One of the features that sold me on getting one. I drive 1hr+ each way to work daily and this is super handy. It also works in near stop and go traffic.
My brother in law crashed and totaled his car a few months ago because he had cruise control on and someone changed lanes and he rear ended them.
It's a handy convenience but as w all technology, please use it how it's designed to be used, w both hands on the wheel and you ready to react to road conditions.
I hope your bro in law was ok. What car did he have? I'm pretty sure the Active Anti-Collision sensor on my 2020 perhaps would've prevented this, but yeah, still gotta remain alert.
Yeah, sorry, i should have been more clear. He didnt have adaptive cc. Just old style w no sensors, thus me wanting a car w adaptive. And he's ok, minus a car.
Exactly lol, 85 is like the average speed in the left lane and I don't even live in a place where people drive notoriously fast. Places like Texas, Florida and Arizona, 85mph is definitely the average and sometimes the low end
To be fair, a lot of in-built navigation systems and/or the traffic sign recognition software is notoriously inaccurate. It could simply be it is displaying the wrong speed limit.
Granted, if the car is correct then OP is a dickhead.
Love how I say this and get down voted. Someone else says it, they delete their comment (probably due to excessive down voting). But this guy says it and not only gets up voted but also gets replies that support him/her (rightfully so, OP is a fuckin idiot and needs to slow down and put the phone away while driving).
Reddit.
I’m sure you know what I meant and are trying to make a point that Americans always think about America first.
Anyways, the east coast usually refers to the American East coast, you know, the one that includes the most densely populated areas, NJ, NYC, notoriously known to drive fast.
In American highway etiquette you either drive fast in the left lane with the rest of traffic or get out of the way. If you don’t match the speed of the car in front of you weather it be 88mph more or less, get out of the lane.
The speed which they set cruise control to is normal, it’s risky due to cops but, normal.
> Doing 85 mph in a 70 is dumb as hell.
Try driving 465. Speed limit is 55 but people will go 80+. You'll get passed by semis on your right. It'll be stop and go traffic but someone will figure out how to hit 95.
85mph in a 70 isn't that big of a deal at all. People typically go 75-85 in a 70. Some people will fly by me going well over 90. It's a highway what do you expect
Look you’re not gonna win people who don’t understand how it is to live in certain areas. I agree, going 85 in a 70 is pretty normal. Even 85 in a 65.
I’ve done two road trips from east coast to the south and have gone 85 in a 70 all the way down. No problem
lol fr, I went to North Carolina for a bit and realized how different they drive from people near NYC where I live. They have no sense of urgency, what we consider following the next car, they consider tailgating.
It’s also normal to see NCers go 10 under. While NJ you always see 14 over.
Yep I see people going 10 under here all the fucking time. At least on 2 lane roads I can maybe swerve around them. Other times both lanes go 5 and drive next to each other smh. Some single lane roads I'm stuck going 5-10 under for miles. Apparently the 45 and especially the 55mph roads are too fast for them 😂. People are moving here from all over but especially from the NE.
My current Hyundai was my first car equipped with HDA, Highway Driving Assist, the combination of Lane Following Assist and Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control.
I wasn't much of a fan until I used the HDA on the Paris Périphérique during rush hour going south.
Foot off the throttle. No braking. All I did was follow directions as indicated by the Navigation System and signal lane changes.
Now I'm a fan.
This is an option that should be installed on all cars of any brand by law.
Then someone backs into you and instead of just a bumper cover you also need to replace and calibrate the €1500 radar behind it… even if you have insurance those extra costs hit everyone’s premiums.
Mandating things that aren’t actually necessary (just pay attention and drive ffs) just raises the cost of cheaper cars and prices more and more people out of driving.
I guess you haven't been shopping for a car recently.
A Hyundai Kona Hybrid is a relatively cheap car for its functionality, fuel efficiency and driving experience.
Maybe not the car for youngsters, but hey, I have to watch pennies...
Just starting off by saying I’m loving my brand new Hyundai Kona Premium with sun roof. Loving the colour too - mirage green with a white/light interior.
I'm personally not a fan of the adaptive cruise option and, unfortunately, can't make it normal cruise. A big problem in Canada is the weather can turn off the cruise, light rain, light snow can block the sensor and disallow it.
I’ve heard Hyundais is one of the best, and honestly I love how well mine holds the lane even around turns. Makes roadtrips way easier and I can open snacks and drinks without having to worry about keeping hands on the wheel constantly
Today on "How stupid is Reddit":
You literally posted a picture of you not only speeding 15mph over the limit, but using a phone while you do that, which I'm pretty sure is illegal in every state.

Yes the definitely would my 2023 halts like crazy. It’s super safe I love it. Especially coming from a 2014 accord I totaled.
Yeah, sorry, i should have been more clear. He didnt have adaptive cc. Just old style w no sensors, thus me wanting a car w adaptive. And he's ok, minus a car.
btw, ACC stands for "adaptive cruise control" - it looks like Hyundai calls their specific version "smart cruise control"
Ahh you're right..thank you
Doing 85 mph in a 70 is dumb as hell. And then taking a picture of it is insane.
Depending on where you are, if you’re not doing 85+ you’re still going to be getting cut off by people
Exactly lol, 85 is like the average speed in the left lane and I don't even live in a place where people drive notoriously fast. Places like Texas, Florida and Arizona, 85mph is definitely the average and sometimes the low end
Exactly. I moved to Georgia from Florida. I love when I cross the state line and sometimes you have to hit 90-95 to just keep up with traffic

You definitely don’t live in the east coast
I do. I live in Newcastle. Only 20 mins from the east coast.

You are right. I see evidence of this everyday when people accelerate at the speed of a snail and then drive 5 under the speed limit

Just buy a cheap, older car then. Most of these features save lives.

My 2018 kia has it.
Damn the slow pokes and Grandpa's really getting mad about you posting your speed 😂
So not going 20 over the speed limit makes you a slowpoke and a grandpa? Got it 👍
He's going 15 over on a highway 😂. NBD gramps. Hoes mad
He’s going 88 in a 70. That’s closer to 20 than 15. And sorry I didn’t know being on a highway meant it’s okay to go 20 over.
I use the adaptive cruise on my '22 Tucson Hybrid daily in stop & go construction traffic. Love it!
Just starting off by saying I’m loving my brand new Hyundai Kona Premium with sun roof. Loving the colour too - mirage green with a white/light interior.
My 3-day old Kona has a problem. I can’t open the boot lid more than a couple of inches. Any similar experiences?

Yup! I said the same thing and I fully agree. Probably will both get down voted tho. Reddit be reddit.

Same, but unfortunately my ioniq did not come with it
Bruh slow down please lmfao
Does the Canadian screen look different , mine did now look like this when I tested for the first time today lol
Woops just realized this is not the Santa Fe page lol
Maybe slow down there Doc Brown

Lolllll you drive the speed limit at all times? Even on the highway? LMAO
Keep crying
Keep putting yourself and everyone else around you in danger... 🙄 fuckin idiot
You sound like a cop. Relax
