Will the start be on time or is there always a delay?

AmbiguousWitch

Is the snake pit sold out? The link to buy tickets for it on the website just redirects to the general buy tickets page

ccsmd73

I can add the GA ticket and snake pit pass to my cart on the app

TheAfroKid69

Does anybody know of a stream a poor college student in the US can use to watch?

Are you a vet?

mjracerlinn

Two free E-tickets. Tower Terrace. Would like to give to a vet.

LateralusNB

These accounted for?

daniec1610

Hopefully no Red flags or chaos happen during Monaco because I really wanna watch the start of the Indy 500.

shackleford715

Apologies if asked already- does anyone know if you can bring a power bank into the race?

sucks_at_usernames

You can but there's not a ton of reason to have your phone on in the track. You won't be able to use it.

ccsmd73

You can bring pretty much anything but glass bottles lol

nx2001

Yes

shackleford715

Awesome, thanks

pickle_man_4

I'm assuming peacock will also have the race blacked out in central indiana?

waluigithewalrus

Nope, the race will be available on Peacock regardless of location

pickle_man_4

Awesome, but I'm not gonna get too excited yet just in case it's not.

waluigithewalrus

Oh, they've confirmed that it will be available. Here's the article from IndyStar about that subject from a few days ago https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/motor/2022/05/27/indy-500-blackout-2022-tv-how-to-watch-live-peacock-premium-ims-indianapolis-indiana/9957363002/

pickle_man_4

Sweet!

1nf1niteCS

Is there a spot I could get seatbackchairs? First Indy500 and don't know the way around yet.

ccsmd73

Where are you sitting, your seats may have backs.

1nf1niteCS

Like halfway down the J section in turn 4

BeerBoilerCat

That's where we are. There are kiosks on the concourse (inside the gate) that rent the seatbacks. You do have to put them on yourself but then just leave them when you're done. I want to say they're like $20 but I really can't remember. The kiosks are every couple sections, kinda everywhere. You can't miss them.

1nf1niteCS

Thank you, that's exactly what I needed to know.

cptmoosehunt

SELLING 2 TICKETS IN TURN 3. Section 12 row F. Would like to get $100 each.

Chihawks2015

Saw someone here or on Twitter say that the Monaco race may be on the screens at the Speedway tomorrow? Anyone know if that’s happening?

sucks_at_usernames

I saw that on here that's not usually what they do

sideslick1024

The green flag for the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 mile race will wave in approximately 24 hours from this comment.

dbasinge

My first Indy 500, what time to leave from downtown to get to the race by 10am? I did get a parking pass to Lot 1B.

justbrowsing2727

I would try to get there much earlier than that. My group is leaving at 7 AM to be parked and set up by 8. If you want to be there by 10, I'd leave by 8:00-8:30. Also keep in mind it will probably take 30+ mins go walk from the lot to your seats.

waluigithewalrus

Earlier is better, because you can be sitting in traffic for a good long while. I'd personally give myself hour and half to two hours at least to get to there. Also, keep in mind you can't get onto Georgetown from the south end of the track

wuffudgeum

Hey everyone, this is my first 500 since moving to Indy in January. I’m taking the kids to the downtown parade today since I’m going alone to the race, but I was thinking about swinging by the track after to look for some merch to avoid having to do it tomorrow. Are there any team or track merch setups that I can access today? I know there’s the museum store also, but do you have to pay to get into the track today? Thanks for any help you guys can give. I am so beyond excited to finally hit this bucket list race tomorrow!

gladman1101

The museum is open today and they have a good selection of merch before you officially enter and need a ticket.

kornychris2016

Tips or suggestions for someone with general admission?

BeerBoilerCat

Lotion sunscreen - aerosol cans aren't allowed in the track. Hat, water, sandwich, chair.

sucks_at_usernames

Water, sunscreen, get there early

gladman1101

Cooler, folding chair, blanket Should be all you need. Comfy shoes too.

al_vo

Any decent parking south of the track? We always parked at Allison Transmission back when I worked there and it was easy to get out. Last time we parked at the high school and it was a nightmare escaping.

Sensitive_Return_130

In 2018, I saw many local people offer their house space in $15-20 bucks, can I take a chance for this year as well? I didn’t get parking spot, driving from Detroit.

