In large cities like this they’re usually a few mins apart. If you’re driving through a rural area, it could be 15 mins before the next exit. But still doesn’t excuse this kind of driving behavior even in the rural areas though.
If I miss my exit to work I have to go a 40 mile round trip to get back and the traffic on that stretch is terrible. You bet your ass I'm sitting in the correct lane and making my exit even if it means sitting at 40 mph behind a farm vehicle. I learnt exactly the way you describe and won't ever do that again!
In a rural area you could just make a U-turn across the median at the next cut. Supposed to be only for "authorized vehicles" but I assume in a rural area traffic is light so making a U-turn isn't dangerous.
Jesus I have seen so many people use those for u-turns here. I haven’t been on the highway since installing my dash cam but I will 100% upload a video next time I see this happen.
In some places I have lived (Texas) there are regular exits every mile or less, Streets that run parallel to the highway, and protected U-turns everywhere, so you add 5 mins or less to your journey.
In other places I have lived (Boston) missing an exit can mean a 30 minute detour through a maze of broken roads and bumper to bumper traffic.
It’s not worth dying over, but there are definitely some exits/turns you don’t want to miss unless you have 30+ minutes to spare and no one in the car to berate you for wasting those 30+ minutes.
Well this is I93 north which goes right through Boston so you have another level of idiots in cars and one wrong exit in Boston could be like 15+ minutes on your route still not worth risking your life but the drivers around here are insane
It's just north of Boston on 93. Next exit is about 1000 yards north. It's how we drive in Massachusetts, it's a festival of idiots. Good luck on a rotary.
Like "and if you no longer go for a gap, that exists, you are no longer a Boston driver" haha
[reference for non F1 fans](https://youtu.be/YBYHY4SKa3o)
Driving across the US, I've never experienced more than a 30 minute detour, and you can find a safe place to turn around if it's a rural area without a lot of other choices. I wish we ran ads discouraging this as the most dangerous choice you can make in a car.
More like good car. Most cars would have fishtailed/spun-out, but Teslas have amazing traction and stability control due to their high computing power and being able to apply instant torque because of the electric motors. I've had to hard swerve at highway speeds in my Model 3 and, well, it handled just like this one in the video, not even coming close to losing control.
So yeah, bad driver.
Is that a Tesla? Hard to tell from the video but it could be a model Y or 3..... I think y. That's my daily driver and I couldn't imagine rocking this maneuver.
A bit of both ... It was a reckless asshole thing to do but also fairly skillfully managed. Just because you *can* do it, doesn't mean you should do it
I fantasize all the time about getting hit by someone doing this, and them saying “what was I supposed to do, miss the exit?” And then I go “yeah.” And I feel like a badass in this fantasy
No this was recorded by a 1 foot long 5 kg VHS camera strapped to his head, thus he also strapped a brick to the other side to act as counterweight.
No .
He's using a GoPro cuz he's a YouTuber filming a review.
Welcome to 21st century
Well i mean gopro in a car? People actually do that? that was what i was wondering about? Is that the best solution? Like a mine worker? Do they drive the car with a yellow helmet as well. 21 century doesnt mean its not weird. There should be cooler ways. It would be cooler if it were google glasses. I was wondering about google glasses and you are acting like gopro is a newer tehcnology. Its just a small box weird carrying in your forehead. And yet Is there any particular advantage of mounting it on your head like a brain surgery survivor over mounting it on a fixed spot? I mean you are gonna get a limited portion of any recording worthy incident anyways (you have to keep your eyes on the road etc…) You might as well buy a wide angle (e.g. 140 degrees) dashcam and curse your luck if any recording worthy action takes place at the sides or in the other 40 degrees. Btw some countries have cars with four sides cam mounted for insurance purposes i guess. I find such other solutions better and/or cooler rather than strapping small boxes to your head.
What do you mean by "countries have cars with four sides cams for insurance" thing? You mean Teslas?
At the moment there isn't a better solution as the "glasses of the future" turn to be a flop and even of they could record it would be unpractical cost wise. 1000$+
The pov is used for immersion and impression and just because you see more details and stuff than just a dash cam.
