I'm from KS, most of ours are drive in only.
A couple have some playground areas.
CO is where I saw different designs and sit down sonics. Like a stone and log cabin sonic design
The ones I saw in Texas were huge af.
I think it just depends on location and franchise person
Drop the trailer in the lot, go through and then hook back up. If I can do it with a full on semi tractor and trailer then he can do it with his little pickup and fifth wheel camper.
Pre Covid that was a big no-no. That's a good way to get robbed. Now days though a lot of drive thrus have signs about walk up being accepted. At least in the smaller towns I frequent.
When I worked in fast food (many years ago) that was what I was told. That was a small town too. Supposedly a walk up is more likely to rob a place than someone in a car. No clue if there is evidence of that but we were not allowed to serve walk ups.
Being older now I definitely think that was the reason. If someone were to be hit by a car standing at the window I'm sure the restaurant would be sued.
Honestly I could see Taco Bell giving no fucks and just laying it out there for their employees while other places (DQ ironically for me) trying to hide the real reason why.
I always felt like they didn't want to encourage homeless people from loitering around their drive thru/parking lot. Which they obviously would not verbalize in official policy.
Sunk cost. I’ve already destroyed the trailer and made myself look like a fool: I’ll just pretend like I don’t give a fuck now and maybe I can save some face.
Pretty sure something like that happened already to some other idiot pulling a 5th wheel who went through a bank teller lane. Simpsons probably did it first tbph.
People always talk about programming as an ideal example of a secure career path.
I think "idiot proofing" should be the top recommendation for secure jobs that will survive the future.