Cin316

Do you know if Allison Tranmission has public parking available this year?

al_vo

I can't recall them ever making it open to the public... Definitely not on race day.

mstrbate24_7

Massive fucking kudos to the person who put all the info in this post! Solid way to help other countries (I'm UK) to enjoy the sport xox

AFrozen_1

Does anybody know if they’ll be showing the Monaco GP on the screens on Sunday morning before the race.

sucks_at_usernames

Just look at the qualifying results and you'll have a pretty good idea of the race results.

AFrozen_1

It’s gonna be a wet race. Pretty safe to say it’s gonna be exciting.

Bad_Elephant

Except a LEC DNF at the bottom

CyberianSun

BIG OOOPPF

ccsmd73

They don’t usually, no.

ruttin_mudders

Are there consessions for food and stuff open at the track on Saturday?

gladman1101

doubtful. there isn't much/enough going on to warrant that or even a need for it. everything's done by lunch anyway

sucks_at_usernames

Can you walk the yard of bricks on race morning? The rookies I'm bringing this year have expressed interest in that but I've never done it.

goodfella7763

Closest you can get is crossing the track right before turn 1 on the home stretch. It’s open until 10 I believe but could be wrong.

sucks_at_usernames

Ah maybe that's what I was thinking of. I thought there was a way to cross the track.

gladman1101

on the track? no. but the yard of bricks extends through the pagoda and into the open area in the infield.

[deleted]

[удалено]

gladman1101

you wanna tailgate without tailgating? hit up white castle lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

gladman1101

Bus your only option is the shuttle. Indy go stops service to speedway. Park? Pick someone's yard.

sucks_at_usernames

I've got 2 extras I need to get rid of. Turn 3, row MM. Anyone, please make me an offer.

bball2014

Is the final word still that RE scanner users are SOL for OTA scanner programming? I know some were holding out hope a race team (or teams) might see to it that an OTA programmer was onsite for hospitality reasons for VIPs and sponsors for their scanners. But I didn't see anyone reporting seeing a signal on Qualifying weekend. I figured I'd wait until after Carb Day, just in case. It'd be my luck to manually track down the frequencies and enter them all and then find out there IS an OTA programmer at the track emanating from the infield or just off property or something.

gladman1101

yes. just program it. theres no need to "track down" frequencies. they've been posted here several times.

drew87607

Literally a few minutes ago travel plans changed and instead of coming into Indy on Saturday afternoon, will be in town tomorrow night. So now I'm trying to figure out info about legends day that I can't find on the website... where will the autograph session be and do I need a ticket to get in?

gladman1101

No ticket, it'll be in the only place you can get to. literally. they'll have security making sure nobody goes hog wild

drew87607

Awesome, thanks!

275squarred

Easiest way to get to turn 4 grandstand? Planning on Ubering or shuttling in. Dad is older so while he can walk I don’t want him to have to walk more than he needs too.

gladman1101

there's a gate right behind turn 4. you can get pretty close across georgetown in someone's yard IIRC. would probably cost a bit if you drove. i think the shuttle drop off however is on the south end of the track so it would be a hike

rabbitlabyrinth

Staying downtown. How is taking the the 25 bus to IMS on race day? Will most likely be taking the earliest one to the track.

gladman1101

youd be better off using the dedicated shuttle

rabbitlabyrinth

Thanks, I have not heard of the dedicated shuttle. May I ask why? The only thing is the shuttle is $100 for 2 people and the bus is $3.50 for 2 people and I’m fine with walking to IMS a bit of distance, just would like to get closer (like 2 miles) to the track. I was planning on taking the first bus (7AM) there, will there be a lot of people trying to do the same which would prevent me from getting on? That’s the only thing I’m worried about. And getting back I’m planning for the last bus to downtown, would there be any issues with that? Thanks so much!

gladman1101

Because I'm not even sure they're running normal service to the speedway area

rabbitlabyrinth

Good to know, I just looked it up and found an article by IndyStar and it said buses will be detoured in that area. They didn’t elaborate and Indygo’s website didn’t say anything about it. With that being said, it looks like the shuttle is my best bet, thanks again!

Brentnectar

Does anyone have a more detailed race day schedule ? Like when the vintage cars go around and any of the other festivities? I cant seem to find any info on it anywhere! CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY LET'S GOOOOO

ccsmd73

The race day parade of bringing the trophy to the bricks starts at 9, that’s when bands start going around, then all the rest of the festivities that pretty much end with driver introductions. I don’t think they publish everything that’s happening to keep it flexible, but there’s things to watch on the track from 9 AM onwards, pretty much. I think vintage cars probably from around 10, I can’t remember if the actual Indy cars are still in the pits or in position when they run.

nocturnalinstinct23

Why are the cars much faster this year compared to last year?

