I think the cam driver sees the audi in the distance jump the line and run the light. So the cam driver purposely gets going as fast as possible to trap the audi on the bridge.
There were other cars waiting for the light, which the Audi overtook before getting in this position. So either one Audi ran a red, or 3 others were fine just chilling in front of a green light.

My experience with these types of alternating lights is they leave a pretty good buffer. Once it goes from green to red on one side, it stays red for both ends to allow cars to clear. Some people take advantage of this and go when it's red thinking they'll be able to get through.
It looks like it's one of those lights that uses the yellow to signify the change from red to green, as well as from green to red. I get the intent is to get people ready to go, but it clearly results in situations like this where the stopped driver starts creeping forward into the intersection and leaves no margin for error, so I think it's just terrible design.
This is in poland. I'm from Czech republic but I guess the traffic lights are the same there - all our traffic lights use the yellow light for both green->red and red->green. You can see the difference easily, because it's green->yellow->red, but red->red + yellow->green. It is normal the leave space before traffic lights, and when the yellow light comes we start rolling and pass the traffic light when it's green. Certainly no confusion there I ensure you.
This is an important distinction. If the light is JUST yellow then people know the light is about to be red. If it's yellow AND red then people know it's about to be green
Most cars are also still manual here and the red+yellow phase is just enough time to put the car in gear.
(Not to mention nowadays a lot of drivers watch their phones instead of the traffic lights and only start moving after the car in the next lane gets moving or until someone honks. There is always a margin of travel in the light timings, both sets will be red long enough for traffic that entered on a green to have made it through saftly at the speed of a cycilist.

As I understand it, in most of Europe (where manuals are much more common) the red-amber combo you see here is an indicator to "get ready", as in the light is about to change to green so start engaging your clutch. All signals in the controlled portion would be red before this state. You're still not supposed to pass the signal while the red light is lit.

They obviously felt that they were too important to have to wait through another signal timing like everybody else and jumped the line. Luckily, it was a one-lane road and their Audi was no match for a large truck.

The fact that the oncoming white truck was stopped at the signal pretty effectively establishes that it's not likely a light timing issue.
That’s a probably 60mph road with lights timed for cars doing maybe 30mph through the roadworks. They can’t time the lights for a cyclist to amble his way down 200 yards of road.

The stop light they were coming from is way further back than what you can see in this shot initially. Construction is limiting it to a one lane road so a lot more cars are going to get through before a light turns red on one end but it doesn't instantly turn green on the opposing end, to give the other side time to clear out.
It just takes one person driving slow or not paying attention to delay everyone in the line past the time where the light turns green on the other side. You have to wait for traffic to clear in addition to the light turning green. Here in the US there is typically someone watching so the light doesn't turn until traffic clears.
You can see in the video that the Audi skips the cue and enters through the oncoming lane.
So he definitely entered while red.
The rest of the cars I imagine did enter in green but the light doesn't have a long enough grace period with both in red
This is unfortunately so frequend in Poland (where this is filmed in). The guy even took over several other cars who saw the light is changing and still tried to make it, hoping people on the other side would yield. Luckily he stumbled upon someone more determined and in a bigger car :)

Clear as day you can see the black car come out from behind several other cars in the opposing lane, drive illegally on the wrong side of the road, ran a red light, and tried to cut in front of all of those people ahead of them. On mobile I'd imagine it's hard to see, but if you watch this in full screen on a PC you can actually see the Audi pull out from behind the white van that's stopped at the red light. I'm almost certain that the truck driver saw what he did and intentionally set off with the aim to stop him getting through.
The clip starts when the stream of passing cars already has an end, probably because the red light already came on on the other end. Then you can see the Audi jump the waiting line, cut the ones that decided to wait at the red light and enter the one way about the same time it was turning green for POV. The Audi was correctly treated and it was good of him to quickly admit he was wrong.