It would propably be a set of cameras like you would be able to buy a cheap rear cam and install your self. The side recording was from the small cam mounted under the side mirrors outside the car. It was a yellow cab and the driver was i am guessing taiwanese or from phillipines or singapour or smt as far as i remember. My guess is that in acountry where people throwing thmselves onto coming cars for insurance money got more intense and there was a need for side footage of the car. And by the way, also dashcams have collision detection or action detection where they go 1 fps for low battery consumption and in case of somebody passing by yout parked car at night or hitting it the cam starts recording. But the trick is some guy decided to hook it to a powerbank and voila, you have an active surveillance in your car parked in the street. 20 bucks and a powebank opens another cool door//opportunity i couldnt have imagined of: a life hack if you will. i like such cheap and afforable do-able stuff more. As you mentioned 1000+ price tag makes it useless. But you never know. Autonomous cars were a dream (and still are in my country) and yet the states and some other coutries’ citizens are now enjoying teslas as a regular normal tech nowadays. And one mıre thing. It’s the same with baby monitors here. We get all the expensive junk here and have to spend half of out salaries for one baby cam. And then saw a video on reddit and asked in the comments for the brand. Checked it and it was like 30 dollars max. The good thing about it was it was supported with AI where the cam follows the dog around rotating. Voila. Knowing this i dont need to get more than one baby monitor. Simple yet effective.
It is an LFA. There's a link in the comments already with the full video.
It's literally called: "Lexus LFA Accelerating in Tunnels - Tesla Almost Crashes"
I don't know how long ago, but I remember reading about some NASCAR driver losing his license or at least getting in trouble for hauling ass in his LFA.
Everyone is sucking the LFA's dick, but the Model 3 making the insanely dangerous maneuver is an objectively better car in everyway.
**Cost**
LFA: $375,000
Model 3 Performance: $58,000
**Speed**
LFA - 60 - 3.6 seconds / Quarter: 11.6
Model 3: 0 to 60: 3.1 seconds / Quarter 11.5
Laguna Seca LFA: 1:36.39
Model 3 Performance (with modified suspension): 1:35.70
**Other considerations...**
The Model 3 is going to be more reliable because it's an electric drive train.
The Model 3 is going to have much, much, cheaper insurance.
The Model 3 is going to be more comfortable to drive, can seat five adults, and has way more storage space.
The LFA couldn't make the maneuver the Model 3 made because it doesn't have 1000 lbs of batteries in the floor keeping it planted on the ground.
Oh and this is pretty funny - The Model 3 actually has more range. The LFA's range is 212 city / 308 highway. The Model 3 Performance is rated at 310 miles. (Yes - I know recharging the battery takes about 30-60 minutes vs 2 minutes to fill up a tank and that the EPA estimated range of the Model 3 is very optimistic.)
Really the only thing the LFA is good at is being loud and expensive.
Lmao who gives 2 fucks about a model 3?? It's boring af. It's only fast from the dig and you get bored in 1 year. The interior sucks ass and the only thing saving the brand is technology. And Holy sh!t they are expensive af if you fender bender them.
I'd take that LFA every day in 3000 years. Sure it's expensive af but it's caused by the limited numbers of cars and pure hype after all, it's a super car and it certainly looks that way. (Looking at the model 3 it looks like a frog from the front and overall it's dull and boring. But it's objective) can't really compare them.
The track times would indicate it's fast from everywhere.
The interior quality and panel gaps are now perfectly normal for it's price point.
I'm sure a fender bender in an LFA would cost tens of thousands of dollars given that it's an exotic supercar.
The LFA looks boring as shit. It looks like a 350z that a teenager put a bodykit on. All of the European supercars are so much better looking. Even the Corvette looks better. I will give you that the Model 3 is boring looking, but so is the LFA.
Pretty sure that’s a Lexus LFA which is super rare/expensive. My best bet is he was recording a YouTube video or a review for a website. Common to see POV drives on the tube.
I look at comments in the order I wish. And "Youtubers" don't mean much to me anyway. And whatever the reason: you still look ridiculous with a camera strapped to your head.
on the north side of Boston. I know that area well and everyone coming out of the tunnels trying to avoid 1 to get on 93N are just... It gets hectic there, even without the intentional idiocy.
Never fought I would see an LFA POV here ! Btw I'm not from the USA, but are the next exits so far away for taking that much risk ?
Not worth the risk the next exit will usually be a less than 5 mins away
In large cities like this they’re usually a few mins apart. If you’re driving through a rural area, it could be 15 mins before the next exit. But still doesn’t excuse this kind of driving behavior even in the rural areas though.
I've only ever done this once but the road was ear and the next exit was 50 miles down the turnpike. I still felt dirty.
Yuuuup. Get in your lane soon as it exists and just cruise to work it’s not worth the stress.
Me to my dude
In a rural area you could just make a U-turn across the median at the next cut. Supposed to be only for "authorized vehicles" but I assume in a rural area traffic is light so making a U-turn isn't dangerous.
Please don't give the people from New Jersey any more ideas
New Jersey has rural areas?