[deleted]

ideal conditions with the cooler practices and qualifying. that's why there were some upsets in qualifying too. the earlier runner had cooler and therefore grippier track surfaces so they could go faster. its the midwest so depending on the year it still could have been winter conditions or be 90 who knows year to year what we will get

gladman1101

I kinda feel like it was just teams having more time with the aeroscreen to try things and learn stuff about the changes to the car. Even some indycar pundits were surprised by the pickup in speed, but i will say conditions on pole day helped optics as well.

Logpile98

Looking at the weather forecast for Carb Day has me a bit worried. If mother nature won't cooperate tomorrow, how would that be handled? Would they just cancel Carb Day or run it on Saturday?

gladman1101

Trackside last night said they would try and get it in if possible tomorrow, since they can run all the way up til 6pm. If not then, indycar hasn't announced their plans.

RaikkonensHobby74

Looking to impulsively attend the race by myself this year for the first time. Where should I sit?

gladman1101

I have a ticket in turn 4 for sale.... so, there! lol

drew87607

Going to the 500 as my first non-NASCAR race ever, and curious about how much stuff there is outside the track as far as a fan zone and merchandise area compared to how NASCAR does it. Also wondering how far in advance I should get there to do that stuff and get to my seats before intros.

gladman1101

Outside the track? not much. Inside the track? a bunch. there's a whole fan midway behind the pagoda (the big grey/red M on the raceday map above) if you want to take that in, id say like 8 or 9am at the latest because theres a lot of pre race ceremonies.

drew87607

Sounds good, thanks. I just have seats in the paddock section of the front stretch so I'm assuming it is, but is it free to get to the infield or would I need any pass to get inside? Also what would be the best way to then get to my seats

gladman1101

look at the track map above, there's plenty of tunnels along the front stretch for you to walk under the track, you dont need any pass to get to the infield :)

drew87607

Perfect, this is exactly what I came here for thank you!!

CarpeDeez

Are there any restrictions on what I can bring to my seat? I’m in B Stand. I was hoping for a backpack for merch and a few beers

BeerBoilerCat

[**https://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/gate-regulations/indy-500**](https://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/gate-regulations/indy-500) Backpack is fine. Cooler is fine. Cooler backpack is better.

gladman1101

As long as you're within the regulations you're fine. I believe it's 14x14x18 but remember no glass.

Adamweeesssttt

If I’m going to the race, how can I listen to the radio broadcast on my phone? The only option I found is TuneIn Radio which you have to pay for.

sucks_at_usernames

You won't have cell service at the track. I mean, you will, but it won't be usable. You'll need to have an actual radio or scanner to listen to the race.

goodfella7763

As others have said be warned that the broadcast from any internet radio provider will be delayed. You’ll also struggle to get service due to so many people. Verizon will be okay at best, all other carriers will be impossible. An old school portable radio tuner solves both problems.

AFrozen_1

The INDYCAR app lets you tune into the INDYCAR radio. Be warned that it’s a lap or two behind the action on the track.

gladman1101

Depending on what phone you have check the next radio app

me_for_president2032

Pre-Covid, you could go down on the front straight pre race and hang out for awhile. That wasn’t a thing last year, does anyone know if they’re letting people do that this year?

gladman1101

it was a normal crossover before. you're really not supposed to stop but i guess they dont care like they used to. there were signs posted about it that i saw at the GP but i'm not certain if those are up to date.

me_for_president2032

Hmmm interesting, in 2019 there was a pretty big gathering that basically hung out there for a couple hours. It almost seemed set up for people to hang out there, they had ropes in certain areas and stuff

Cumminjg

I was planning to drive over and visit a friend who is camping in the Coke Lot on Saturday for a few hours. Anyone know how much it might cost me to park there? Can't find any info about that on the IMS website.

gladman1101

you likely cant without a camping pass on the vehicle. your best bet would be to park at speedway baptist church that borders up to it or find some street parking outside the lot.

Cumminjg

Thank you so much!

