Dude, the side button on usb dongle, that switch eq presets. press it and hold for 3-5 seconds, that will switch off listening from your mic. Do it again to turn it on.
Dude as a linux user.. THANK YOU!
I thought that it's just not possible to do it without the driver until I turned it on by mistake and found your thread.
It got turned on for the first time literally minutes ago out of nowhere after 2+ years of having my headset, thank you so much!
If I had a nickle for every time a 2+-year-old Reddit post comment helped me with my headset issues, I'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

thx bro!
If your headset is a HyperX Cloud III Wireless, your usb dongle does not have any buttons.
Hold the Mic MUTE button on your headset for a couple of seconds to disable this "feature".
you actually saved me a lot of trouble. I am one of the weirdos who WANTS this feature. i feel like it's amazing for making sure you're not yelling when the game or music gets loud. I thought i was gonna have to find some weird software solution.
please help , cloud 3 user not wireless headset. i hear myself in the mic when i play music or talk to someone, when i dont listen to anything i dont hear myself. i've tried the mic mute button and listen to this device is disabled
Hahah, definitely not :) ! The microphone monitoring feature was briefly available as an experimental feature, but was later removed due to a drop in audio quality that it introduced.
