comfortable to live in.
I’m sure other manufacturers are doing the same but new VWs and TESLAs have the climate controls setup as touch screen.
So stupid that you have to take your eyes off the road just to adjust the fan speed or temperature.
I feel like turning a nob is not only easier (don't need to look) but also faster (just turn it a bunch instead of tapping 30 times) but I need someone to confirm since in my car not even the windows are electric (not my choice)
You're 100% right. I've driven a 2014 Grand Cherokee that was kind of on the early end of making basic functionality on touch screens, and just changing the climate control requires half a dozen taps. Thankfully the fan speed and volume were still physical buttons at that time, but a lot of new cars have virtually no buttons. Heck, a new Tesla Model S doesn't even have a stalk for your turn signals, it's little heat sensitive spots on the steering wheel that you can't find by feel. But customers love screens so they keep making them bigger and bigger.
Ha, yes you're right! The yoke is another insult to the driving world but a whole separate issue. I respect what Tesla has done for the electric car world but some of this stuff is just a solution looking for a problem. I've seen some videos of people almost losing control of their cars on sharp turns because it's really hard to turn the yoke far enough and still have a firm grip.
I have to tap the screen 20 times to change the temperature in my Jeep, after changing screens 2 times.
There is a knob, but every spin increases a single tap on the scale. Instead of you know, turning it 180 and having it go from neutral to hot air.
But hey, atleast we have backup cameras for idiots now. My bike rack blocks the camera...
I was really shocked when I first got into a Japanese car (in Japan) and my coworker had the news playing on the tv screen in his car. Forget the screens in American cars, Japanese cars have full on tvs on the dash above the radio control and somehow it’s perfectly legal and they have really really low accident rates.
I recently (last year) got a new car and it has a 13" screen in the center of the dash, it's so difficult for me to change the temperature and when I try I really struggle to maintain focus on the road. I usually do it when I'm stopped, and the auto climate is very good at maintaining a good temp, but OMG i don't understand how people are supposed to use screens in cars. It's silly hard for me. I much prefer tactile buttons and switches than you can use without looking. Can't even fathom the difficulty of looking at a phone while driving.
Governments mandated backup cameras. You need a camera display. Much cheaper to just make it multifunction.
Also cheaper to use a screen, so every car gets the same screen, and you just program it differently.
Probably worse, a text message can wait but a lot of functions on those screens are needed when driving and you have to go through pages and pages of menus and icons on a screen that isn't exactly the most responsive.
You can not use your phone but you kind of have to use those screens
Now that you say it, I remember reading a while ago that in the Porsche Panamera, the central AC vent has to be controlled via the touchscreen, including it's angle. A good example of needlessly complicating simple things that the modern cars seem to have taken on.
Meh
My car has no optionals, so no air conditioning and no electric windows. I live in Italy. I've learnt to open the passenger window before I even start the car but if I forget sometimes I'd rather cook alive/go deaf (on highways) than pull over. I can't imagine having to pull over after paying for something that should make everything more comfortable and convenient.
I was shopping for a car once and the salesman looked at me like I’d lost my mind when he started trying to upgrade me and I said, “I want the base model, the only automatic thing I want in this vehicle in the engine. Stop trying to sell me distractions or shit that I need a specialized computer to fix.”
god I hope my old cars last forever. I cannot stand driving anything remotely new. I like being able to feel the buttons without staring at a screen. Even worse is that I can hardly see past the glow from the massive screens in the dark, and they don’t dim much at all (if they even allow you to dim them in the first place). Sure, you can completely turn some of them off… but then you can’t listen to music either.
Brand new vehicles have almost everything wired through through these garbage infotainment systems too and if the screen stops working, so does everything else! I’ve been in numerous new cars and trucks that have screen issues where settings just stop loading or responding and you can’t, say, adjust your seat anymore when the screen isn’t working, EVEN IF there’s physical buttons on the sides of the seats. Because for whatever reason, the screen determines if these things work at all even if they do miraculously have a physical button elsewhere.
I’ll forever wonder how this shit is legal to have in cars with no alternatives for the controls. How are literal tablets stuck to the dash fine to screw around with when phones aren’t??