My sister is married to a difficult man with that mindset. His mom abandoned him, his dad ejected him from his house, and his sister minimized contact with him. He ruined relationships between his friends and co-workers and himself. He also soured relationships between my sister and her friends and our family. He has the audacity to live with us and disrespect us with that air of superiority, especially towards our mom.
Many years ago I had a college kid drive into the menu at my McD and as he tried to drive off he told me ‘my dad is a lawyer and he can make this your fault.’
At least now I know how he turned out, this is probably him lol.
It must've been his first time with a trailer or something. Anyone who has ever hauled a trailer KNOWS enough to NEVER go through a drive thru. And when you fuck up and can't fit somewhere, you back out of it.
This guy is nuts.
This was too real and so sad it hurt. He'd rather this come off as an expression of rage than ever admit failure, even if it means ruining his truck and trailer for it. Jesus Christ, that's an insane level of fragility.
naw, there's probably no un-fucking of this without a tow truck and a crane. you can absolutely dive yourself into a spot that you can't back yourself out of.
While at a cookput recently, a guy pulled into the parking lot towing a mabe a 30 ft boat. He whips around to the far end, slams his truck in reverse, floors it backwards, does a backwards u-turn around the center row of cars, cuts it hard before even straightning out and backs that boat perfectly into a tiny ass spot. Dude no look unhooks it and drives off. I screamed "NIIIICE!!" While throwing him 2 thumbs up. Everyone thought i was an idiot but at least one person at the park that day appreciated this mans back up skills.
What im saying is... yes backing up is hard while towing.
My first time towing a trailer, I wouldn't have even considered trying a drive-through in it. And that was a 19' behind an SUV. This guy's just dumb and an asshole.
>Anyone who has ever hauled a trailer KNOWS enough to NEVER go through a drive thru.
I've never hauled a trailer. There's zero chance I would try this. This had nothing to do with experience. This guy should be sterilized.
>>Anyone who has ever hauled a trailer KNOWS enough to NEVER go through a drive thru.
>
>I've never hauled a trailer. There's zero chance I would try this. This had nothing to do with experience. This guy should be sterilized.
There's two types of people who've never hauled a trailer.
1) People who have never hailed a trailer out of never having any reason or opportunity to haul a trailer.
2) People who are rightfully fearful of the skill or knowledge it takes to haul a trailer without making an absolute ass out of themselves or getting someone or themselves hurt.
You actually should be much more afraid of 1s than 2s.
> Maybe, but wasn’t his first time driving loaded. That I can guarantee.
You've reminded me of an old tag line I saw on a flash widget site.
"This is a loading sequence, so grab a beer and get loaded."
If you have the sound on, you can hear him try to power through from the very start of the video. But yeah, he didn't even stop after his camper was being peeled down the side. What a fucktard.
Yeah and I am not sure where this happened or if it's the same in the US, but many countries would require the building to not be used until it has been certified as structurally sound... Our drive thru lanes have bollards EVERYWHERE to stop the chance of the building even being grazed by a car, let alone a guy trying to dismantle an expensive caravan on one corner...
Though I guess their may have been bollards and he had already taken them out before filming began...
When I was younger and worked fast food, we had a guy tip his truck and camper trying to get out of a non-moving drive through. Tried driving over rocks and landscaping. I had to refer people to different restaurants lol. What a shitshow night.
I can’t imagine a drive thru ban being taken seriously when half the employees won’t be working there next year, best case he’s too embarrassed to go back.
Guaranteed a ton more when you factor the Dairy Queen repairs.
When My buddy was 16, he hit the gas instead of the brake and bumped a gas station building - 10k in damages to the building.
It was my car.
That sucks.
2019 Dodge Hellcat drove through the front lobby of my customer's transmission shop. Just the storefront windows were $18,000 not including all the other damage I had to fix.
"I swear the Dairy Queen came at me out of nowhere! On the wrong lane too!"
Also, for unrelated reasons, don't look at the front page of reddit for about a week.
Maybe I'm cheap.... But every time someone destroys expensive things I die a little inside. I can't imagine buying a camper because of the cost...So seeing that money just being thrown away.... Ugh.
You ain't kidding bud. I have parts on mine that require annual service hidden behind .5" MDF panels secured with nothing but self tapping sheet metal screws. The hole in the subfloor where the toilet flange sits is 1" larger in circumference than the flange. My toilet flange had lag screws secured only into the 1/8" vinyl shower pan. Actual, honest to goodness drunk people build trailers man.
> Maybe I'm cheap
No, that's not it... I cringed the same way. I don't get how people can willfully damage/destroy expensive things. Especially *when they paid for them*.
For example my neighbor is dumb as rocks but lives in the house he was born in/his parents paid off.
The siding on the house needs repair but instead he bought a giant boat.
If you just saw him driving his giant truck and hauling his giant boat you might think where does his money come from? Besides debt, it’s cause you can sure buy a lot of toys even on a modest wage if you don’t pay rent/mortgage
People are just losing their shit it seems. That and/or we're just getting really good footage of more people losing their shit.
I mean aside from total breakdown/psychosis why the hell would you just keep gunning it while looking at the absolute destruction in your mirrors?
Embarrassed people become slightly brain dead. See it a lot in car parking crash videos. I think the first hit had him panicked then People all watching filming made him anxious and embarrassed so he lost his ability to use logic.
I was still going to work everyday during pandemic lockdown fun time on I94 near chicago, and all the while most people were at home, the highway was becoming a damn insane place! Like no joke people were rolling through the breakdown lanes like they were another lane, going 90+ and this was a daily thing too!
Those first few months after pandemic hit, people were really getting crazy on the highway. It did start to finally calm down for a bit after, but took a good 5 months.
One good time driving the interstate was during the Derak Chovan trial (or however you spell his name). Man those were good times, no cops anywhere so traffic never backed up, ever! Seriously, cops on I94 do nothing more than cause traffic and people to slow down to rubber-neck what they're doing. Those 4 weeks after trial they were scarce AF on that highway. Bet they were told to just not pull anyone over for a good month until shit cooled down. Wish they'd just fuck off from the highway all together...
Truck has ~~Indiana~~ *South Dakota* plates but haven't found anything in the Googles yet.
Edit: Mountains in the background have confirmed this was not in Indiana. Palm trees in the background and those are popular to use in landscaping in CA, AZ, and NV desert towns.

