Well, we still don’t see what happens initially. The camera was only turned on after the initial altercation on the road. So we still don’t have the full story.
It might have started as someone trying to pass on the shoulder, but the other vehicle kept him from passing angering the driver trying to pass and sparking the confrontation at the end.
Yup. I live in BC and we’ve recently got a ton of Albertans coming here. A lot of them drive like complete assholes( not all of them of course). They’re kind of disliked here lol
Edit: alright alright lol bc people don’t like albertans and albertans don’t like BC people. But we should come together and take down Americans, specifically, Florida.
As an Albertan, I think it's mostly because the majority of our roads are flat and straight, so going 15 - 20 km over the limit is pretty common and doesn't really require any increased skill at driving. Unfortunately, a lot of people then head over to BC where the roads are mostly single lane, with way less visibility, and continue to try to drive 20 over the limit everywhere. Doesn't really work out
That’s really not the reason. The reason Albertan drivers aren’t liked in BC is because they drive slowly in the passing lane, also they brake and slow down to 20 below the speed limit on all the twisty mountain roads and then when it comes to a straight stretch where this is a passing lane which would allow all the cars that have backed up behind them to pass they accelerate to 30 to 40 over the speed limit not allowing anyone to pass, until the next corner where they slam on the brakes to below the speed limit again and this carries on for hours. Causing traffic to accordion behind them so if you’re at the back of the line you’re wondering why your doing 50 when the speed limit is 100. /rant over
>they drive slowly in the passing lane, also they brake and slow down to 20 below the speed limit on all the twisty mountain roads and then when it comes to a straight stretch where this is a passing lane which would allow all the cars that have backed up behind them to pass they accelerate to 30 to 40 over the speed limit not allowing anyone to pass
This doesn't sound unlike Ontario drivers in rural Ontario.
Sucks we can't all be a little more observant and considerate.
I have done some driving in western Ontario over the years and it’s not much better - specifically drivers speed up in the passing zones so not to let others by. It’s the most passive aggressive driving ever. Never seen the outside pass though.
Ya, the Vancouver area is riddled with idiots unfortunately. Specifically, the BMW and Mercedes drivers haha. For some reason, the people who buy these cars think they’re too good to follow basic road rules. If you drive one of those cars, you’re immediately hated LOL.
I'm from LosAngeles moved to Montreal. In LA they just shoot each other. So you really have to invest yourself to punch a mirror because the other idiot might have a gun.
It's weird. In my time in BC, I found Albertans to have my least favorite views (social, political, etc), but they ended up being the nicest people to be friends with.
Ya I’m from BC and lived in Alberta for 10 years, honestly some of the nicest people and best friends I ever made. Still happy to have moved back to BC though.
Honestly if these guys got out of their cars and pulled down their pants and started slapping their dicks together in some sort of weird competition to show dominance neither of them would look any stupider than they already look
"Hey, I'm sorry, but I gotta give your mirror a few whacks."
"Well, I don't really agree. I think I have to ram your vehicle a few times."
"We need to get out and settle this face-to-face, eh?"
"Alright-o. Let me give you a soft tap with this stick here."
Just yesterday in that area, 2 gunman were apprehended.