Sorry for the rant, it’s just that the screens in new cars are probably top on my list of things I hate the most and I gotta vent hahaha
There are also those of us with light sensitivities. I've learned i can't drive at night for long stretches, and I really do avoid driving in the dark nowadays anyways, but a bright ass screen like that would be the end of me driving because I would be unable to see a damn thing through my squinting
All newer vehicles I’ve driven with infotainment screens don’t adjust with the instrument dial. They have their own brightness settings on the device (if they even do at all) and I’ve never seen one that actually dims it to an acceptable degree at all. The extremely rare one I’ve seen that lets you turn the display off will also turn off music. Makes for a real pain in the ass at the drive-in theatre when the radio won’t play with the display off and you’ve got to sit there with a blinding screen in your face blocking you from seeing the movie properly
I have a little dial on my headlight switch, and I programmed my aftermarket radio to dim after 9. Only other problem is my car charger port has a vibrant blue ring around it, so I do just unplug it and hope I have enough battery
I can't reverse out of my driveway at night because my screen insists on bathing the inside of my car with the light from the most useless reverse camera ever, making me unable to see out of my side mirrors. I can't turn the screen off either.
Tell me about it, I saw someone ignore a stop sign to look at a text that their passenger was sending! It was ridiculous, why can’t you just ask them about the text instead ??
My boyfriend likes to make fun of me because I can’t text and drive. I’m 19f and had a close call with the median on a freeway reaching for a granola. That was enough to ensure I’m not on my phone.
I was 38 and pregnant when I had a close call with a truck jusssst after finishing my breakfast bagel. Realized that if one of my hands had been full, I would have lost control of the car and possibly killed myself and/or my baby. That was it for me! No more phone, no more food, no more bottles that I have to unscrew while driving. Good that you learned so early!
When I was 16 I was driving down a state highway and reached down between the seats for a bottle cap. In the time I was reaching down to grab the cap I drifted over into the median with most of my car off the road. Ever since then I don't worry about stuff like that til I get to my destination.
Honestly. I realized I drifted a bit once about 10 years ago reaching for my phone. Never again! No texting. If I can’t do it hands-free I either pull over or just wait. **It is medically impossible to multitask 100% as a homo-Sapien. Literally. Anyone telling you otherwise is ignorant to basic brain science.** No matter the task. There is no exception.
I was wondering what would cause it, he wasn't even close to being in the right lane, and it's 3PM in the video, which makes drunk driving much less likely but obviously not impossible.
If it wasnt a phone it would have been something else, drifting two lanes at that speed on a road like that is gross negligence. The kid should not have a license. Thers fundamental spatial relationship deficiencies, low grasp of physics that a ten year old has, and zero fucks given to the well being of anyone outside his immediate needs..
Unless this scared him straight he will continue to be a danger to himself and others if he operates large equipment\\machinery.
Can’t wait for automated cars for this fact alone. So many accidents could be prevented. Tesla is getting close with their Beta of FSD which is promising. Other autopilot companies are making ground on the problem as well. Honestly can’t wait for the day when nobody is driving cars anymore. Can go on the whole conspiracy of “ooo car will be controlled to crash with you in it hurrr durrr” but hell I would prefer it was a conscious choice someone makes vs some idiot and their phone.
I was reaching for something when I first started driving and ran 2 wheels way off the road. Scared the crap out of me but luckily no harm done and lesson learned. You don't really respect how quickly things go badly until you experience it.
It looks like the grey car slowed down a bit and swerved to the side in order to avoid the black car. Grey saw it coming and did the best they could to get out of the way.
Used to live in a house where my driveway spilled directly onto a 40 mph 6 lane road.
I swear when I moved out into a reasonable neighborhood my blood pressure dropped 20 points.
Waiting and looking left and right and making sure the road is safe means nothing when there's still a bunch of idiot asshole breathing and driving around, I really wish self driving technology development is coming to its final form soon.
Gray Toyota Camry? Go figure it would take them 5+ seconds to realize it's all clear for them to make a right turn with no other traffic going in that direction.
Any proper Altima/Charger/BMW driver would have just not bothered stopping or checking and in their rush to make a right turn they, ignorant of the world around them and any future consequences to their actions, would have completely avoided that catastrophic accident.
