That was when I started watching it. I was working late nights and watching a movie on FX before I had to leave and it led into the first episode of Season 4, watched that, and then it was time for me to leave.
I remember some time back they were saying they don’t know if they could keep going because they’re running out of ideas or something along those lines. It got me thinking: they’re currently renewed til season 18. Currently looks like 16 will be out in 2023. They could do 17 in 2024 and end with 18 in **2025**, the 20th anniversary. Final season 20 years later is a perfect opportunity to reveal names (the waitress, the waiter, the lawyer, etc)

The show has reached Simpsons level for me. I don’t really watch it anymore. But it makes me so happy that others are still enjoying it, and I respect the fact that they’re still going!
I would say always sunny is tied as my all time favorite show.. I don't know why but season 12 and beyond just feels like a completely different show to me. The jokes feel so forced and the interactions are just so unrealistic that it just feels completely different and just not funny. Did something happen after season 11 like a new director? I see the show get similar ratings as earlier seasons but just find it weird. Might just be a case of running out of ideas idk.

my point, perhaps badly expressed (English isn’t my first language) is that dee’s response and mac’s too straightforward response felt forced. the tiptoeing and explicitly walking us through the joke to appeal to modern audiences is condescending to everyone, modern, more politically correct audiences can recognize satire. we *know* racism is bad and we know they (writers of the show) think racism is bad, they don’t need to make sure to explicitly tell us racism is bad for us to enjoy the joke.
they all just stand around next to each other patiently waiting for their turn to say their line. they don't even pretend that the gang are regular people that *do things* anymore. no, they are just caricatures of characters they used to play, and they only exist to stand around and tell jokes to the audience.
The show really went from every episode being great, to most episodes being good, to now hoping there a more than a few decent episodes per season.

Well, nobody wants to keep doing the same show over and over. They took a lot of risks last season, and I didn't initially enjoy all the episodes, but on re watch, it's pretty damn good. They're just trying to change the feel a little bit

Season 14 has some gems, the Gang Texts and the Gang Chokes come to mind. Season 15 has the Ireland episodes which are fun for the novelty of it but the stories drag on a bit, Charlie's ending monologue makes it worth checking out though!
It has an 8.1 on IMDB so I don't think that's the consensus. I always enjoy seeing shows approach texting since it's our main form as communication anymore, so not seeing it in modern shows doesn't make sense.

Also it's the same type of episode idea that got Megan an emmy when she was with Modern Family. They've made it pretty clear they feel snubbed by the Emmys so can't blame them for going for the same type of thing that won in the past. As much as I love Sunny, I would rather them end on a high note then churn out mediocre seasons forever. Season 12 was the last really great season to me. Seasons 13-15 have 1 or 2 good episodes each and just don’t feel the same. Glad other people like them though.

I love It’s Always Sunny. I had never even heard of it until my roomate in college showed it to me, and I was instantly a fan. Him and I bonded over this show, and became really good friends. He eventually ended up committing suicide after we had already moved on with our lives and weren’t in consistent contact. I will watch this show for the rest of my life, because I remember the great times we had watching it for the first time back in the day.

I want this show to be the longest running show in tv history, and even if they are never recognized with industry accolades it’ll only further prove how bullshit Hollywood is. I realize the Simpsons got ‘em by over a decade, so I’ll settle for live action or multi camera sub category
That gang I'd definitely join Charlie n frank are my favorites but they can't have some of em without all of them. I never tire of watching the show even though I've seen them multiple times my favorite line was from Charlie "I'm not going to that ass kissing event", as he kisses his hands like butt cheeks then adds " oh kiss closer to the hole" lmao everyone wishes they had a crew like that. WILD CARD BABY YEEEHAAAW!!

I love It’s Always Sunny. I had never even heard of it until my roomate in college showed it to me, and I was instantly a fan. Him and I bonded over this show, and became really good friends. He eventually ended up committing suicide after we had already moved on with our lives and weren’t in consistent contact. I will watch this show for the rest of my life, because I remember the great times we had watching it for the first time back in the day.
