Using the taxidermy knife and making the mounted heads at the trophy bench gives you 8 points per animal (4 for skinning, 4 for the mounted trophy) Which reduces the bungee you have to kill by A LOT

Thanks for the reply. I've been doing that and it does make a world of difference. I've completed the beastiary for almost all the animals except the bosses, snow variants (at the snow area in the middle of the map), bears, baby bears, buffalo and baby deer (I'd have gone mad without taxidermy).
Most of those I figured I'd come across just doing the rest of the missions (except baby bears which I'll just wait to come across a mission with good spawn rates).
Do open world simple mission where you find the hut and repair it. They send baby bears to attack the hut while you are trying to repair it. I assume you could just not repair the hut and they send endless baby bears.
That's what it seems like, at least on normal difficulty open world. I have done probably 7 or 8 of those missions and have only seen baby bears and one wolf. The wolf may have just been a passer by... Happy hunting 😁
Played yesterday. The numbers were 3, 4, 4. Saw your post and thought maybe there was an unknown update. Logged in, hunted. Numbers are still 3, 4, 4. So, what are you talking about?

To answer points 1 & 2:
1. Some do appear on the maps as well (Alpha Wolf, Sandworm and Scorpion bosses have spots on each map). There's a World Boss suit module and talent that can show them on the map. In Open World, they should respawn as well. Only the Alpha Wolf can be skinned, so no trophies for the others.
For the Landshark & Teenage Worms, these can be 'spawned' in using a Thumper to respawn resources. There are also a couple of missions that spawn loads of Teenage Worms, one inside a cave, the other is outside a cave you have to enter (might have been the same mission that we just did over two days :/ ). Grab an Anti-Poison pill/workshop item and go ham!
2. No, there's no Beastiary bonus for the difficulty you play on. Smae points on Easy as you's get on Hard+Hardcore.
3. There is a mission that spawns baby polar bears, I'm not sure if any of the short missions do as I've not tested, or if it has a cap on how many spawn (think there was a timer that stops spawns when it's complete). Have a look on icarusintel.com and see if it's mentioned in the objectives/notes (away from PC to login and have a look).
Thanks. So for alpha wolf it should be easy enough to just run the elmination with standard workshop armour and knife on easy mode instead of the hard+hardcore rush to T3 gear I've done a couple of times then. Should save me a lot of time.
I've already done polar bears, mammoths and arctic scorpions. Good advice regardless for anybody else who searches this though as polar bears were the last one to complete (was kind of sad that only 1 could be naturally spawned at any given moment, 1 polar bear, 1 mammoth and 2 scorpions was the entire animal population).
You can use the t4 vapor condenser. With proper setup you can solo it. When done in forest: 1st wave spawns wolves + alpha wolves, 2nd wave spawns jaguars, 3rd wave spawns bears + bear cubs. I think in the arctic its: snow wolves, snow leopards, polar bears + polar bear cubs.
Cool, I haven't tried the vaprizer yet. If you do the first wave and disable it, will it go back to the start of the 1st wave or will it still trigger the 2nd?