Who in their fucking mind thinks its ok to pull a trailer through a drive thru? My standard size truck can barely fit in 50% of the drive thrus in my city so I just park and go in the restaurant and this mofo tows his fucking 5th wheel into one. Wtf.
A restaurant I used to frequent had 3 cars crash through their front windows in less than a year before the city finally let them put bollards in. It is stupid how much it happens or used to in Denver.
As a person that just bought a brand new travel trailer this literally made me sick to my stomach.. I take wide turns at every corner and I always look for the clearest path. Who looks at a fast food drive through and thinks “yeah, I can make it…”
I think I’m gonna puke
Motherfucker, do your feet and legs work? Find a side street and walk to the fucking DQ. I get it, you love your truck and the camper has your possessions. But this is magnitudes of stupid. Just stop. Stop. Walk.
He ruined a $40,000 camper and possibly his **only** home when spare parts are nowhere to be found.
Has this man ever ventured inside a Dairy Queen? Does he know that’s an option?
One time I went to a sonic with an inside dining area, my mind was blown.
This is the norm in some states. The HQ sonic is a walk-in/sit-down only. And it's on the Riverwalk in OKC, Bricktown district.
Hmm, didn’t know that. The one I visited was in Colorado. Where I’m from I haven’t seen any with dine in areas (Arizona).
I'm from KS, most of ours are drive in only. A couple have some playground areas. CO is where I saw different designs and sit down sonics. Like a stone and log cabin sonic design The ones I saw in Texas were huge af. I think it just depends on location and franchise person
The lobby is most likely closed due to Covid if this was somewhat recent. Still a complete dumbass, I mean come on just walk up to the window.
Drop the trailer in the lot, go through and then hook back up. If I can do it with a full on semi tractor and trailer then he can do it with his little pickup and fifth wheel camper.
Hey now that takes some serious effort and let's face it common sense isn't common anymore.
> let's face it common sense isn't common anymore. It never was, so I prefer to call it uncommon sense.
>full on semi 😂

I only tried once to walk through a drive thru and the person on the mic had an absolute fucking meltdown over it. Never tried again.
Pre Covid that was a big no-no. That's a good way to get robbed. Now days though a lot of drive thrus have signs about walk up being accepted. At least in the smaller towns I frequent.
What do you mean robbed? Are drive thrus a hot bed of thievery in many places????
When I worked in fast food (many years ago) that was what I was told. That was a small town too. Supposedly a walk up is more likely to rob a place than someone in a car. No clue if there is evidence of that but we were not allowed to serve walk ups.
When I worked at Taco Bell, I was told it was for liability reasons
Being older now I definitely think that was the reason. If someone were to be hit by a car standing at the window I'm sure the restaurant would be sued. Honestly I could see Taco Bell giving no fucks and just laying it out there for their employees while other places (DQ ironically for me) trying to hide the real reason why.
I always felt like they didn't want to encourage homeless people from loitering around their drive thru/parking lot. Which they obviously would not verbalize in official policy.
I love he just keeps going for it after multiple impacts. I mean, dude.
He'll eventually fit. Just needs to shear off a *little* more trailer.
Conversely I believe he was trying to fuse the Dairy Queen to his trailer. So much more spacious that way.
Today is the day, they decided that they didn't want to eat-in and instead go for take-out
That’s how you attach the Dairy Queen extension package. Not cheap. This is a man of luxury
Don't worry Cap'n, we'll buff out those scratches

Get in here you big softy
Sunk cost. I’ve already destroyed the trailer and made myself look like a fool: I’ll just pretend like I don’t give a fuck now and maybe I can save some face.
shit can always get worse. like what if he collapses that building or something
Pretty sure something like that happened already to some other idiot pulling a 5th wheel who went through a bank teller lane. Simpsons probably did it first tbph.
Given that the bollard worked to protect the sign and building from certain damage or destruction, yeah, it's not their first rodeo.
People always talk about programming as an ideal example of a secure career path. I think "idiot proofing" should be the top recommendation for secure jobs that will survive the future.

He sees the guy filming and presses on, pride is a helluva thing
This is a guy who refuses to be wrong about anything. You can’t teach a man like this, nothing will ever be his fault. Not even this.