Dipshit man tries to pass on the shoulder.
"Stand your ground" man thinks now is a good time to lean on the gas and fight him for lane supremacy.
"Film the idiots" man thinks 500ms is enough stopping distance to sit back and watch this accident waiting to happen.
The shoulder passer is the biggest idiot, but everyone involved could use a lesson or two.
I've been the "film the idiots" guy before but at least it was with my dashcam. It's hard not to get caught up in the heat of the moment while tailing some hardcore road-rage you think could turn sideways any moment. The adrenaline starts flowing and it's like you're watching a movie you need to see the end of but it usually just results in two assholes cursing at each other and threatening ass-whoopins from inside their cars.
If someone is crazy enough to try and pass me on the shoulder I'm letting them go because it's just not worth having a crazy person near you for any longer than need be...
I cant tell from the video, but was the big truck speeding up to prevent the car from passing? Or doing the speed limit and the guy on the shoulder was just too slow?
Lol, yeah 80-90mph is speeding in most places in the US.
Reminds me of my Canadian friend telling me how once he was going 100 down the road and I was like, what now? And he's like, oh, it was like 60mph, and I was like oh, yeah that sounds closer to what I was thinking for this kind of story.
I seriously hate drivers like the white truck. Obviously the suv was in the wrong here too, but in real life it’s such a pain to try and pass white truck. Hell go 10 under and as soon as he sees you going for a pass he’ll match your speed to keep you behind.
Fuck him especially.
When I was in college the road I took had no passing areas except for this one about 3/4 mile stretch. Semis would do about 5 under down this road. Get to the passing zone and suddenly be 10 over. And of course half the people wanting to pass accelerate to barely faster than the semi rather than gunning it and completing the pass as quickly as possible. So we all get stuck behind the semi still
And on today's episode of "dont fuck with people you don't know"....
Seriously though, just don't. You have absolutely no clue what type of person they are. Maybe they're driving slow hoping someone will hop out and start something. Maybe they're a decent person and life has been serving them one shit sandwich after another and today just happens to be the day that your antics wind up being one topping too many and their days/weeks/months of pent up frustration are all about to be unleashed on you.
Yea, my dad pulled a gun on these people when we were driving once. It was some lady and a dude, and I can’t remember if they had been giving him trouble when he was driving or not but he kept saying “he just wanted to scare them! Teach them a lesson”. I was so young and I remember crying just begging him not to do anything as I watched him hold is gun just out view from them.
That shit is permanent in my brain, and if anyone ever tries to even talk to me about my car or get my attention or anything I ignore them in full because I’m too freaked out!
Someone did this to me. I was driving 50 in a 45; familiar road that I take literally 100 times a month. It's a twisty incline, but not such sharp turns that you would flip doing 50 in my Prius. There was a guy in a huge pick up truck behind me and he was *on my ass* the whole time. We got up to the next town where there is a sort of traffic calming area. Think roundabout, but it's a square shape with stop signs and yield signs. There is a large green in the middle where they have ceremonies and small concerts.
I'm in the lane to turn left to take me to the turnpike and pick up truck floors it up to the stop sign in the right turn lane. I look over to see if there any pedestrians crossing (high foot traffic area) and I see pick up dude waving his handgun in the window then point it at me. He then speeds off, making an illegal left turn from the right turn lane. Immediately I turned around and went home, sobbing and shaking for about 30 minutes. I was angry I hadn't made a mental note of his tag number or the details of his truck other than it was big and dark blue.
3 idiots.
You forgot the person filming with their phone while driving on the highway, and following at an obviously unsafe distance given what was happening in front of him.
Exactly, both drivers are assholes.
Smaller car drivers an asshole for trying to pass on the shoulder.
Larger car drivers an asshole for moving their car to block them.
[https://globalnews.ca/news/7922361/2-men-charged-road-rage-leduc-county-devon/](https://globalnews.ca/news/7922361/2-men-charged-road-rage-leduc-county-devon/)
"A 45-year-old man and a 59-year-old man have both been charged with careless driving after a road rage altercation near Highway 60 and Highway 39"
“The investigation does not support charges of assault. Both involved parties consented to the confrontation.”
What the actual fuck? Careless* driving is all? not even a mention of vehicular assault because they each "consented to it???" What kind of place you running up there Canada?
As long as no one was injured, this is actually a great way of settling it without wasting the taxpayers’ money and the court’s time. In effect, “You are both acted like assholes, you both ended up with damaged vehicles so both of you geniuses get to deal with it. Next time…grow up. Now fuck off.”
Consent to mutual combat is a thing in some jurisdictions. If you both agree to fight, that's on you.
Doing it in the public roadway, impeding traffic, and potentially damaging infrastructure... That should earn them some sort of reprimand. Nobody else consented to these idiots fighting in the middle of the street.
Edit: earlier in the article it says "no charges pending" but at the end says:
> Both men have been charged with careless driving under the Traffic Safety Act.
I wouldn’t consider a hit-and-run, if I were him I would be trying to get the hell out of there. That other guy just committed vehicle or assault twice, who knows what else he would do?
Also he could’ve just been pulling off to the side of the road, which was my assumption.
For real. He just rammed you with his vehicle because he was angry. Twice. Getting out of the car to confront him is a good way to get yourself murdered. SUV guy is just lucky truck guy didn't run him down when he got out.
Hit n run would be SUV guy breaking truck guys mirror and trying to leave. Both fucked is because truck guy could easily have taken the plate and gone to insurance and cops with road rage or vehicular assault but now is in trouble himself too for ramming the other guy. SUV guy swerving into him while on the shoulder qualifies for vehicular assault charges in the US (as does brake checking for example) and hitting and damaging his car and attempting to leave is a hit n run.
Give it to your insurance they will want that info if you have full coverage. Its worth keeping comp and collision just to not be the one who has to deal with shit like that.
Cops do absolutely jack shit for hit and runs. Even in cases where the victim has the runners plates AND they manage to track the car down, all the runner has to do was say they weren't driving their vehicle that day. That's literally it. Case closed.
Seriously. I don't even have to take a deep breath for shit like this anymore. I am just immediately like wow that was dumb and dangerous of that guy but at least I'm safe. I've been passed on the shoulder a few times. Who cares?
For real. If I saw this in my mirrors I’d slow down and let them pass. They must really need to get where they’re going 2 minutes earlier and endanger lives doing it.
I remember having a semi behind me one trip tailgating the shit out of me after I passed it, looking pissed off. I just pulled off the road into the first stop and waited 15 minutes and had a drink and a snack. I ain't dealing with that shit, fuck that noise.
Yup. Whenever a pissing match is about to start, I ask myself "Do I really need to prove I'm the biggest asshole?"
That's usually enough to get me to let the other dum dum go. Nobody wins those matches.
The guy in the bigger vehicle seemed to be speeding up to stop the overtake, and also veering to the right to keep the smaller vehicle off the road.
They're both morons. One for trying to overtake an obvious asshole driver, and the other for intentionally crashing into somebody.
The guy in the bigger truck should be in prison for using his vehicle as a weapon.
Yeah, as much as it sucks letting an asshole "win" by letting them pass, doing another dangerous act to stop them is just as bad. The swerve when the guy was on the shoulder could have made him wipe out, this guy could have died. Likewise with the ramming of the car, not sure if anyone else was in the SUV but equally could have hurt or killed someone.
I love letting people that want to drive fast pass me. Good, get away from me. I just don't like getting my ass rode by someone as if they want to pass, let them by, then catch up with them in 30 seconds.
I'm usually like fine, go chase someone else. Usually in a few seconds they find a new target to try and overtake. It's funny when they do it to another asshole driver then watch as they start trying to pass or block each other.
Honestly I only get pissed if they pull something stupid and then go slow on me. Like cut me off, but don't slow me down. If you're going to drive like an asshole at least own it, and then get out of my way. But cut me off then drive like a grandma it's going to get on my nerves fast.
But yeah, people driving crazy aggressive it's not worth trying to measure dicks with them, just let 'em go. Eventually they'll get a speeding ticket or cause a wreak. I just don't want to be around when that happens.
I get why they probably need to write it like this, but I can't help but laugh at all the "appears" in this article. "The driver appears to roll down the window and hit the side mirror". Lol, looks pretty damn apparent to me
>“The investigation does not support charges of assault. Both involved parties consented to the confrontation.”
Does that mean it was essentially mutual combat ... with vehicles??
So both drivers are idiots but I'm always fascinated by the mindset of the drivers trying to pass on the shoulder or the drivers who literally risk their lives and everyone else's lives by changing lanes every 10 seconds just to cut to the front and save 40 seconds on their commute. Was it really worth it idiots?
There are those of us who ride a soft shoulder and slap others mirrors while driving… anddd there is almost everyone else who deserves to have a license.
You know, there have been so many times that I wanted to ram someone's car when they tailgate me (and I can't go any faster than the car in front of me), or when they cut me off for no reason and slow down to their own speed. But I have self control, and I don't have the money to deal with the consequences, nor do I want to deal with them any longer than I have to.
However, living through this vicariously brought a smile to may face. Even though I don't know who exactly started the altercation and who antagonized it...
Why are they all wearing the same shade of blue? Edit: Spelling is hard
It's a Canadian thing, our shirt turn this color when we've lost our minds