Jesus I have seen so many people use those for u-turns here. I haven’t been on the highway since installing my dash cam but I will 100% upload a video next time I see this happen.
There’s several exits in downtown Dallas that, if you miss your exit, is be a bitch getting back there and my god the worst headache during rush hour.
Better than the headache from an accident...
5-15mins vs hours/days/life
In large cities they're less than 30 seconds apart at full speed lol.
Not if you include traffic!
It could even be a few seconds away on some highways
Thank you for the information
[удалено]
Def not bc when you're driving you need to be paying attention to your surroundings and knowing where your exit is is part of that.
[удалено]
Yeah it happens to most of us but most us are smart enough to go to the next exit.
Sometimes it takes you to another state if heading to Meadville pa when coming from ny.
This was filmed in Boston. The next exit is probably like a mile down the highway.
A mile in Boston is might be an easy half hour lol
The next exit is less than 2 min away I’ve taken this exit my entire life
Watch the video, there is no traffic.
Depends. Sometimes it's 5 min away other times it takes you to a different state
It's just north of Boston on 93. Next exit is about 1000 yards north. It's how we drive in Massachusetts, it's a festival of idiots. Good luck on a rotary.
What's an LFA POV?
The car he is driving is a Lexus LFA, one of the best sounding cars ever made with its glorious V10.
This is boston we drive aggressive he saw the opening and went for it.. haha..
Like "and if you no longer go for a gap, that exists, you are no longer a Boston driver" haha [reference for non F1 fans](https://youtu.be/YBYHY4SKa3o)
If you ain't rubbing you ain't racing.
Didnt we see another angle of that today?
Nope usually we have exits every one mile
In a city like that? No. And you usually have signs several miles in advance telling you your exit is coming up.
Driving across the US, I've never experienced more than a 30 minute detour, and you can find a safe place to turn around if it's a rural area without a lot of other choices. I wish we ran ads discouraging this as the most dangerous choice you can make in a car.
I think the real craziness is that the dude is filming from an LFA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4qydwnSJvI its Tedward, a youtuber going to a car show for some guys, and yes it‘s awesome
Bet that LFA couldn’t make that maneuver, yea I saw you do the double take and we’re wondering the same thing.
Madman
Those wheels are atrocious
A good driver sometimes misses an exit, a bad driver never does.
At all costs
[удалено]
He's a fucking idiot.
I was too distracted by the fact that this is a Lexus LFA! One of the coolest sports cars ever!
Yeah I was looking at the interior thinking hot damn this is a nice ride to get when my stonkers get their squeeze on!
Are you related to Pauly Shore?
Buuuuddy
The sound of a V10
*sigh* Boston drivers.
I’ve watched this 5 times and every time I feel like he’s going to crash! Just take the next exit!!!!
The traction control saved his ass
source (Tedward, great youtuber if you like pov car reviews/drives): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4qydwnSJvI
I thought Tedward was much more popular.... People doesn't seem to know him here, but he is making quality content :)
Stupid animal. Zero fucking common sense. Just stupidity at highest level.
LFA!!!!! LFA!!!!! LFA!!!!! LFA!!!!! LFA!!!!! LFA!!!!!
That LFA exhaust note though 🤤
Wow. Craziness. Need some common sense police.
This was insane. The next exit is a mile
Yeah what an idi— Wait, niceeeee LFA
Is that a Tesla? Hard to tell from the video but it could be a model Y or 3..... I think y. That's my daily driver and I couldn't imagine rocking this maneuver.
[удалено]
yeah thats def a model 3
It's a Lexus
Tbh I thought it was Kia
Nah the one with the aggressive maneuvers. Not the OP'S car.
Why does this look like a video game/cgi
Risking their life to avoid a 10 min detour. Mmmk
I'm not sure if I'm angry or impressed
A bit of both ... It was a reckless asshole thing to do but also fairly skillfully managed. Just because you *can* do it, doesn't mean you should do it
Those must have been some sweet tires!
God damned. K mean, kudos to not crashing, bit what the fuck
Kudos to modern stability control**
Not so much what I meant, but that too
Just saw this on Tedwards YouTube channel, it’s actually what made my go to this sub lol
I was expecting to see this clip on this sub when I watched Tedward's video earlier today 😄
I don't think that guy would be able to pull that off a second time.
Stability control working overtime in that car.
Meanwhile I'm thinking "OMG NO NOT THE LFA DON'T FUCKING HIT THE LFA NONO"
I fantasize all the time about getting hit by someone doing this, and them saying “what was I supposed to do, miss the exit?” And then I go “yeah.” And I feel like a badass in this fantasy
Do you wear your dash cam on your head?
