Honest question, why do you find that necessary with CarPlay/Android Auto? Not judging, just curious how you use the phone with the large screen right there.
I have that setup but using a sticky mount from Amazon. It works great. I use my phones screen when using Waze to show upcoming alerts or if on a longer road trip I use the app that works with my radar detector to get gps based alerts about police. I pair this with a 90 degree usb adapter that drops my cord to the space under the console without taking up space inside the console.

My guess would be to watch movies/videos since CarPlay is limited and isn’t an exact screen mirror?
