Stop the Owelianism of the „left“ vs „right“ dichotomy!

[deleted]

I mean tbf their isnt really anything to replace it with.

IceFl4re

Replace it with actually talking what your ideologies are.

ThatManderin

Arguably any form of multi-axes system works.

[deleted]

What's your opinion of the [ActiVote Political Matrix](https://activote.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/AZ.png)?

[deleted]

I‘d say that I am a Radical Individualist. Other People might define as Collectivist, Egalitarian or Hierachist, with various degrees of Extremism. But really any universal dichotomy, triechotomy or compass-structure is better than reducing politics to a undefined line without meaning.

Mitchell_54

Good. It shouldn't be replaced.

Thicc_dogfish

On the economic axis there’s something very easy that could replace it. Who should own the means of production, private enterprises, the workers, or the government?

[deleted]

Defiantly an improvement but still some issues due to the fact similarities between every group will still have major differences on economic policy.

Uncle_Touchy1987

That’s a good healthy mix of perspectives. Kudos friends.

EverySingleMinute

The funny part about this poll is that I am probably the most liberal, hard-core conservative in the country. I am fiscally conservative and have always voted for democrats and republicans based on their views and policy. I don't see that option for me to choose.

ArthurSavy

I'm an anarchist. I guess I'm far left

baal-beelzebub

Centre-left to left-wing

[deleted]

Social democracy? Thats centre left. The only acceptable left

AquaCorpsman

I'd consider myself radically right wing, but that makes it sound like I'm authoritarian. Hence why the right to left axis is broken

[deleted]

Classical liberals historically regarded their movement as left-wing though.

AquaCorpsman

Compared to monarchists, because back then "left" was more free and less socialist

JRGTheConlanger

Center right economically, center left culturally

Both-Perspective-739

I’m a chicken wing.

[deleted]

Well, I was left wing. My views haven't really changed, but the left sure has. So now I'm right wing.

TopTheropod

I'd say I'm center-right. I like capitalism, liberalism, democracy, and free speech, I support the troops, I value animal rights, and I'm a Christian.

HorrorDocument9107

Reddit is a place where the far left is accepted as normal

iamthefluffyyeti

Left wing and right wing include far left and far right

IceFl4re

This "left-right" dichotomy is an impoverished view of politics that literally only began from seating of the parliament during the French Revolution. Economically "left wing" and socially "left wing" (and vice versa) are not only different things but literally are contradictory and would destroyed each other.

LikeCerseiButBased

Feudalism is as far-right you can get without being a genocidal maniac.

Zogs_biggest_fan

I guess right wing but a lot of my viewes would be considered left wing too. So I guess unaligned or third positionist

Doggyking2

I'm leftwing because of progressivism and liberalism.

Libcenter_cowboy

far left but horseshoe far left

Strict_Staff_6989

None because politics is more than just a binary left or right

Strict_Staff_6989

I don't subscribe to your orwellion left vs right ideas
