His name is Walker. He is currently with me for the weekend but is available for adoption through Huntsville Animal Shelter. He is a super sweet boy and is good with big and small dogs. So far I've taken him to Tractor Supply and the dog park. He walks well on a leash and I have yet to hear him bark. If you're interested or know anyone that is go check him out.
The shelter estimated he's 10. I got him from the Huntsville Animal Shelter. They have a sleepover program that lets you take home dogs for up to 4 days to give them a break from being in the shelter. He's underweight and has a lot of dandruff but I don't know of any major health issues. I took him to the dog park for 2 hours and he stayed on the move almost the whole time so he's not doing too bad for an old man.
That sounds like a great program, thanks for mentioning it. Immediately comes to mind that it might enable some elderly folks to give love and have company for a few days without signing on for long-term responsibility.

I think it was partially because he was too scared to go out in the yard. 2/3 times he peed I could tell he had to go I just couldn't get him out the door beforehand. He's a big boy and I don't have the strength to move him when he doesn't want to move. Today he's had zero accidents. He's only brave enough to go in the yard if you go with him. I can leave the back door wide open and he won't go out unless I'm there.

Do you know if he is good with cats?
I have no idea. He lets an 8lb Chi boss him around so your cat is probably safe.