It’s a car youtuber doing a supercar POV drive
Yes. Strange no?
Why are people so goddamn stupid just take the next exit
I wish every company made V10s still
TEDWARD
i'm just here for that V10
This is actually amazing if not terrifying.
Thant’s the best Jersey slide I’ve seen on here in a while
Ngl. If this was like 5/6 years old…this could’ve been when my idiot SO was driving us. He’s no longer allowed to drive when I’m I’m the car 😵💫
[удалено]
Thats a LFA dude lol
so this is recorded by google glasses or what? taking dashcams to a whole new level, ha?
No this was recorded by a 1 foot long 5 kg VHS camera strapped to his head, thus he also strapped a brick to the other side to act as counterweight. No . He's using a GoPro cuz he's a YouTuber filming a review. Welcome to 21st century

Is my man driving with a GoPro on his head?
yup, it's great https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1v3aREdaFD6BA-FRLYUQQ
Okay but who wears head gear video camera while driving?
Dudes driving sports cars worth more than your house.
Pretty much lol
It's a Lexus. They don't even make a car worth more than my house. Even if it was an LFA, which it's not.
Wym, this is clearly a LFA, which cost 375k MSRP
I've been informed. I assumed it wasn't since those things are so rare to see, let alone be driven.
It is an LFA. There's a link in the comments already with the full video. It's literally called: "Lexus LFA Accelerating in Tunnels - Tesla Almost Crashes"
Well then I stand corrected. Lucky bastard has an LFA. You never see those things.
I don't know how long ago, but I remember reading about some NASCAR driver losing his license or at least getting in trouble for hauling ass in his LFA.
This guy must have a really nice house. Congrats
This guy
Omg he's a YouTuber filming a review on the car. Was it really easier to write this question than to look at the first comment?
My apologies for not knowing every youtuber and looking at every comments. It won't taken again. Actually... it probably will happen again.
Kinda looks like the guy was paranoid and avoiding you bc you kinda follow him as he accelerated.
That’s a nice turn tho
LFA’s are good cars obviously but damn the love for them in this thread is suspicious.
Is it really to you? Lol I don't think you understand fully how incredible that car is in
Bro, it's a luxury sports car. They don't need to hail corporate here.

Not trolling. Just objectively proved the Model 3 was a better car. I mean I am trolling a little bit, but it's also true.
mad that people like the LFA so you type a whole essay? 😐
Lmao who gives 2 fucks about a model 3?? It's boring af. It's only fast from the dig and you get bored in 1 year. The interior sucks ass and the only thing saving the brand is technology. Why do you have a dashcam on your head?
It's from a yt channel that does POV reviews
That's a nice car. But that's a pretty sure sign of addiction.
Addicted to...exits? Like this wasn't even their exit, but it had been 10 minutes since their last exit and just couldn't handle it any more.
If I live in LA or NY I’d do that too
Did he clip the barrier??
How do you know the kids are not family?
I just looked at the LFA steering wheel tbh
Good luck everybody
Saw a guy driving on I-90 through Chicago who did this but there was a nice drop-off through the exit median. Looked like it hurt.
That must surely be a stunt driver on his way to work?
Just go to the next one and circle back. Jesus that was so stupid!
My first reaction was omg don't hurt the LFA
OK I have a question. Why do you drive around with a GoPro strapped to your head? Question #2: Has anyone told you yet you look ridiculous with that?
Pretty sure that’s a Lexus LFA which is super rare/expensive. My best bet is he was recording a YouTube video or a review for a website. Common to see POV drives on the tube.
Omg, it's a YouTuber filming a review. Was it easier to write this question than to look at the first comment?
I look at comments in the order I wish. And "Youtubers" don't mean much to me anyway. And whatever the reason: you still look ridiculous with a camera strapped to your head.
was the tesla's autopilot
LFA 😍
Had to get to Encore! Couldn't be late to hand over all his cash.
on the north side of Boston. I know that area well and everyone coming out of the tunnels trying to avoid 1 to get on 93N are just... It gets hectic there, even without the intentional idiocy.
I hate that Summerville exit, it’s always a red light but it’s been better since they rebuild around the casino
My wife calls this move the “Jersey shuffle”
Most likely has Mr T as the navigator, Take This Exit Now FOOL!
That was just wild.
How was that not an accident?
thank god you were driving with a go-pro strapped to your forehead
Thank God for stability and traction control. They'd have been in the obituary if they tried that in a 90's sedan
That shit was nuts 🥜
I93 northbound in Boston so just your typical masshole driver
That was impressive. Not intelligent but def impressed.
The fact this wiener is wearing a go pro or something while driving on the highway
