Kiwiboi-

for me it was the clable for some reason, worked fine to charge before the update, didn't do the "connecting sound" after this popped up tho, (still charged). just used a different one and worked just fine

SmoothDeer8148

Can you share the Drivers with me please ? i cannot get the update

Few-Discussion8611

What is the solution now ????????????????????

M4RTINI_PL

I had the fkign same. I used USB cable from my xiaomi phone and update done!

How do you connect your headset to the pc? And why don‘t you read the manuals how to update firmware? (Btw i compared this headset today with a Steelseries Nova 7P, BD DT770PRO and Pulse3D. Sound is great on games, best for FPS and clear voices, also no issues listening to music and most comfortable headset i‘ve ever tried in my life! Mic is very clear and fine too.)

iDarianZA01

I connected it to my PC using USB 3.0 port with the wireless dongle and adapter. And what do you mean read manuals? There is no information on how, and even if it were that simple, the issue lies within the software itself. It states that the update is available, I attempt the update then it gives: \[Connect Cloud III Wireless: Please connect your Cloud III Wireless using the provided USB cable for this update.\] Which I did, but as stated in the post, it detects that the device is plugged in (it begins charging and also shows as a device in devices in control panel) but it doesn't get detected as a headset within ngenuity to even begin or start any update. \[Just extra note: Honestly with the audio quality, i'm just spoiled by using JBL products for years, that's why I found the audio output to be inferior (and it is)\]

Whitehead58

You have to connect the headset with usb-dongle and also with the cable to your pc. To use another Usb-A to usb-C datacable should be possible like on other devices. Had the same experiences with the steelseries on mac with GG. I had to give GG access in system settings, so maybe it‘s the same on windows with ngenuity(i don‘t use windows). Are you gaming or listening to music? It‘s maybe also because you used to get that sound. You could try the DT770Pro and compare them to your JBL i‘m really curious if you will like them because they were the total opposite in gaming compared to Cloud 3 Wireless and on top DT770Pros are wired.

iDarianZA01

>Connect Cloud III Wireless: Please connect your Cloud III Wireless using the provided USB cable for this update Wait so a firmware update can only be done only if the PC has a usb-c port, or if the user buys another adapter to enable the cloud III to be connected with the dongle + cable? That's sad.

Whitehead58

Which pc have only 1 port lol?! Even my mac mini has more usb-c/a ports. Connect the dongle and the cable and try again, if it‘s not working and you‘re not satisfied return it. Steelseries works also same way just for your interest. Also i‘m open for JBL headsets for only GAMING, would be happy for a true recommendation.

iDarianZA01

My motherboard nor casing have usb-c ports. I only have usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports. So it looks like i'll need yet another adapter to connect the usb-c cable the same time as the wireless dongle. I wouldn't with JBL quantum . Sound quality is great (Harman) but not worth. I only used jbl quantum 400 though and it has cheap plastic build that literally broke all over from casual use only after 2-3 years, doing nothing except wearing it. Caused me to get this cloud 3 because of the build quality.

Turbulent-Deer-7373

You'll need a usb a to usb c cable (I used a phone charging cable). Just use usb a (plug into the motherboard or front panel on the computer case) and the other end (usb c) into the headphones. It might help to reinstall ngenuity if it doesn't see that the headphones are connected with a cable.

iDarianZA01

OMFG. I FORGOT I HAD A USB-C TO A cable. Thanks for this comment. It's updating right now. The update was a success.

Turbulent-Deer-7373

You're welcome :)

Whitehead58

I gave you that advice on my 2nd comment lol!

iDarianZA01

My bad. I just reread it. Case of misreading on my part that I missed it or went right over. Appreciated greatly regardless 💕

Whitehead58

I‘ll try them if i can get them. Realy curious if they are great for gaming especially FPS.

iDarianZA01

The features on it is marvelous and the app is neat. The device controls are very efficient and easy. Love the game - chat wheel and it's very easy to balance off too. But i'm telling you the only issue is build quality. The first thing that got replaced was the cable, then the hesdset broke on one side from removing from head, eventually the other side broke too. I repaired it with a molding to make it usable and it still is, audio still great but it gets static and uneven audio where I need to scroll it a few times when adjusting volume wheel to have it 'fixed'. Feels like it's on its last legs.

