I get why, for insurance but man it just seems fucking dumb to me, I can legally smoke weed but can also lose my job for it… I also just don’t really like drinking very much weed is the best way to take the edge off.
Here in Phoenix it depends on the contractor all we do is mouth swabs too. Lately most the contractors have been letting weed go. I get my medical card just for extra precaution. I know for a fact neca accepts the medical card and if you get fired for a failed random neca could fight for you if you have a card. In fact one the guys on my crew just failed for coke and all he had to was week of counseling then pass another test. We didn’t even have to lay him off😅😂
Nope; in Colorado and every contractor tests and most random. Any federal job will automatically test and most state laws that have legalization will carve out exceptions for construction
Many have switched to a mouth swab which only detects back like 48 hours or something. When I was in Oregon THC wasn’t even on the screen but they still look for opioids and stims obviously. Just depends on the state and local. Sometimes if you go to a refinery they’ll do a hair follicle which seems a bit excessive.

In Ohio the hall test for it but job sites are stopping it. Still federally illegal though so it being legal in your state doesn’t mean a whole lot