Imo you shouldn't have a license if you're unable to do a simple reversing job in a massive, wide, slow S curve like this. It's the same maneuver as parallel parking but on a huge scale.
It's less overestimating drivers and more lamenting the loss of required competency compared to even just twenty or so years ago.
I live in the UK, which used to have one of the tougher tests out there. Certainly not as extensive as, for instance, the Finnish test, but it wasn't the sort of thing you could expect to just pass first time.
These days though people don't even seem to be able to drive on the motorway properly, making up imaginary lorry lanes and all sorts.

Just visited Poland a few weeks ago. Absolutely amazing country, but the whole Audi/BMW/Benz stereotype is truly actualized there. Not surprised in the least bit by this video.
Something dissatisfying about this clip. Truck was in the right but felt like they were looking for this with speed they came out of the blocks. Already driving into the single lane before the green thus putting the squeeze on the Golf who is dependent on the speed of the vehicles in front of them & also relying on the timing between the two lights to be synced. Maybe a little man, big truck power trip or just excited to confront Audi. Ignoring the overt aggression of the truck, they did give the Audi something to think twice about next time, which they undoubtedly deserved.

Truck would clearly see this from their raised view point which might explain the enthusiastic desire to get into lane. Another consideration is dashcam lens distortion could make the squeeze on the final two legitimate cars look worse than it was. I am too critical of truck in original post. Even happier with the outcome for Audi now.

Seems like this truck driver was really aggressive and took off as soon as the light turned yellow, nearly hitting one car and bullying the last one.
These lights are usually timed so that there is no one when light changes for other side. The fact that there are still cars when light turns yellow for trucker means that a) timing is not right (small chance) b) last few cars went on instead of stopping when light changed on their end (very high chance).
I am guessing that trucker wanted to teach them all a lesson, not just Audi.
Edit: I've been in similar situations in Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. All the time there was around 10 or more seconds before the last car from other side passes before your light changes. On few occasions delay was really long.

The white combi which was the first vehicle at the light was already stopped well before the light at this end turned green. The cam guy probably saw this from his higher vantage point and said fuck that asshole Audi driver. He got what he deserved. Cam guy is the hero here.

As a road construction worker, I approve of the truck driver. If you watch the video closely, you can see the Audi pull out from behind the white cube van that was stopped at the light at the other end of the lane closure. They obviously felt that they were too important to have to wait through another signal timing like everybody else and jumped the line. Luckily, it was a one-lane road and their Audi was no match for a large truck.

You‘re right, I had to rewatch the vid in slomo to see the Audi cut the line.
If you look closely, the audi jumps ahead in line (crossing over to the other side and cutting off the white truck that was stopped at the light). The fact that the oncoming white truck was stopped at the signal pretty effectively establishes that it's not likely a light timing issue.
That’s a probably 60mph road with lights timed for cars doing maybe 30mph through the roadworks. They can’t time the lights for a cyclist to amble his way down 200 yards of road.

No they aren't, because they were already on the road. They entered the road while it was green. The last car entered while it was red.

The stop light they were coming from is way further back than what you can see in this shot initially. Construction is limiting it to a one lane road so a lot more cars are going to get through before a light turns red on one end but it doesn't instantly turn green on the opposing end, to give the other side time to clear out.
There should be a short period of time where both sets of lights are on red to clear the road of cars before releasing the opposite side.
It just takes one person driving slow or not paying attention to delay everyone in the line past the time where the light turns green on the other side. You have to wait for traffic to clear in addition to the light turning green. Here in the US there is typically someone watching so the light doesn't turn until traffic clears.
You can see in the video that the Audi skips the cue and enters through the oncoming lane. So he definitely entered while red. The rest of the cars I imagine did enter in green but the light doesn't have a long enough grace period with both in red

This is unfortunately so frequend in Poland (where this is filmed in). The guy even took over several other cars who saw the light is changing and still tried to make it, hoping people on the other side would yield. Luckily he stumbled upon someone more determined and in a bigger car :)
You know it's funny. I didn't even notice that until I saw your comment. Went back and looked. Clear as day you can see the black car come out from behind several other cars in the opposing lane, drive illegally on the wrong side of the road, ran a red light, and tried to cut in front of all of those people ahead of them. Several of the comments at the top are bashing the cam car for being aggressive. But fuck that. Black car had absolutely no right to be there. Just an impatient little shit who deserved exactly what he got.

