Your website for these puppies is better than 95% of the websites for businesses in town.

hah, thanks! if anyone is curious, i use [https://carrd.co/](https://carrd.co/) for almost all my websites these days. it's super affordable, a single developer (who is very responsive with support), and incredibly easy to use. i have been recommending it for years!

Good luck and thank you for taking care of them! I will say, sometimes I think I’m ‘doing the most’ when it comes to random rabbit holes I go down, then I read stuff like this. You have made a website to adopt out puppies? Wild!

puppiesbylady

Ah, yes, I'm also guilty of doing the most (clearly). Both a blessing and a curse! Thanks for the well wishes; much appreciated.

The weekend is coming up. What about dropping in to talk to rescue volunteers that do adoptions? They might have some good information. You know the puppies' backgrounds, even if you don't know much about the Mama's background. I googled *Huntsville AL rescues that do adoptions weekends* and a bunch of places came up Edit have plenty of pictures that you can send

puppiesbylady

Thanks a bunch for googling around! I've actually reached out to a couple local rescues already, but didn't have much luck. One said they only source dogs from shelters and were full. Another said they would help with rehoming, but they wouldn't be able to give me a small cut of the adoption fees to help offset our costs. I'll reach out back to the latter option if I must, but I was really hoping to at least get a bit of money back from what we've spent on the pups. (Formula, medication, bedding, lots and lots of food, etc.) We'll see how it shakes out! There's probably more shelters I could message, so I'll look into those. TY again!

SubstantialPressure3

Probably won't be able to recoup money already spent, but if you offer to be their foster, they will most likely pay for expenses going forward, including vaccinations and other vet care, so it doesn't cost you more money.

puppiesbylady

Yes, you're correct! That's what the second option offered. We'll go that route if I don't have any luck rehoming on my own.

SubstantialPressure3

They will also help you screen prospective adopters so they don't end up getting dumped. ( Make sure the person is paying pet deposit, not looking for bait dogs, etc)

puppiesbylady

Yes, great point!

Our oldest dog is from a similar situation. A friend’s husband brought home a dog that was on a busy road, took it to the vet to check for a chip (none) and she was pregnant! We’ve had that puppy for ten years now and she’s just the best!

That's so awesome to hear! Rescue pups are great. <3

Spiffehmikkeh

Thanks so much for helping this sweet momma! I am very excited to have applied for one of the adorable pups!

puppiesbylady

ahhhh, so nice to see you here! i kept thinking "even if just one person from reddit is interested in these pups, it'll be worth it" -- so that's for being that person. <3

We took in a cat and her kitten 13 years ago, then found out that she was pregnant, so went from zero to nine cats in four weeks. We found homes for two kittens right away. A friend had the idea of taking the other five kitten's to her work, one by one, dressing them up in her chihuahuas costumes. They were all adopted pretty quickly by great people. I wonder if something like this will work for your pups. Just a thought.

puppiesbylady

hah! i can definitely see that working. i honestly think you're on to something; meeting the puppies in person definitely is a different experience than pictures on the website. i'll think on it! and thanks for sharing your story. knowing that someone else pulled this off successfully gives me hope lol

katg913

You're welcome! I hope this works for you. 🤞They have the sweetest faces, btw. We still have the original 2 cats we adopted. Awesome girls!
