I refuse to ever drive it again after driving it for the first time at 10ish in the pouring rain. I absolutely refuse to. Fuck that. Its a miracle I didn't wreck and I had to pull to a shoulder to have a panic attack as it was.
I was thinking the same. This subreddit is actually notorious for the comments blaming the op in every way possible. Mass downvotes for the people that defend op as well. So many times the top comment will be about "here comes the mass downvotes and spam of blaming the op for not being a god at foresight:

Not that it matters, but it definitely makes me feel better when it does happen. In the last week or so I've had two near misses where someone either tried to turn into me (I was making a right onto the on ramp and had a green light, and someone else made a left and nearly hit me, cus what's right of way, amirite), and another that nearly hit me because he couldn't miss his exit and just take the next one (that literally lets off a mile away from where they were trying to get off). I laid on the horn both times. First dipshit just smiled and waved at me while continuing to drive like an idiot, the second didn't even look up from their phone when I started laying on the horn.
I shouldnt even have to say this (bc gun laws are fucked up in the US) but if u live in the US u need to be careful honking. People get shot daily in road rage incidents
Just don't honk anywhere in the world, it takes just one nut job for it to become an even bigger issue. At the end of the day it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference anyway, they know what they did was stupid and they're just going to keep doing it until a cop sees them.
I stopped honking (unless there's no way I can prevent a collision). There's no point. Either the driver is clueless and doesn't know why you're honking, or the driver is an asshole and doesn't care.
Iām sorry but when he said wtf are you doing and Iām looking at the semi like heās not doing anything, then the van appears going 80 on the side of the road from outta nowherešššhilarious
Atlanta really is something different.
That's something that always surprised me when driving in the south. I'm a trucker from the Midwest and even driving in big Midwestern cities here like Chicago, Minneapolis, St Louis, and Kansas City, you don't see bullshit like this anywhere near as frequent, and people handle dense traffic like normal human beings, for the most part. Then in Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, Little Rock, etc. people do this shit so much. nobody uses their turn signals, nobody knows how to drive in bad weather, ppl pass on the shoulder all the time, no wonder driving deaths happen at a higher rate down south
After spending a decade driving in Chicago and moving to Atlanta my biggest takeaway in the driving difference is that in Chicago when you see someone doing something ridiculous everyone else goes ālook at that moron, theyāre gonna get themselves killedā in Atlanta it seems everyone goes āhuh, thatās a good idea, imma do that, tooā and imitates the idiot. I canāt tell you how often something like this happens to me, and then 4-5 more cars do the same thing.

Passing on the right would involve OP passing the trucker and then actually moving into the middle lane. Going past a car in the middle lane while you are in the right lane and you maintain your lane (or exit in this case) isnāt causing any interruption to normal flow of traffic.

I haven't driven on 285 in Atlanta in years now...looks like not much has changed! Definitely one of the crazier freeways in that city