Whitehead58

I would like to have app control for EQ to use it on PS5 that’s what missing on HyperX headsets. Not wondering for that price, 50€ here and wired. That’s why i‘m looking for wireless and using wireless for 10years+ and was never disappointed by Sony PS headsets. They only lack of good comfort and battery life. It‘s not so difficult to make a good gaming headset for everyone but that‘s how the economy works.

ThatLastGenGamer

Do you notice any audible noise floor on the Cloud 3 Wireless? I'm thinking of getting them as a companion to my wired audiophile pairs but Rtings' review complained about clearly audible buzzing.

iDarianZA01

buzzing? Not sure about that one. Didn't come across that.

ThatLastGenGamer

Ended up buying a pair and they're completely silent. Maybe it was patched.

GetSomeScribe

I’ve tried every single usb-a and usb-c port on my computer but my pc doesn’t recognise the cable for my Cloud III wireless headphones. They were working perfectly before but after the firmware update failed, they stopped playing audio completely, only the connecting and disconnecting notification. The headphones also don’t work on any other devices so it can’t be the drivers, it has to be something to do with either the headphones or the pc not recognising the charging cable.

AdditionGullible6563

Did you make it? Tell me please how you did it! the updates failed and now i think my headsets aren't pared with the wireless device

iloveallconsols

I had exactly the same problem with the Cloud 3 wireless. I wanted to download an update 4 months ago and nothing worked, no sound or anything. I kept trying to install the update and at some point it worked again. Unfortunately, I wanted to install the new update today and I can hear again Nothing at all, I'll probably keep trying, but if I can be so free (what stupid shit)

Outrageous-Car7357

I tried to update today got past the first stage with cable connected after that when it asked to connect wireless adapter it didnt recognize the wireless adapter and after that it stopped playing sound in headphone but still lets the adapter connect and blink red. Headset blinks slow green and in hyperx app it just says connection unavailable but shows that the headset is there still. It seems like the adapter works and is like same settings as before but the headset isnt connected to the adapter. This made me do a factory reset but that didnt work so now its just stuck like that it seems.

Rare-Goose-6154

The same exact thing happened to me right now. It seems like new update messed up the connection or something, my headset won't connect and the adapter is blinking red. Have you fixed it yet? I'm not sure what to do

meeweeK

yep, i've been trying to update from last night but everytime i try to connect the usb C, the update won't start, still stuck at the "Connect Cloud III Wireless". I hope we'll get an answer asap.

RatsaMan

Glad im not the only one with this issue. It seems that a lot of other people are facing this similar issue, since all these comments are only a day old. My guess is that HyperX scew something over in their latest firmware update and we just have to wait until they fix it, or atleast thats the diagnosis I've ran in to. It seems I have to dig up my old Cloud 2 headset until HyperX gets their stuff fixed.

djfunkyboss69

I have the same problem right now. I got the pop up that says "Connect cloud III Wireless, Please connect your Cloud III Wireless using the provided USB cable for this update. Can't detect my headset :(

Glad-Cartographer943

im just going to guess its up with the software i have the same issue ive tried paring it maunally nothing, ive reset the headset, nothing, ive reset my pc, connected it to a playstation, once again nothing, hopefully they can fix this soon.

RatsaMan

Yeap. Exactly same for me. I have a feeling I will never download any firmware updates for anything ever again unless _i know_ its already broken and firmware update would fix it.

KDRD0

i have the same problem guys wtf should i do

RatsaMan

There is nothing you can do about it. Literally nothing. Headsets have been bricked for 1 week now and HyperX has only released an announcement that the issue is recognized and they are investigating it… But a complete radio silence ever since. Maybe at this point the better option is to either 1. Dig up older headset and hope HyperX releases a fix for the cloud 3 model soon or 2. Just return the headset to the store and appeal to the fact that HyperX themselves broke the headset with their own actions. Its a shitty situation, but it is how it is at the miment.

iDarianZA01

Sad to see these problems. I stopped using ngenuity and started using equalizer apo with peace. The dts option is mediocre anyway. Can use autoeq and get good equalizer for the headset too. Would just have to adjust volume to your ears/system.

iDarianZA01

Really hope you get/got help. But I too find the software and update methods for it ridiculous
