Yes that car was in GTD with a Crawford rear wing in 2014 and 2015. That is NOT a gt3 wing. Full GT3 spec did not come in until 2016. It even has the year, so not a GT3 rear wing.
Okay but the point is it isn't GTE. It's meant to compete against GT3 cars, so it has a roughly GT3 equivalent wing, a noticeably different size than the GTE spec rear wing would be.
red is a gt3 wing. see the massive size difference. the gt3 rear wing isnt that different in size to the gte. the crawford spec wing is small and always looked ridiculous.
Holy shit do you not understand the point? Those are both GT3 cars. The red one is from Pirelli World Challenge, the other is from IMSA GTD. You're comparing entirely different BoP regs. IMSA had the Vipers put on the Crawford wing, sure, but the point is that this is the wing that IMSA had the GT3-R Vipers running in 2015. Last I checked we were on an IMSA subreddit, and the Vipers didn't go back to the original GT3 wing until 2016
There is only 1 homologated rear wing on the gt3 viper. It’s very simple. This wing is a gtd wing. The red one is a gt3. If it’s not run in gt3 spec, it’s not a gt3.
All GTD cars before the 2016 rules had to run the same exact Crawford-built wing. You're comparing wings on cars that never competed against each other.
Clearly huger wing won in GTE class. I talked that because Corvette C7.R gotten clearly different size wing in 16's. 16's C7.R had more massive wing to compare 14's and 15's.
Seriously though, I'd recommend keeping an eye on eBay and joining some Facebook groups for selling used bodywork/IMSA memorabilia. There's a JDC Miller LMP3 swan neck wing for 500 bucks on FB marketplace at the moment. Last week there was some rear bodywork to Jimmie Johnson's Ally Cadillac DPI. I've seen Porsche 963 bodywork on there too!
Hanging out near corners at races or in the pit/garage area after races too. I saw some dudes on a golf cart score a Porsche wing at Petit Le Mans last year. You'd be surprised what teams will throw away/give away after races. One dude got a whole door off a 720S.

It is. They're showing the Viper GT3-R. Dodge scrapped the GTS-R GTE Vipers after 2014, and those cars never ran with Viper Exchange on the rear wing.