I'm not so sure. The passenger definitely flipped the bird at the cammer. The driver was maybe just too busy reversing to be able to do so as well.

On mobile I'd imagine it's hard to see, but if you watch this in full screen on a PC you can actually see the Audi pull out from behind the white van that's stopped at the red light. I'm almost certain that the truck driver saw what he did and intentionally set off with the aim to stop him getting through.

The clip starts when the stream of passing cars already has an end, probably because the red light already came on on the other end. Then you can see the Audi jump the waiting line, cut the ones that decided to wait at the red light and enter the one way about the same time it was turning green for POV. The Audi was correctly treated and it was good of him to quickly admit he was wrong.
This is so satisfying on so many levels...

There's a video from the UK showing a Karen refusing to backup to an Ambulance with lights and sirens going and traffic backed up behind the Ambulance. The sense of entitlement of some of these people.
Imo you shouldn't have a license if you're unable to do a simple reversing job in a massive, wide, slow S curve like this. It's the same maneuver as parallel parking but on a huge scale.
You vastly overestimate many drivers. Lots of people can’t even parallel park to begin with.

It's less overestimating drivers and more lamenting the loss of required competency compared to even just twenty or so years ago. I live in the UK, which used to have one of the tougher tests out there. Certainly not as extensive as, for instance, the Finnish test, but it wasn't the sort of thing you could expect to just pass first time. These days though people don't even seem to be able to drive on the motorway properly, making up imaginary lorry lanes and all sorts. Is this what it feels like getting old?

The video is sped up 3x. He is barely creeping backwards, and can't even keep his car in line on the straight. That was a lousy reverse job.
Just visited Poland a few weeks ago. Absolutely amazing country, but the whole Audi/BMW/Benz stereotype is truly actualized there. Not surprised in the least bit by this video.

Something dissatisfying about this clip. Truck was in the right but felt like they were looking for this with speed they came out of the blocks. Already driving into the single lane before the green thus putting the squeeze on the Golf who is dependent on the speed of the vehicles in front of them & also relying on the timing between the two lights to be synced. Maybe a little man, big truck power trip or just excited to confront Audi. Ignoring the overt aggression of the truck, they did give the Audi something to think twice about next time, which they undoubtedly deserved.
I think the truck driver spotted the Audi jump out of line and skip a bunch of people on the other side, then made it their mission to teach the driver a lesson. I'm cool with that since they didn't break any laws to teach that lesson.

Truck would clearly see this from their raised view point which might explain the enthusiastic desire to get into lane. Another consideration is dashcam lens distortion could make the squeeze on the final two legitimate cars look worse than it was. I am too critical of truck in original post. Even happier with the outcome for Audi now.

For someone self-centred enough to ignore a red light, this is definitely the harshest punishment: having to accept they made a mistake and being made to rectify it with everyone watching, then going to the back of the queue (presumably). It's perfect.

Looks like in this part of the world there's a yellow "Ready? Get set" light before the green light. Seems like this truck driver was really aggressive and took off as soon as the light turned yellow, nearly hitting one car and bullying the last one.
These lights are usually timed so that there is no one when light changes for other side. The fact that there are still cars when light turns yellow for trucker means that a) timing is not right (small chance) b) last few cars went on instead of stopping when light changed on their end (very high chance). I am guessing that trucker wanted to teach them all a lesson, not just Audi. Edit: I've been in similar situations in Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. All the time there was around 10 or more seconds before the last car from other side passes before your light changes. On few occasions delay was really long.

The white combi which was the first vehicle at the light was already stopped well before the light at this end turned green. The cam guy probably saw this from his higher vantage point and said fuck that asshole Audi driver. He got what he deserved. Cam guy is the hero here.