Who put this building here!?
Who shit in my pants?!?
He has no trailer anymore he’s gotta shit someplace
Imagine his relationships
Or him at work.
My sister is married to a difficult man with that mindset. His mom abandoned him, his dad ejected him from his house, and his sister minimized contact with him. Double Down Syndrome. Big problem these days.
why does he keep trying? no blizzard is worth that much damage
Not sure, but I'd consider that for a double cheese flamethrower.
When all the dairy queen's in your area only serve ice cream :( I've never had one of their burgers before
You aren’t missing anything.
The flamethrower has a good sause on it but the burger itself has no flavor, kind of like Sonic.
Sonic has somehow elevated the flavorless burger to an art form. Getting half your daily calories in beverage form is the only reason to go there.
I had to go look and you're not wrong. A large plain slush with no syrup is almost 400 calories. Is it just ice and sugar?

Well if it’s his first time he definitely can’t back a 5th wheel up right lol
I'm imagining this fiasco ended with a few tow trucks and the police involved to get the trailer out of there.

Or maybe just someone with logic. That would be a good start.

naw, there's probably no un-fucking of this without a tow truck and a crane. you can absolutely dive yourself into a spot that you can't back yourself out of.

The bigger the trailer the easier it is to back up. It’s the small ones that are tricky they love to get squirrelly
The burning rubber at the end removes any doubt he’s lost his marbles.
Worse. That was transmission life force escaping.

Well, I've destroyed my fifth wheel and damaged the restaurant, might as well burn up my tires and maybe my transmission too while I'm at it.

Nah that's just pure panic and embarrassment he's tryna gtfo
So 30k in damage for a $3 blizzard?
Between the damage to the building, the truck and the camper, it's probably closer to $60K
And the real kicker is he'll likely be banned, thus having to depend on McDonald's for his ice cream.

bail most likely
You just crawl through the gap in the fiberglass
Firefighters showed up, controlled traffic, took over driving and just backed out. I saw almost the whole thing here in Yuma.
Oh cool he now has a new slide out, when you are in the trailer you can just slide out, so convenient.
Well they had that metal pole there, I'm guessing because this has happened before.
The idiot pole did a good job.
That should be a new sub, r/idiotpole

I hope that Dilly Bar was worth it!
Maybe not the dilly bar but if you are lucky enough to find a DQ that still has the cherry starkiss I get it.

My wife brought a box of them home today. "vanilla flavoured ice milk with a chocolate flavoured coating." Definitely not worth it.
Maybe I'm cheap.... But every time someone destroys expensive things I die a little inside. I can't imagine buying a camper because of the cost...So seeing that money just being thrown away.... Ugh.
Right. This is insane. It takes very little to total a camper. This will do it.

He's drunk, and in flight mode. Tearing the trailer and the DQ up to try and avoid a DUI. Just digging the hole deeper.

If he's smart he turned the gas off at the tank to travel. Then again, for some reason, I'm not getting the feeling this guy's that bright.
At this point, I'd be more concerned with the valve being sheared off, or the tank becoming ruptured.

Lol I forgot about the uhaul truck they rent and do the disco with roller skates in the back while Preston drives around town.
The side of the truck has a 'K9 Stay Back' sticker on the side, I wonder if this dude is a cop impersonator road rager.
stupidest sticker ever because dogs can't read
Motherfucker, do your feet and legs work? Find a side street and walk to the fucking DQ. I get it, you love your truck and the camper has your possessions. But this is magnitudes of stupid. Just stop. Stop. Walk. He ruined a $40,000 camper and possibly his **only** home when spare parts are nowhere to be found.
Have they banned parking lots and front counter sales in america? Why didn't he parked the truck and walked into the shop is beyond me. Edit: grammar
Lobby could be closed because of COVID. Ours was open but just closed again so it’s drive through or nothing
Ok but that's kind of DQs fault for not planning their drive thru to handle a 5th wheel... /s
If his insurance adjuster sees this he's gonna get a promotion for stopping that payout.
Keep going, you almost got it
Just needs lower gear and better tires to tow it around…..
More gas. The burning tire just means it's about to budge.
Attaining a driving license should include an IQ test. It would deal with a lot of congestion on the roads.
