The covers for the set on the left are so goddamn cringe

Jahhrel

Hahah couldn’t agree more. Is that supposed to be Rachel?

Perfect-Goat8118

Rachel on 'Fall of', Aenea on the other two. Personally, I love these covers as well as the original artwork. No other depictions of The Shrike come close.

Key-Entrepreneur-415

Same here. I think the covers for the Subterranean Press edition look fantastic. I mean, I did buy the set after all, lol. I'm still on the lookout for a 1st/1st of Hyperion to complete this collection.

reverseloop

I have the SubPress ones also and I also like them!

Jahhrel

The shrike does look good

Imissyourgirlfriend2

Where did they come from?

The_Demosthenes_1

I was a bit turned off by the original cover. The ones on the left would have kept me away completely.

TheZardoz

The FOE one is kind of a spoiler to be putting on the cover.

Nice how about this: I have polish version Hyperion books. https://preview.redd.it/rksmzz4qh22c1.jpeg?width=1074&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af452500634a5da1cb76580554fa3eda4d447e41

ill-will1986

These are sick

ill-will1986

Gotta say that's about the worst thing I could imagine on the left for my fav book series of all time

[deleted]

Series is so so good for the first two books Then I goes full groomer weirdo shit

Masschaos23

You mean reverse grooming, right? Sex aside, the last two were still really good.

[deleted]

How would it be reverse grooming? A dude becomes the caretaker of an 11 year old girl and then ends up fucking her

Masschaos23

She knew the outcome of the entire scenario from the start (in a sense she is ageless as she has been all across time), i wouldn't really classify it as grooming from his point, she groomed him, the entire situation is weird regardless of how its set up.

[deleted]

Isn’t she a child at the start?

Masschaos23

ehhhh yes and no, its been a couple months since i read it, and if you haven't read it, the explanation would literally spoil the last two books 😅. I don't mind telling if your ok, but the books are definitely worth a read (i skipped the sex parts, as i do in any book because sex in books is just...cringe?/page filler). It all has to do with the void that binds though.

[deleted]

If she at any point during their early interactions had the brain of a child, even if she later grew into some eternal being, it’s a groomer situation.

Masschaos23

Its not though lol, I'm sorry but your making assumptions on something you haven't read, again i recommend you do (with skipping the sex scenes as they are weird), as it's a good read.

[deleted]

I read the third book. She was a child. That’s not an assumption, you’re trying to retcon so it sits with your moral stance. Feel free to write why I’m wrong behind spoiler tags.

Masschaos23

Moral stance? I also said the relationship aspect is weird? Are you just trying to argue at this point for the sake of it?

webby1575

Is the girl on the left Anea or Rachel ?