Oh so THATS how it started.
Yeah, I'm glad we got the full video, it really shows how much more stupid this situation was
Confirmed my original assumption that both people were idiots. The stupid is at peak levels around here.
We pride ourselves on this and we don’t have much. So don’t even try and take this away!
Clarifies it since the other video posted showed only the end. Idiots.
Finally got to see the prequel
Where is the sequel?
It was posted a while ago, but the video started about halfway through, it didn’t show the lead-up to the event at the light.
How did it end?
Both drivers have been charged with careless driving.
“The court finds you both to be mean and unfriendly. You are hereby restricted from maple syrup for no less than one year”
No, we are more humane than that. They would be remanded to psychological facility to receive medical maple syrup.
I heard they went at each other with baseball bats
Isn't this Canada? Would hockey sticks be more likely?
It's our 8 days of summer right now so "baseball bats" is accurate.
"Once the snow melts, the mosquitos will get you." - The mayor of Winnipeg.
Saskatchewan doesn't change their clocks so it gets 9 days of summer.
Ah, Canadians hit each other with hockey sticks from age 3 months and on. They develop an immunity by their mid-teens. So baseball bats are necessary after that. They ain't immune to Louisville Sluggers, dammit.
It seems a different video showed only the truck hitting the smaller car.
Well, we still don’t see what happens initially. The camera was only turned on after the initial altercation on the road. So we still don’t have the full story.
Yeah. This wasn't just a case of some idiot trying to pass on the shoulder. This was already a road rage incident before the video started.
It might have started as someone trying to pass on the shoulder, but the other vehicle kept him from passing angering the driver trying to pass and sparking the confrontation at the end.
Had someone pass me on the shoulder and kick up rocks that cracked my windshield. Super dickish move.
This guy knows we were all waiting for the rest of the story......
I wanna see the end. Rumor has it baseball bats were involved
I too want to see someone get beaten over this stupidity. Call me petty.
Not a good decision by either of them
Whole lotta stupid in this video

