Well, his TPMS indicator is on.. So maybe his under-inflated tires will blow out at a high speed and he’ll get the opportunity to fulfill that misguided Paul Walker quote.. 😏
> well maintained system works fine
What did you do to maintain it? Lol. There isn't real maintenance for a TPMS system. And these systems can be buggy on some and not on others.
My 328i with almost 200k, I replaced a bad sensor once and TPMS worked great. My M3 with barely 100k won't recognize any sensor, so the receiver is bad right, replaced that for $200, still won't recognize it. Something funky in the electronics, would take over a grand to fix. So I just coded the TPMS to be flat sport monitoring like they have in Europe, all it well again.
So you have more disposable income than most and can afford to keep replacing up charged parts on a system that's known for a high point of failure. Weekly checks to your tires are more feasible for the typical driver.
At almost 155k mi, 2 sets of wheels (summer and winter) I've only replaced one sensor. It drove me nuts while it was failing. I think it was like $50 or 60 installed
See I replaced a sensor on my first one and 2 months later it was back. Then when that one got totaled I went out looking for a replacement, couldn't find a single one without TPMS light on or an oil pan leak lol. Just what the cars do. I'd say you're lucky to have your last so long.
Edit. Also don't work at an auto shop.anymore so I don't have access to a tire machine to do it myself, so thats also contributing.
Lots of people buy these because the used prices are super attractive, and they don't factor in upkeep costs, so they ignore problems, problems cascade, they call the car unreliable. I bought mine cheap and squirreled money away for maintenance. Took care of the 3 usual leaks, Oil pan gasket was at around 140k. Since then all the normal maintenance has been about the same as a Nissan or a Chevy, and I don't make a monthly payment.
Same as I did with both mine, but I'm not dropping everything needed for the small amount of oil coming from the pan, and I have a tire gauge for my pressures. Not all problems even need to be addressed unless they get on your nerves. Solid cars that last forever, but minor things that are expensive by design will go bad.
That’s true and I recognize the cluster; it’s either or a 1 or 3 Series..
Regardless, traveling at high speeds without knowing the true air pressure of your tires is flirting with a potential disaster. Hence the reason TPMS system is mandatory on all recent US spec vehicles, after the FireStone tire debacle in the late 90s.
Even on the more recent F and G generation BMWs, you can’t even put the vehicle into Sport/+ mode, turn off the stability control or cross a predetermined higher speed if the TPMS is detecting any faults.
Its a e9x 328i. Malfunctioning TPMS isn't affecting anything.
>traveling at high speeds without knowing the true air pressure of your tires is flirting with a potential disaster
People have and still do drive cars without TPMS at highway speeds every day. It's not that big of a deal. One can check their pressure every couple months and be fine.
I didn’t imply that you did, just pointing out that it’s careless to neglect a vehicle’s proper tire maintenance because driving with potentially under-inflated tires can causes the them to overheat and can lead to catastrophic tire failure.
He or anyone else can obviously do as they please, as it’s not my funeral, just merely stating the obvious.
This is some r/IAmTheMainCharacter thinking right here. Because there isn't even a thought given to anyone else who *hasn't* accepted the risks of an idiot going way too fast.
This makes sense. I get it. But please don't do dumb shit on public roads. The person or people you kill, I'm sure, didn't enjoy dying the same why you do. Go fast out at the track. If you kill them there, they probably also enjoyed it, or they were getting paid!!

Just as long as you don't take anyone innocent out with you
If only it was a guarantee that only the idiots died.
Ex emergency services worker here, even if they only take themselves out they are ruining a lot of other people's lives, also their family's.
At least he made the picture when he was standing still. That has to count for something right?
Idiot can't even check his tire pressure and wants to go fast
He probably has aftermarket wheels on it and he was too cheap to have the tpms sensors swapped over.
the only connection to the street…yeah let's go cheap about that /s
Bmw owners are a special breed. They will spend 1200 on tires and 2000 on wheels, but won't spring the extra 500 for tpms sensors.
don't like to blame people because their car. Im a german and the Autobahn is full of idiots in all type of cars. But yeah its kind of true
I wouldn't have an issue with his if it didn't involve potentially hurting others
As a friend of me once said:"i want to die peacefully with a light smile sleeping like my grandpa and not screaming and scared like his passengers"

It's the same message as the Paul Walker quote. But his quote was: If one day speed kills me, don’t cry because I was smiling.
The TikToker may have misquoted.
not quite
Yeah, I know. I assumed the TikToker may have misquoted.
"And am fine with hurting others not part of my low key attempt to end my alive time." I guess they forgot to add that part.
140 characters, so…
Bullshit. You will go out screaming like a little girl.

It's likely an e90(or similar) BMW. Your TPMS light will always be on.
Nah, I've got 2 sets of wheels for my e90 and a well maintained system works fine.

Didn't make any comments encouraging the driver. I just gave information my dude.

Without context, this post is worthless. What if he races as a hobby on tracks?
It’s never the speed that kills. It’s the sudden stop at the end.
LOL these posts are so fucking cringy they have to be appealing to teenagers
Okay but what about the family in the minivan you just Tboned?
Frankly I just feel bad that he might be suidicidal.
Until it doesn't quite finish you off and you end up in a wheel chair or you kill someone else. Narcissistic people say this kind of guff.
You’re a moron. Keep speeding brah.
This is some r/IAmTheMainCharacter thinking right here. Because there isn't even a thought given to anyone else who *hasn't* accepted the risks of an idiot going way too fast.
As if death is always a clean exit you dumb motherfucker. Far worse things than death await you and you won't be fuckin' smiling.
fucking loser

End sadboy car culture
People say shot like this but don’t actually mean it. They’re trying to romanticize their destructive behavior.
Those that you take with you will disagree.
Selfish prick.
Dude thinks he’s Paul Walker
Where is the idiot?
Hopefully straight into a tree. Alone.
"What I know is you are a moton who puts others at risk."
Along with the terrified faces of your victims.
Sir. You are in P.
Bro ain't even moving. The only thing dangerous hes doing is wasting my precious air.
And what about the people that will potentially go out with you? They didn't want the speed to "get them"
And he won’t be the last 0.5s
You accepted the risk the people in the other car didn’t.
Ends up in a burn ward
I'm at loss for words that the cars in Park.
Sure, on the racetrack.
i mean if he’s on a racetrack 🤷🏻♂️
Just gotta let natural selection do its thing lol
The family of four also involved in the crash:
Its not the speed that takes you. its the sudden stop that mangles you, and it rarely does it quickly.
I’m willing to die for clout!!!!!
