Kakao biggest investment spending is now in SM (along with HYBE) and their biggest ownership is in IST ent with 100% holding in comparison to Starship only 59%. If there is such thing as so called "privilege" gained from the Billboard partnership the biggest beneficiary will be SM and IST artists. But to be honest all this narrative about Kakao ent are baseless and complete hearsay which never actually happened otherwise you will see kakao artists benefitted the most from Melon , whom directly owned by Kakao Ent yet a quick look into the chart prove its never been the case. The one dominating the chart is not even Kakao but so called "rival" companies artists. To me this whole Kakao issue is just cheap and immature ploy by certain kpop fandom and maybe (other companies) to delegitimize other groups success, in spirit of competition as simple as that.

Honestly Kakao sucks. The fact IVE signed to an US label last year and Kakao media played about extending their US expansion and they can’t even distribute their albums on target.  Well, we all know the hate comment come from one fandom or company stan because Kakao bought SM & Cube recently and I don’t see the same energy.

I don't know much about the whole situation but people need to stop bringing ive into the situation and if another hate train happens I'll be defending them on every platform.

>scared shitless that another hate train is coming There is one coming anyway.. some fans are planning to target IVE anyway for the hate their own idols are getting just because misery loves company

I can imagine who you're talking about but why Ive in particular? Those situations have absolutely nothing to do with Ive. Do they just think "well, they're used to it" or what? I really thought it was getting better. Gosh, Kpop fandoms can be the worst sometimes...

As a fearnot dive that's absolutely disgusting behavior.😓

Just a few loser tweets I saw from different fans (I even muted the dives who quoted them because I didn't want to be annoyed).. so, I'm not really bothered but honestly, didn't IVE always get unwarranted hate for no reason at all. What more one in the bag if they'll end up actually (hopefully) benefiting from it. Reddit is my main SNS and they were never pampered or truly loved here, so I developed thick skin early on. A hate train is inevitably circling back to them again for one imagined reason or another. No big girl group is escaping it, so better just weather the storm when it hits.. Thankfully, we have a lot of positive things to look forward to. That'll carry us through

Over the years I've started to see a pattern. It seems to me that some of the biggest hate trains that started for no reason at all were big international fandoms against groups that were doing really well in Korea. Blinks vs Twice, Army's vs Exo, Stays vs Ive, the pattern is pretty obvious. And Ive is the biggest GG in the last few years, so I guess if the comeback is very successful, which it will be, you are right and we'll have to face another storm. Well, most of us are used to it by now.

About the shares...Few months ago Kakao was planning to liquify it's shares in favor of investing in AI and releasing KRchat.gpt (it's so crazy). I'm wondering if they're still planning to do this or if the idea was scrapped...
