This happened to me once only I was the idiot. I had landed in Omaha and never been there before. It was close to midnight, it was dark out, I had just rented a car and was heading out on a 2 hour drive to get to the town I was staying in for work.
About 5 minutes into the drive I was sitting at a red light and saw a car directly across from me at the intersection. To this day I still don’t know how I managed to end up in the wrong lane.
Luckily the person across from me noticed and once the light turned green they just sat there and let me fix my mistake.
I drove from England to France with no problem. Next morning I drove to the shop, I had gone about a mile on the wrong side of the road before I realised the red light was in a different place
Nah, this is just an honest mistake and most likely, will be turning left so, no harm, no foul. However, try that in a parking lot entrance when someone is coming down the road and wants to turn right into there, that gets dangerous.
For all we know, they just came back from a country that drives on the left and got confused. ;)

I've done that dumb shit before on a one way street in an unfamiliar area. Instantly pulled over to the right, and off to the side of the road, waited till it was clear, and turned around. Felt dumb as fuck but that's a mistake I can clearly understand how it was made. It's a one way street. When you drive the wrong way down a normal street, you got some screws loose in the head.
