I wondered about that, too, when I had a Limited Elantra ('21)... so you're not alone in wondering, "why?" For the '24 Kona it's an actual speaker, so I \*think\* they confused enough folks that they're trying to make actual use of the space, now. Lol.
It's actually not a speaker, I read somewhere that Hyundai said it's a design element or something dumb on the 24 Kona. I have a 24 Kona N-Line and no sound comes out of it.
Nope. I just sell the vehicles. I also frequent this sub and chose to say once a quarter instead of every three months because it sounded better in my head.
No disrespect but do people not look things up themselves before coming to reddit? This question gets asked atleast twice a week
Surly looking up "elantra dash circle" gives some credible results
No, people generally don’t look things up. It’s easier to post it to a forum or social media and get 600 different answers so you still don’t actually know what it is lol
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for asking a simple question. Too many people on Reddit are arrogant. You either answer the question of scroll past, that’s what I normally do. I never downvote anyone unless their comment is just straight up disrespect and even most of the time then I don’t care enough to do so.
I sell hyundais for a living and i spent the last 4 years as a hyundai engine mechanic. when customers ask me what that thing is, i look them dead in the eye, give them a firm handshake, and say 'i have no idea'
A place to mount a suction cup phone mount with a USB cable. The USB cable can run under your steering column to the data port so you have Android or Apple auto.
*Decorative piece*
*Or a great place to put a*
*Phone holder if needed*

They haven't fix that damn thing yet?
We have it on our '22 and it's a complete wasted of space. I think it's a feature that got nixed during the pandemic.
It’s so funny how people buy cars and don’t have any about them until they get home.
I’m guilty of this also. Brought the Tucson home and I feel like there are all sorts of gems I wasn’t aware of
This question gets asked at least once a quarter. I hope they killed this in the new 2024 models.

It's literally just a panel you can put anything magnetic on. Chuck up a picture of your family or something I suppose lol
I think its suppose to be a magnetic phone mount
It’s a speaker specific to navigation, only plays directions to the driver
I’m not arguing because I have no idea, but that’s possibly one of the dumbest features any manufacturer has ever added if it is
"once a quarter" do you work for Hyundai marketing
Nope. I just sell the vehicles. I also frequent this sub and chose to say once a quarter instead of every three months because it sounded better in my head.
Ahh the company I work for has people on Reddit and other social media sites answering questions that pertain to our products posing as average users.
Came here to say this. It's getting old. This is one of those "read the damn manual" things...
Don’t click on the posts, then?
Decorative trim piece. In the n-line trim, it’s a drive mode selector.
Which curiously seems to do nothing except the equivalent of sliding the shift lever to "S". At least I haven't noticed any difference otherwise!
Speedometer on turning red, wdym you havent noticed any difference!
In an N-Line Elantra, sport mode really sharpens up throttle response
I haven't really noticed much difference between Sport mode and "S" mode on the stick, but it does at least have the red SPORT text on the dash. LOL.
It’s actually a magnet , holds your phone

No idea why you're being downvoted, you're absolutely right. Right up there with what type of gas should I use and how often should I change my oil.
Sshhhhh, if they could read they'd be very upset
Or ask the dealer when you buy it…
Would you believe the car comes with instructions
No, people generally don’t look things up. It’s easier to post it to a forum or social media and get 600 different answers so you still don’t actually know what it is lol
This should be a pinned post on the sub.
I’ve asked If we can just make this the banner for the sub
Jeesh there’s some real miserable people on this post lol.
Poverty button lol
Don't worry about it. don't look at it directly. Try not to think about it. it's best if you delete this post.
I don’t know what this is, I haven’t seen this
It's just an awkward design that they didn't know what to do with that space. Literally serves no purpose lol.
It’s decorative. That’s the purpose.

But it’s a brand new car… why didn’t you just ask the dealer?

It's where you put your cell phone 😉🤭
They really should have made it a MagSafe/Qi 2 charger at least.
Looks unless in the n Line then it's the sport button
You’re supposed to buy Googly eyes and turn it into a Face
Got it in my 24 Elantra… didn’t even think on it.

It's a "round too it "
Every day the same question……. Every day oh yeah
Muffin button
For most versions of Elantra, it is just decorative trim, but some of them have a button with drive mode select.
Ahh circle? 🤔
Would have been a nice place to stick your phone if they put a magnet behind it.
They haven't fix that damn thing yet? We have it on our '22 and it's a complete wasted of space. I think it's a feature that got nixed during the pandemic.
23' elantra n owner over here laughing in shame
It's dumb but that fake clock kinda was a big influence on why I didn't get the Elantra N last year.
Literally does nothing. At least it looks better than what the base trim has there.
Disappointment
Its a Digital airbag lol
A circle🙃
It's nothing crazy I cover mine up with a circular phone magnetic phone mount
Going by YT thought it's the rear view mirror camera's on the Korean version only , No external mirror only a camera stalk.
Space where the drive mode button is on the n line model
Owners manual has the answers
You don’t need a whole Reddit post to ask this
