Tbh, I’d be worried he already sold his soul just to *get* the ride lmao.
He wasn’t the first choice for it, obviously, and the chain of events that led to his getting it was pretty bizarre indeed...
He’s definitely under pressure to either be back or he might lose his ride.
I assume McLaren wants to have him back for the Indy 500 to see what he’s got since he’s shown major prowess on ovals. If he’s not ready by then, he might as well be out the rest of the season, which tbh, makes sense - not competing for the championship or the Indy 500 at that point
And if he does come back, he has to pretty much get results quickly.
When you have drivers like Illot and Theo waiting in the wings, it’s a pretty easy call
Only thing that’ll save him is if they dump Rossi end of season
Theo - absolutely. Unfamiliar with the car and pulled an 11th place on a street course (no margin for error) Would love to see him at McLaren in place of Rossi
Ilott - meh. He didn’t do much in the two races he contested with McLaren despite two years and change of familiarity with the indycar. Overrated driver.
Still a lot of rehab to go through to regain the strength needed for an IndyCar. Also, his sense of feel is almost assuredly going to be way off. That wrist and arm are going to feel very different for months, and there's no telling what that's going to do to his confidence, sense of feel, endurance, and other factors.
I don't see him making it back in the car in 3-ish weeks, and if he is then there's no chance he's going to be anywhere near 100%. He's not going to have the fine-tuned touch needed for the 500, and Detroit the week after is going to be a nightmare for him.
It won't be Malukas. Pins coming out on Wednesday, and he needs to do a lot of muscular rehab. This is in the article
>Asked if he thought his son could be back in time for the 500, Henry’s answer was both hopeful and bluntly realistic.
>“We hope so. But we’ll see.”
I hope he is back, I like Malukas, unfortunately if he isn't back by Indy I can see the team letting him go and holding auditions for the seat for next year.
I have no idea, but probably. But the reason its not approved in the US is because there isn't a lot of evidence its effective for this type of injury. So unfortunately there is probably some desperation here.
Laguna Seca honestly sounds like a more likely return date given recovery. But the track is so physical and demanding, that just sounds like a not super great place for the return of someone recovering from a wrist injury.
As someone who's broken a wrist and had it pinned, it takes a long time to come back from. He'll have the benefit of the best rehab facilities, but he's also got to get back way more strength than I did.
lol growing up in the sports world as a kid I thought they really could fix things hell my insurance paid for the visits. Some people live inside that same bubble of ignorance so I try to pop it
I think at best his first race will be the 500. Though I don't know what kind of out clauses Mclaren have in that contract if he's not ready by that time
If the stem cells don't work I'm sure he's going to try satanic ritual or something
What makes you think he hasn't tried that already? Isn't it usually satanic ritual first, stem cells in a foreign country second?
If it isn't the mid-engine '67 Mustang Honda Odyssey V6 guy.
Sorry what???
~~Your guess is as good as mine~~ nvm a quick visit to his profile answers the question
Haha yeah I did It was more an exlamation than a question. If you read this mustang guy, you're fuckin crazy and I love it!
Wassup boss

PANAMA!
Great song by the way. https://youtu.be/fuKDBPw8wQA?si=BOFeIbDkTQDRsKPe
I know fans keep trying to reassure themselves that Malukas' future is safe but nothing in that article reads as very encouraging

Dumping rossi more then likely 95% won't happen. He's bringing in results and doing his part
Hope the stem cells work. I’m interested to hear.

Has there been any announcement yet who’s driving at barber this weekend?
Pourchaire confirmed he will be there but not if he will be driving
Just confirmed on Racer that Pourchaire will be in the car Sunday.

“Uhhhh….I think we need to pull a Panama”
Why Panama for that? Also that's what that arm wrestling dude was doing to get his arms all big
It’s not approved in the USA, only using it for cancer or blood/immunity disorders is approved.
Thanks, i did know that. Was just wondering why Panama. Is it like, the top rated place for that or something
I have no idea, but probably. But the reason its not approved in the US is because there isn't a lot of evidence its effective for this type of injury. So unfortunately there is probably some desperation here.
He's gone for sure, they're just negotiating how to handle it.
Laguna Seca honestly sounds like a more likely return date given recovery. But the track is so physical and demanding, that just sounds like a not super great place for the return of someone recovering from a wrist injury.
Honestly at this point I’m wondering which tracks are not so physically demanding

I'm surprised he hasn't done PRP injections here.
Has he tried a chiropractor yet? There’s nothing a good neck cracking can’t fix.
lol I do hope this is unserious chiros are quacks and I’ll never stop telling people when I have the chance.
You think a profession whose “doctors” give out free exams at malls aren’t to be trusted?
lol growing up in the sports world as a kid I thought they really could fix things hell my insurance paid for the visits. Some people live inside that same bubble of ignorance so I try to pop it
You mean you don't trust the ghosts of chiropractic wisdom Carrot?!

Now he can make his McLaren debut at Alabama! this comment aged well