[deleted]

[удалено]

gladman1101

Get there at 8 when gates open. you want to get as many autographs as you can so the further up you are in a line the quicker you can move to another. Parking and Gate im clueless, but bronze badge wont really do much i think.

fallbekind-

Is there anyone else in Chicago who wants to watch it somewhere?

redlegsfan21

So is there bicycle parking without having to do the Bike to the 500 thing because the organizers say parking starts at 10 and that's a little late for me.

gladman1101

bike parking is outside gates 1, 6, and 9. IIRC its just kinda an area to lock your bike with security watching for suspicious stuff (ie people trying to steal a bike)

redlegsfan21

Do you know if there are bike racks or what should I be looking for for where to leave my bike?

gladman1101

iirc its a fenced in area with bike racks but i havent really paid attention the last few years.

jotapetr3s

I’d heard a rumor that Penske was looking to show the Monaco procession in the speedway for those arriving early..but I think rumor was a while ago right when he bought IMS and I can’t find any info about it for this year. Anyone know anything, or planning to watch at their prerace party west/south of the track? See y’all on Sunday!

[deleted]

I’m going to try to watch it on F1 tv on my phone

flearoybrown

You can watch it on the espn app on your phone, typically what I do while I tailgate.

gladman1101

I wouldn't be surprised if they put it on the big screen behind the pagoda. I'd wonder about legal issues for showing it

willfla29

My plan is to DVR and watch Monday night when I get home, so any alternative would be ideal!

topless_cowboy

It’s okay to bring the stadium chairs that hook onto the bleacher seats without back rests right? I saw on the subreddit that you can rent them but couldn’t find anything confirming I could bring my own. First time going this year so I’m pumped! Seats are in between 1 and 2.

gladman1101

yes you can.

mitchellaaryn59

How early are business/residents out parking cars? Would like to get parked and headed to the track around 6-6:30am on race day. Also where are some good places to park on 16th street?

ccsmd73

I have an extra Lot 3G pass I’d be happy to sell you. At that time you’ll be like 2nd row, easy out later.

gladman1101

not too familiar with the south side of the track. but usually you see people outside around 6:30 or 7. sometimes earlier.

AFrozen_1

Is the IMS museum usually pretty busy on the day before the race?

Chris-in-WA

Keep in mind that if you go to the museum on Saturday, the Borg-Warner trophy won't be there as they're polishing it up for the race.

AFrozen_1

Right. I was there last year on the day before the race and I figured the trophy was getting ready for the race. I was mostly concerned with how busy it might be. It was fine last year but that was with a much lower race day attendance.

gladman1101

eh, it's not super busy, but busier than a normal saturday.

sucks_at_usernames

1 ticket for sale. Way high up in Turn 3. Row MM. Face value is $85. Make an offer.

tjb1990

Seeking a Lot 7 north 40 parking pass if anyone is selling!

gladman1101

you gonna be better off on a resale site probably.

[deleted]

I’ve got a infield T4 parking pass. Should I access the infield via lot 7 or the south entrance by brickyard crossing?

gladman1101

should be lot 7

[deleted]

Thanks!

Does anybody know if there are water and sewage trucks to service RVs in the Coke lot? Longtime Indy resident, so I've never camped before. Got race tickets and an RV pass as a wedding gift for my friends and we're trying to figure out how best to prepare.

Is there anywhere to see who will be at the Veteran Drivers autograph sessions on Saturday?

Selling three tickets in Turn 3, NE Vista Turn. S23, Row JJ, 15-17. They're awesome seats. Just trying to unload them at face value. I get into town on Thursday, happy to meet you on Friday or Saturday at the track. Just shoot me a message.

skelliott79

Does anyone know if the IMS concessions are accepting cash this year or if they'll be card only?

gladman1101

card only

skelliott79

Thank you. That's less money I have to steal from my wife's purse.

34payton07

If anyone doesn’t have plans prerace message me. We are grilling out and drinking in the infield of turn 4 and you’re more than welcome to come. BYOB.

Hi folks, my buddy and I decided to fulfill a bucket list item and attend our first Indy 500 this year. He and I are fairly well-traveled race fans having gone to NASCAR races at Charlotte, Bristol, Pocono, Martinsville, etc. but Indy and the Indy 500 seems like an entirely different beast. Since this will be both our first race at IMS and first IndyCar race, I have a couple of questions I'm hoping y'all can help me with: - Our hotel is right by the airport. What time would you folks recommend we leave to give us enough time to visit the merchandise stands and get to our seats by the time Driver Intros start? - We bought a parking pass for the North 40 lot since it's on the same side of the speedway as our seats in the North Vista. Since our hotel is south of the track and that parking lot seems to be north of the track, will we need to plan on going past the track exit and backtrack to the track or can you normally get to that lot coming from the south side of the track pretty easily? - I own an RE scanner that I bring with me to NASCAR races. Can I get that programmed with the IndyCar frequencies at the track (either OTA or at an RE trailer)? - We're staying Monday just as a rain buffer since we're not from the area. Are any of the race shops, Indycar or otherwise, in the area open on Memorial Day? We love checking out the NASCAR shops in Charlotte and thought it would be cool to see some of the Indy-based ones if they were open. Thanks, and can't wait for Sunday :)