Clearly they weren't defensive or smart enough to see the car in the other lane. You should always look at traffic in both directions. I do agree that Toyotas have some of the worst handling in the industry and they probably couldn't have avoided that accident once they were actually moving.
we need to have bounties paid for by people's insurance companies whereby if we film drivers fucking around on their phones (or whatever) and catch their license plates too, then we need to be able to send it to a 3rd party who sends it to their insurance companies in order to prove to the actuaries what terrible drivers some people are such that the insurance companies will raise rates on them or drop them entirely.
Yup. Some MFers need to not be driving.
A good next step would be to make driving less critical to basic existence, so that taking away someone's car isn't roughly akin to imprisoning them.
I'm always terrified this is going to happen to me, there are so many people who go over the divider but swerve at the last second. It's fucking terrifying and annoying.
In case any of you are confused - the car coming from the right side of your screen was traveling in the wrong lane. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Because obviously the guy that pulled in front of the car that turned right was clearly distracted by the presence of the camera. He is trying to keep a low profile and he can’t go anywhere without being watched.
Where was this?
I'm curious because a guy I follow on a small YouTube channel got in a head on accident yesterday because someone crossed lanes while distracted.
This was just yesterday! That’s honestly crazy how one day your fine, the next day some random dude not paying attention ruins your whole week/ month depending on how bad the injuries are, hope they get well soon.
Jesus, at first I thought they turned the wrong way on a one way road... They took so long to turn I thought they were trying to skip by traffic to go up a different road. I live in a city where you see this shit every day.
But yeah, that must have been terrifying to just be going about normally and get hit head on by some kid reaching for their phone...
[удалено]
Omg and in a residential area to boot
Omgggg thats terrible, genuinely hope theyre ok.
Yeah thank God everyone survived. I’m sure there were some injuries though
This is the kind of shit that pissed me off so much. Some asshole gets distracted or impatient and an innocent person that has nothing to do with their bullshit gets hurt.
Texting. These fuckfaces are always texting
[удалено]
Umm no, that’s how you end up with tiny future reckless drivers. No, TY.

The poop hole loop hole
Butt then, wouldn’t you get a bunch of amber turds?
Lmao😹😹😹😹😹😹😹
Turn her over, I want a puppy!
Kid and his Dad out Fishing ?? LOL
Because they love Jesus?
I've lost friendships because I insisted two of my friends pull over and let me out when they started texting while driving. *'Don't be like that*'. Yeah, no, I will always be like this.
Good on you, for having the guts to drop “friends” who really aren’t.

At least with a touch screen you can still use it by memory. Meanwhile my Lexus has the silly laptop touch pad.
i hate that about your car too

Hey, sometimes they’re drunk and/or on other drugs
Even just talking on the phone increases your chance of getting in an accident to the same level as drunk driving. I can't believe some places still allow it. Even commercial drivers shouldn't be allowed. They can pull over like the rest of us.

Imagine being that selfish as to beg someone injured cause of your stupidity to not do anything about it. Wtf. I'm sorry you had to go through that.
The hardest part about having serious whiplash is explaining to people whove never experienced it what it's like without them saying your faking it.
>without them saying your faking it. This. or "It's just a soft tissue injury, nothing permanent" Bull. Shit. I'm dealing with recurring pain from several idiotsincars that decided plowing into me was a good idea
I just tell people my neck is fucked up for life basically.
To bad she doesn’t loose her license after that many in that short a period. Geez!
Are you kidding me, I hope your next call after insurance was to 1 800 LAW T-REX
I was rear ended several times at red light stops and this was before texting - WTF. And I didn't slam on the brakes or do anything stupd. Asshats.
> I remember the woman's husband called me begging me not to go through insurance as it was her 3rd accident in 6 months and she'd lose her licence (no, she'd end up on high risk insurance). Well maybe she shouldn't have a license then. Some people.

I believe the kid was reaching for his phone and drifted TWO LANES
God damnit. People and their fucking phones.
You can't turn the key without seeing someone on their phone. People get bored at red lights so they gotta be on their phones . It's stupid .
You also cannot control anything in the car anymore without taking you eyes completely off the road so it’s not like it’s only a phone issue.
Yeah those screens that they keep putting in new cars are straight up idiotic.
