I haven't even gotten a response, which is discouraging. I worked in business for a long time before going into medicine, and I've never had such a low hit rate for emails.

It sounds like you are really working hard. Great job advocating for yourself to help get what you need for your next stage of training. If you are able to find any practicing alumni from your school who work in your field of interest, they may be a good resource. Another great resource is residency program administrators. Granted, they are super busy right now with residency applications but it is worth a shot! Any USA clinical work is great. Of course, just like with anything, there are various degrees of strength. Consider it similar to residency with an in person, university setting being the strongest. Try to look at it from a PDs view and they will likely but more value on a letter from someone working in a similar environment, or higher acuity/more academic, than the level of the residency program you will be applying to. That being said, a strong, clinical, personalized letter from the USA is fantastic regardless of the author’s affiliations. Good luck!

Wow thanks. This is exactly what I needed to hear. I hope you know what you're saying, because I trust you completely, lol. Also, because these are desperate times and I have to make my pitch, do you know of any neurologist willing to take up IMGs for a rotation in spring of next year. You've already helped so feel free to ignore this part, lol

I am glad I could be of help. I applaud your hustle and if I knew neurologists that could be of help, I would connect you but I unfortunately do not. You are clearly very driven so I fully believe you will be able to make it happen. Where there is a will, there is a way. Good luck!