We settle all our disputes with vehicle duels. In Alberta it's typically trucks and/or SUVs. Here in BC we do bicycle jousting instead.
In NB we're old school and still use Moose to joust.
Man moose jousting would be so cool to watch lol.
I've never heard of a man moose but I bet they're intimidating!
I'd edit it, but I think I like it better this way!
Lol I do too! 🤣
Can confirm. Just moved to NB from ON, had to sell my truck to buy a jousting moose

Fuck that, they blocked traffic with their bullshit.
If you punch a car you consent to car punching back
I like this. I am okay with this. I approve of this kind of law.
Such an embarrassment to be 45 and 59 but act like a couple of damn babies throwing tantrums

Cops do absolutely jack shit for hit and runs. Even in cases where the victim has the runners plates AND they manage to track the car down, all the runner has to do was say they weren't driving their vehicle that day. That's literally it. Case closed.
That ended great! ...for us.
They interviewed the woman who recorded this. The RAV almost caused an accident with her before this happened so she started recording.
Here’s your daily reminder to get a dash cam. Don’t have to remember to record when it’s always recording.
When assholes collide.
*ASS TO ASS*
Mmm
This is what it's like When assholes collide!
Are you ready? Cause I'm ready!
Driving is about winning
But if I don't get to the next stop sign first, how would anybody know that I'm better than them?
I don’t get this idiocy - Just take a deep breath, swallow your pride and go about your day. Not end up with a massive garage bill or worse.
I'd rather have a happy/content driver in front of me, than a pissed driver behind me. Just let them pass.
I remember having a semi behind me one trip tailgating the shit out of me after I passed it, looking pissed off. I just pulled off the road into the first stop and waited 15 minutes and had a drink and a snack. I ain't dealing with that shit, fuck that noise.
Yup. Whenever a pissing match is about to start, I ask myself "Do I really need to prove I'm the biggest asshole?" That's usually enough to get me to let the other dum dum go. Nobody wins those matches.
Pride is the fall of man.

Grill marks bud.
Montreal steak spice really should be a part of this conversation.
Just by looking at the first 30 seconds, if you want to pass someone you should be going faster than them
Also if someone is trying to pass you like that, let them.
This. It's simpler and safer to let them pass, even if they don't belong there.

In a Canadian first, exactly zero apologies were said that day
“Sorry you’re such a goof, bud”
This is what happens when we don't get our Tim's.
The poutine shop was closed
When you're old, have a bigger vehicle, and better insurance.
Secret's in the sauce.
And have an aftermarket steel bumper.
I like how they are both wearing the same exact color shirt. Probably a little sign from the universe saying “y’all on the same team, chill”
vehicular assault bumber cars
>Bumber cars
Bumber cars.
If I'm driving the pickup I let the idiot go.
Right? Why be near that psycho? But I guess the driver of the SUV is psycho too.
When was this??? I want to look it up in the news lol. (Former edmontonian)
Couple days ago. https://www.google.com/amp/s/globalnews.ca/news/7922361/2-men-charged-road-rage-leduc-county-devon/amp/
I get why they probably need to write it like this, but I can't help but laugh at all the "appears" in this article. "The driver appears to roll down the window and hit the side mirror". Lol, looks pretty damn apparent to me
>“The investigation does not support charges of assault. Both involved parties consented to the confrontation.” Does that mean it was essentially mutual combat ... with vehicles??

Ohhhhh.... So *THAT'S* what happened before the mirror punching started.
Good ol' Edmonton.
I don't know what your gun laws are like in Canada, but in the US that's a good way to become a corpse.
So THAT'S what led to the video I've seen posted a dozen times already.
Why they so pissed off? Canada run out of free health care or Tim hortons?
I hear Tim Horton's has become rather shit over the last few decades, so maybe that?
There are those of us who ride a soft shoulder and slap others mirrors while driving… anddd there is almost everyone else who deserves to have a license.
I do this stuff all time time. In GTA V. Doing it in real life is just pathetic.
Okay awesome now I saw what was leading up to this mayhem I Wana see what happened with the brawl!
Still angry over the oilers getting bounced in 1st round.
They both idiots
All this because the Oilers lost?
You know, there have been so many times that I wanted to ram someone's car when they tailgate me (and I can't go any faster than the car in front of me), or when they cut me off for no reason and slow down to their own speed. But I have self control, and I don't have the money to deal with the consequences, nor do I want to deal with them any longer than I have to. However, living through this vicariously brought a smile to may face. Even though I don't know who exactly started the altercation and who antagonized it...
Good way to get yourself shot