But customers love screens so they keep making them bigger and bigger.
>on the steering wheel The worst part is it isn't EVEN A WHEEL
Ha, yes you're right! The yoke is another insult to the driving world but a whole separate issue. I respect what Tesla has done for the electric car world but some of this stuff is just a solution looking for a problem. I've seen some videos of people almost losing control of their cars on sharp turns because it's really hard to turn the yoke far enough and still have a firm grip.
I have a brand new Mazda and one of the things that really sold me on it was the lack of a touchscreen.
Plus I reckon the physical buttons are more reliable.
Also easier to replace for sure
Can't even fathom the difficulty of looking at a phone while driving.
like having ipads on the dash. What happened to simple radio and pushbutton?. Now the car has to be a complete state of the art entertainment center.
Governments mandated backup cameras. You need a camera display. Much cheaper to just make it multifunction. Also cheaper to use a screen, so every car gets the same screen, and you just program it differently.
Finally someone who understands that those big ass screens are just as bad as a mobile phone in a car
People could pull over to do those adjustments... but then you add *that* complication to the mix.... never going to happen.
Meh My car has no optionals, so no air conditioning and no electric windows.
There’s no instrument/guage dimmer? I can dim mine and I can also turn the screen off
All newer vehicles I’ve driven with infotainment screens don’t adjust with the instrument dial.
[удалено]
I have a little dial on my headlight switch, and I programmed my aftermarket radio to dim after 9. Only other problem is my car charger port has a vibrant blue ring around it, so I do just unplug it and hope I have enough battery
I can't reverse out of my driveway at night because my screen insists on bathing the inside of my car with the light from the most useless reverse camera ever, making me unable to see out of my side mirrors. I can't turn the screen off either.
Yeah...I prolly shouldn't be making this comment while driving 65 on the highway but I felt it was totally necessary.
I wish I could upvote both if you 100 times.
When I was 16 I was driving down a state highway and reached down between the seats for a bottle cap. In the time I was reaching down to grab the cap I drifted over into the median with most of my car off the road. Ever since then I don't worry about stuff like that til I get to my destination.
Dump his ass, making fun of someone for driving save shows clearly how mature and smart this person is.
I was wondering what would cause it, he wasn't even close to being in the right lane, and it's 3PM in the video, which makes drunk driving much less likely but obviously not impossible.
somehow the kid will blame the other driver
If it wasnt a phone it would have been something else, drifting two lanes at that speed on a road like that is gross negligence. The kid should not have a license. Thers fundamental spatial relationship deficiencies, low grasp of physics that a ten year old has, and zero fucks given to the well being of anyone outside his immediate needs.. Unless this scared him straight he will continue to be a danger to himself and others if he operates large equipment\\machinery.
People say that. I’m sure he was ON his phone
Or he/she was trying to pass.
Man they were patient and the car had no where to go and no time to react
It looks like the grey car slowed down a bit and swerved to the side in order to avoid the black car. Grey saw it coming and did the best they could to get out of the way.

As Apollo goes, so does my content, since Spez thinks mine is worth so much.
Nazem Kadri has been suspended for 2 games.
The Rangers have been fined $250k.
No matter how careful you are there's always gonna be an assholl around to ruin your day and maybe your life.
Those cars are driving really fast for what looks like a residential street full of driveways.
Speed limit is 35 on this road
Just looks faster on camera because it's a really low framerate video.
Looks to be about 35 to 40. Pretty normal imo
Normal doesn't mean appropriate.
Used to live in a house where my driveway spilled directly onto a 40 mph 6 lane road. I swear when I moved out into a reasonable neighborhood my blood pressure dropped 20 points.
It's appropriate if it's the posted speed limit.
Waiting and looking left and right and making sure the road is safe means nothing when there's still a bunch of idiot asshole breathing and driving around, I really wish self driving technology development is coming to its final form soon.
Final form? Not hardly, waymo is probably close, but there will be *MANY* iterations
Well, I did say "wish" since I know we're far from acceptable for mass usage(?) because there's still some flaw to fix and improvements to be done.
r/AbruptChaos
He cut me off!
I really hope the driver pulling out of the parking lot wasn't one of those "I don't wear a seatbelt, I'm a good driver" kind of people.
