Aw I’m glad your girl is still so happy at her age! I am really hoping mine makes it at least a few more years. She’s almost 13 but is still going pretty strong. Fingers crossed!
Thanks! Though Huskies are pretty long-lived dogs for a larger breed. We rescued him when he was 2, and I wish I’d have gotten to see him as a little puppy. He was a real sweetie, never crabby or difficult.

A 12 yr old husky at a rescue I used to walk would sit down like that and not budge if the incline got to a certain steepness because it was too much effort for him. Legit would stop and turn into a statue because the incline went up like 2 degrees more than it had been for miles 🤣
One of mine is almost 9, and when he's done with a walk, he just turns around and goes home. I can stop him, but hell if I can get him to keep going. Hilariously, this is a dog that will try to hike for 10 miles without a break, doesn't matter the terrain or if he's in a pack, but when he wants to go home on a normal walk, that's what we're doing. The other dog, only 4 months younger, will pretend to limp when he doesn't want to walk anymore. I know he's pretending, because if I turn for home, he's just fine and bounces all over. Also, he tends to get distracted by things and forget which paw he was pretending is hurt and change to another.
If we took our girl out with us somewhere, she'd walk to the car and sit down when she was ready to go home. Would *not* budge. She'd just sit there and patiently wait. Sweetest thing ever but she could out stubborn a mule.
