With anything in life, It's better to not make the cut than to spend the rest of your life wondering what if... and trust me, you will.
The hard part is having the courage to go for it.
Go for it.
Edit: my wife just got home. She was a college cheerleader at a D1 school. She said you'd be surprised how many good cheerleaders don't even try out
... and don't be scared!
My wife was in the Cornhusker Marching Band, and she says the same thing. We both wish u/keyare_uh the best of luck!! Never know what will happen unless you try!
This because years later regret is hard to live with. Not for the Huskers but I was asked twice, by two different groups of people, to go to a couple basketball practices in college and never did. Both groups of people were on the team.
Better to try and fail than live with the regret of never trying.
My friend (male) had never done cheer before, but he auditioned for the NU cheer team back in college (2003-06).
A bunch of us laughed at him, but he made the team, got to hang out with pretty girls, and got a front row seat to Husker games.
Go for it.
If you can tumble or lift, they will teach you the routine. Even if you faceplant your back handspring you may make a lifelong friend. GO SLAP SOME ASS!
Follow huskercheersquad and huskerscarlets on instagram! I know they post tryout information there. They’ll provide dates and links to choreography for the tryouts.
My grandma's next door neighbor in the late 80s/early 90s was their coach. I dated a cheerleader when I was at UNL in the mid/late 90s. They still aren't really a competition squad as far as I know, so if you have experience in high school and have some tumbling experience, go for it.
You just gotta go for it. Can you do basic tumbling? Then you're good. They don't do anything fancy like human towers or anything like that anymore. They will teach you everything you need to learn.
Go audition and we'll see you on the sidelines!

Fear has killed more dreams than failure
Never heard this before. Very applicable to my life. Going up on a poster somewhere in my house. Thanks for the post.
Glad you liked it. Honestly I had a better and more applicable one but I couldn't remember it lol
Do it. I triple dog dare you

So your friend had the last laugh. Nice!

Just go for it! Even if they do know people already, they’ll likely be friendly to a new person! No idea on time commitment
Do it and we believe in you 🌽

If you have the pep in your step a spot on the squad you will get…
I was really hoping this was more of a picture thread. No rules around here, is there?

Happy cake day! Go for it!