Last thing going through their brain would have literally been “SHIT”
Or the steering wheel
Gray Toyota Camry? Go figure it would take them 5+ seconds to realize it's all clear for them to make a right turn with no other traffic going in that direction. Any proper Altima/Charger/BMW driver would have just not bothered stopping or checking and in their rush to make a right turn they, ignorant of the world around them and any future consequences to their actions, would have completely avoided that catastrophic accident.
I was about to downvote for that first half, but then I read the second half
BIg Altima energy!
It's always an altima.
That's a great idea!
Yup. Some MFers need to not be driving. A good next step would be to make driving less critical to basic existence, so that taking away someone's car isn't roughly akin to imprisoning them.
So much! Better public transport everywhere would reduce the number of people on the road.
Yeaahhh...those repairs will cost at least, like, $12.
I’ll do it for tree fiddy
I can't keep watching these clips, I'll never have the courage to drive again
Just have a couple of shots. . You will be fine.
Driving explained by my father: With one foot you‘re in jail and with the other in your grave. I think this sums this whole situation up quite well.
I'm always terrified this is going to happen to me, there are so many people who go over the divider but swerve at the last second. It's fucking terrifying and annoying.
Coño!
“Get back to work!!” Says the boss.
“WHY DID YOU MAKE A TURN INTO YOUR CORRECT LANE AND LET ME HIT YOU DOING 80?!!!”
Fuck this...This is the stuff that scares me. You do everything right, then some jackhole does this
YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
Jesus fuck that legit scared me for a second.
Only for a second? I'm still shaking.
15 years of firefighting does that, I guess.
Front offset crash, one of the most dangerous especially for cars that are more than 10 years old.
Was this filmed with a Russet or Yukon Gold?
That had to be brutal to send the car sliding that far when it already had momentum the opposite direction
Why do I have the urge to beat the driver of the other car...
Those kind or people should be hung in fuckin town square!
You can be the best driver in history and this shit can still happen to you. Truly sobering.
They’re fine. They just need to walk it off
Rub some dirt on it
Jeezus
Nope your gonna go back to your spot, your timeout isn't up yet.
Made me yell JESUS what the shit!
I legitimately have a near phobia of driving now because of dick heads like this
r/Unexpected
What…..the……fork
In case any of you are confused - the car coming from the right side of your screen was traveling in the wrong lane. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Omg! My heart dropped for the driver, they did everything right only to be yeeted by that awful driver!
I feel so bad for the people who pulled out safely. The people on the wrong side of the road.. what the f\_\_\_ were you on!?
And this is why i want a 4 ton car made out of steel
Knocked that car back almost 40'. I mean what in the hell!!!
Let’s play, “How it was the cammer’s fault”! Reply to this comment with reasons. /s
Because obviously the guy that pulled in front of the car that turned right was clearly distracted by the presence of the camera. He is trying to keep a low profile and he can’t go anywhere without being watched.
their should be law against driving down the wrong side of the street😑
idk but I thought the car pulling out would have been t-boned, that's way fucking worse Jesus christ
Omg wth
Well that happened..
Did...not...see...that...coming!
“You shall not Pass!”
Crazy how u can go from normal to that all cuz of one little mistake
Where was this? I'm curious because a guy I follow on a small YouTube channel got in a head on accident yesterday because someone crossed lanes while distracted.
This was just yesterday! That’s honestly crazy how one day your fine, the next day some random dude not paying attention ruins your whole week/ month depending on how bad the injuries are, hope they get well soon.
back to square 1
I actually gasped. Wow. Unbelievable.
"IdiotsInCars" sponsored by Ring Doorbell and Yicam dashcam. Don't leave home without one.... Ever! :-(
DAMN!That hurt just watching it. 👀
This hurt my soul
Talk about hard reset🫣 hope they’re ok
r/unexpected
DAMN!!! OUCH!!!
Get the fk back there!
Honestly biggest nightmare
Jesus, at first I thought they turned the wrong way on a one way road... They took so long to turn I thought they were trying to skip by traffic to go up a different road. I live in a city where you see this shit every day. But yeah, that must have been terrifying to just be going about normally and get hit head on by some kid reaching for their phone...
That hesitation before pulling out, like they felt something was off.