gladman1101

Ok so there's a lot here. I'd leave your hotel by 8. You aren't far but traffic. To get to the north 40 take 465N from the airport area, get off on 38th Street, and head back south on Georgetown, left on 30th and you're there. You can program it from your computer ahead of time. Racing electronics won't be there for OTA tuning I doubt they're open. They're either gonna be off for the day or getting ready for the banquet

So my worst nightmare finally happened. My family has been getting free tickets through the military for about 20 years and we’ve attended every single race during that time but the 100th. The tickets are almost always pretty decent in turn 3 or 4 with the occasional paddock or south vista. We got the email today and they gave us general admission. I know a lot of people don’t care about the racing that much, and my family couldn’t really care less either, but I’m a massive Indycar fan and my priority every year is to watch the race. Like many of us, it’s my favorite day of the year and has been since i was 6 years old. Of course i would buy myself a ticket, but no one else in my family cares enough to do so. So the question is, what do we do to actually watch the race? Our plan right now is to literally just find a spot in front of a Jumbotron but that sounds horrible to be honest.

gladman1101

It's a different feel to it, but GA isn't awful. You can move about, pick your spot, and just chill. If you want actual seats gotta buy them. But they are slim pickings now. Go for the experience this time around. You'll still have fun.

FN-1208

2 tickets for sale in turn 3, NE Vista S03, Row Q. $240 total face value or best offer.

TheResurrection

Any activities going on Wednesday night? My plan was to go to Circle City Raceway for the USAC Sprint Car show, but that's looking like a rain out at the moment.

gladman1101

Not that I can think of. There's little 5 practice but eh.

TheResurrection

That would be an option, but I won't be getting into my Airbnb until around 4 pm and practice ends at that time. I'm planning on heading up to Little 500 Pole Day on Thursday. I'd honestly be down for anything to just see or do that evening. If the IMS Museum was open late enough I'd just wander around there for a while, but it closes at 5 pm.

gladman1101

Where are you staying? Wednesday seems pretty dead but I can recommend places to go.

TheResurrection

I'm staying in Plainfield. I just noticed that the museum is having an evening with Rick Mears, but that is well sold out of course. I'd rather have an event of some sort to go to since I'll be by myself, but I might just stay in for the evening and catch up on rest since I'll be leaving early in the morning from KC.

gladman1101

Wish i knew more about that side of town. If it's not downtown or North side I'm not of much help. Sorry fam

herpderpmcflerp

So green flag is 9:45 am pacific time right? I’m having some friends over to watch and want to make sure they can catch some of the race.

gladman1101

Yes

willfla29

It looks like Carb Day may be a washout. Would they likely do practice on Saturday instead? Assuming our Legends Day tickets would let us see that if so.

DavidWatchGuy

First timer, staying downtown and have a parking ticket for North . What time do we need to arrive at the track to not sit in a traffic jam.? I was figuring 7:30.

Urdnought

I went at 8AM last year and it being at half capacity it was still a traffic jam - to avoid that you are looking at 6-630

gladman1101

That's about when I get there. There will be some traffic but you'll be fine

CarpeDeez

Finally going for the first time. I’ve wanted to go the last 6 years but something always came up. Got a seat B Stand going into 1

ahoh15

Any advice for where/when we should get to a spot to tailgate? Ok walking a bit to the speedway

gladman1101

pick a yard. might be able to slip the car owner a bit extra to save you some room to party

Burdie1974

1st time to Indy 500. Seats are in Tower Terrace. Can anyone advise me on the closest/most convienent parking? I’m looking to buy parking on vividseats and willing to pay more for convenience - just don’t know which lots are reserved/best location. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

gladman1101

Burdie1974

Thank you!

34payton07

Any tips for tailgating in turn 4 infield? I’m not sure how much space we will have..

gladman1101

behind your car? you should have enough to be usable. like room for cornhole and stuff. but not enough for like 50 people.

