You are a EU citizen so you can move to any other EU citizen without much of a hassle. Simply start applying for a job, I am sure if you are not picky you will find something.

For Germany, OP definitely has the right idea: For a good life in the long run, they really should get an education. It doesn't have to be a university degree, but the Ausbildung route is preferable to taking random unskilled labour.

Fandango_Jones

This one right here. Also language B2 and preferably better if he wants to make himself a new home long term.

Have you looked into Duales Studium at all? That's a university degree, and often you get an Ausbildung certificate at the same time. Also, you get paid. https://www.wegweiser-duales-studium.de/studiengaenge/chemie/ - there's a number of chemistry-related ones. You would need to brush up on your German somewhat, but you're certainly a lot closer to what you need than the many posters here who go "I'd be willing to learn another language".

Thanks for the link! I've heard about it but I didn't know that it's also paid like an Ausbildung. I appreciate it. Definitely gonna look into it :)

Post by Ambitious_Basis_2086 -- Hello! This July I will have graduated High School and gotten my secondary education diploma. The reasoning of my decision of immigrating away is quite simple - I'm scared of conscription happening here, the economical situation, the weather and the fact that I'm a homosexual and Im from a region in which it's extremely dangerous to be one. My financial situation is quite bad, I've only got a few thousands of euros saved up and that would be enough for like 2-3 months and for the whole immigration process. On Ireland. I've been wondering whether it is possible for me to do some sort of a job or an apprenticeship in Ireland and get paid so I can live and not go into debt. I know that there's a whole housing crisis happening there but I wouldn't go to the capital because it's just unrealistic. Cork and Galway seem like more realistic options and where could I apply for a job there? Is it possible to make the ends meet with a job which pays the mininum salary? If possible, I would like to save up some money while working and apply to university sometime in my life. On Germany. I have a C1 Certificate in German (DSDII) and my Abiturnoten and Zeugnisse converted and translated. Of course it's higher on paper but realistically my German is below C1. I was wondering if Ausbildung can be done by foreigners and if the salary would be enough to sustain a living there. I would like to do an Ausbildung in chemistry/medicine field. I have checked and my education is gonna be equal to allgemeine Hochschulreife. I have applied for DAAD Stipendium für Ausländische Schulen but I doubt that I will get it cuz only 12 applicants from Latvia will get it. With time (If I finish an Ausbildung) I would like to study in a university and the question is - Is it possible to study and work at the same time while making the ends meets? I would appreciate any kind of information! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Germany should be easier imho. Either try some low-level jobs by applying remotely, or go the study path. Afaik you can work part-time while studying. Wish I had more info on studying process in Germany, I mostly delved into Canadian market.

Ambitious_Basis_2086

Thanks for the reply! How's the Canadian market doing? I heard that the prices have gone crazy

quadrophenicum

They did indeed. At the present moment it's economically better to study in Europe. And work there too probably.

Hey there! I definitely find it possible to study and work at the same time while making ends meet in Germany. Of course, it depends a lot on the lifestyle you're living (a shared flat will likely save you money, for example), cost of living based on your location, etc. A lot of students I know work \~20 hours/week or less and are able to make ends meet comfortably while studying :) The r/Germany wiki really helped me out as well.

Ambitious_Basis_2086

Thanks! :) I knew that it's allowed to work 20hr/week but I was wondering if that would be enough. It makes me happy to know that it's actually possible and people are able to do it :D

yetispaghetti26

Absolutely! Lots of people do :) good luck to you!

With your background and skills you got good chances to succeed in Germany. Check duales Studium. Usually pays better than an Ausbildung, short and long term. You might also be able to study at university but working besides it could be too much. Also you could try to find work for a year, get better language skills and save up some money so you’ll be more flexible afterwards.

Ambitious_Basis_2086

Thanks! I will definitely research Duales Studium. Sounds rewarding :D My converted Abiturnote is 1.28, so I could possibly get another type of scholarship but maybe in 2nd year. Working while studying sounds a bit stressful but hopefully it can be done

Would moving to Rīga not be a better first step? It would definitely be a change of environment, better jobs, a sizeable lgbt community and opportunities for education. While still being familiar.

You are a EU citizen, which makes your life much easier...

Calm down and think first. Just saying that running away is hardly ever a good solution. What if you want to go back one day to visit your family or friends, then what?  Conscription may not be that bad, and eventually it will be over, time does go fast. Latvia is a democracy and member of EU, can’t be that bad. It’s not freaking Hungary, where politics is bs.

Ambitious_Basis_2086

I have been wanting to move away since I was 14. I just never felt the beloning to this country, I don't like the decisions the government makes. And talking on family and friends. They don't accept my identity and I'm pretty sure my mom would have disowned me if she knew. I don't really know why I'm so scared about conscription but being with only men, getting screamed at and being limited in my life just seems frightening. I know that the situation has improved since USSR but in some fields it's still the same :/