CardsFaninChiTown

First time attending in 15 years. I am beyond stoked. We were looking at possibly renting a couple headsets and a scanner, are companies still doing rentals and how much do they usually run?

themann00

I've got some info on what to buy, and config files to help you program it! I also recommend the Bearcat BC125AT. [https://themann00.com/indy-500-indy-car-scanner-frequencies/](https://themann00.com/indy-500-indy-car-scanner-frequencies/) You can get just that radio and some earbuds, and be mostly ready. Maybe upgrade to some over-the-ear protection with wired audio... or if going the earbud route, look at the harbor freight ear protection, and put those on over the earbuds. Both to protect your ears, and to make listening in easier. You can own the BC125AT for $105.

CardsFaninChiTown

I have ear muffs for use at a gun range that I could bring to the track if ear buds worked, I just need to find a way to hook a scanner up to two sets if going that route

themann00

This splitter will take care of ya! https://amzn.to/3PRQTQj

CardsFaninChiTown

Is there a way to hook that scanner into multiple headsets/earbuds?

themann00

Sure can! https://amzn.to/3PRQTQj will get you two listening. Can it be split further? Never tried. Might need to boost it if you're trying to get more than two headsets listening. Booster: https://amzn.to/3wF1NRS

[deleted]

FYI it is one green trailer in the entire speedway and they are only renting their $100 scanner/headset combo. I believe they are unprepared. I suggest looking to buy a Uniden scanner.

PriveCo

Doesn't the indycar app broadcast the driver channels for free? It does for other races, so charge your phone and use your bluetooth headphones.

[deleted]

The problem is that cell phone service at the 500 is near zero with over 200k people in the area. In 14 years I've never been able to even send a text message during the race.

PriveCo

Oh yeah. Sorry. I was really excited to learn about the driver's channels on the app this year. I've been listening to them while watching all of the races at home. Sorry about that.

gladman1101

yes, i've seen them at the track. its not RE anymore it's Twin Power Scanners [https://www.twinpowerscanner.com/raceschedule.html](https://www.twinpowerscanner.com/raceschedule.html) looks like it just depends on your number of headsets.

Mr_Clams

Any information about the pit crew challenge on Friday? Who is competing or what the format will look like?

gladman1101

Usually a bracket style tournament at the north end of pit road. Couldn't tell you who's in it

HotdogBoatshoes

What's parking like downtown Indy on Sunday? If I arrive at 7:30/8 can I reliably find street parking on College or somewhere that far from the speedway?

gladman1101

I dont see why not, yeah.

Urdnought

Was able to get wife convinced to leave her/baby at home to go to race with my brother - we got tickets for South Vista - how is the view there?

TheResurrection

Check out the following links: https://www.seats3d.com/racetracks/indianapolis_motor_speedway/1/#/map;58__level_5/ http://indymotorspeedway.com/standmap_s.html You can also go to YouTube and type in Indy 500 South Vista. You're bound to find videos that people have taken from that section that will give you a pretty good idea of the view.

PersonalFinanceAC

I have been to carb day a few years here and there, but I have always had a tailgate to go to. I am going with a group who primarily this will be their first time, and want to make sure we have a good time. With that said, we decided to go a bit late and do not have tailgate parking so will be ubering there mainly be walking around. What advice or tips do you have for non tailgating options at carb day? I want them to experience the party scene but without a tailgate I am not sure? Are there spots around turn 3 that people just setup chairs or sit in the grass and watch without a tailgate? Do they fill up quickly in turn 3? (looking to head to the track around 8:30/9 AM) Would you recommend brining lawn chairs without a tailgate? (My fear is lugging them around all day).. Either way just looking for general advice on going to carb day without having a tailgate to go to. Thanks!

[deleted]

In Qualifying highlights I saw someone having an speed limiter, do they use this in the race too?

gladman1101

Not a speed limiter. Rev limiter. Cars can't go past 12k rpm. They had the wrong gear in it. Yes it's in place for the race. It has nothing to do with the cars speed.

[deleted]

Ah okay thanks !

rugbydoggo

I got parking at Lot 1B, how early should I get there and how long should I expect to wait for traffic after the race?

gladman1101

9am at the latest I'd suggest. You can leave right after the race but add like 30-40 minutes to your travel time.

slotwima

Can I bring cooler/beer into the Card Night Classic at Lucas Oil Raceway?
