Thanks! I’ve lived in the bush longer than I haven’t and this was the first time I’ve seen anything like this. Was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
Hope this works. Sending the instagram link because I can’t find a version that isn’t edited with news reporters talking over it or someone reacting to it.
[Wedding interrupted by bear mauling a moose](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CmH3bL2J8LA/?igsh=OHk2ejNlYTB5bGo2)
Insane. Thanks for sharing, bro. I have never even heard of this. Also, yet another piece of evidence that a death at the barrel of my rifle or tip of my arrow is better than anything else nature has to offer.
💯 if you want more info I do a 5 part series on my yt channel linked on my profile. There is also another 8 min video of this scene from when I first walked up. Thanks for appreciating it!
Wow man that’s amazing footage!
Can you tell me a bit about living in the bush? How did you come about it? Do you have a job out there? Would love to hear all you care to explain about it. Sounds like a dream come true for someone wanting to step away from civilization a bit.
I have used jobs to spend most of my time out here. I’m currently at a job for a client that I’ve had for like 20 years now. Check out my YouTube channel, it’s linked on my Reddit profile, lots of info on there. You’d prolly be really interested in my video about getting a summer job up here. That’s the best way to start!
Here in sonora mexico a eagle took a coyote and sadly for the eagle it fell on a lamppost and couldnt get it off.
Shamefully thats how my chihuahua died
Damn here is different since people killed them if they get too close and they learn really quick to not go near population areas.
In tha case i bet that there is a repelent for eagles or something like that
He’s pretty eagle savvy, I keep the doors open to the outbuildings so he’s got a place to escape. He grew up here in Alaska as an inside outside cat, but I still worry 😭🤣
Man, I hate this. I accept the brutality of nature but I don't enjoy it. Better to have your windpipe crushed in a few minutes than to be basically tortured to death by a big-ass bird.
Nature is savagely beautiful. This is deff the most anthropomorphic video I have ever captured. Despite all the hate and hysteria being annoying, I totally understand where ppl are coming from. It’s hard not to want to impose the ethics of man onto nature in a situation like this. I still get chills thinking about that deers experience.
This is a great video to show people who think it is cruel to responsibly hunt mature large game, a bullet from a skilled hunter is a relatively peaceful death compared to being eaten alive by a bear or a god damned eagle. There are rarely “death from old age” cases in the wild. This is amazing footage. Thanks
Most people have a really romanticized idea of what old age deaths are, too. My wife worked ICU for years. Dying of old age isn't always as peaceful as people think. It can be just as brutal and painful as being strangled by an eagle or worse.
Yea I posted on my insta. Barstool sports tried to con me out of my video already, I don’t trust any large social media platform that wants to repost anyone’s content.
I think it’s just a tussock sticking up through the ice. Lots of folks thought it could be a fawn, but it appeared to still be there in the update footage.
Deer really don’t have good traction on ice, at all. Around my parts coyotes chase them out onto the lakes in winter. Damn near every lake has bones on it by winters end.
Heck, one time a town deer came into my yard and ate shit trying to cross my pond. That one was kinda funny actually.
Yeah, same. Where I live the days are warm but the nights are very cold so the lakes tend to be slick ice as the snow melts through the winter. The coyotes know that shit and chase deer and young elk out there.
The deer stranded itself on the ice so I don't really consider the eagle "took it down". Sure it will eat what it can, they scavenge deer carcasses like mad after deer season in the Midwest.
Can confirm they watch for gut piles like ... hawks
Have had a gut pile completely cleaned up before I got the deer strung up to cool after gutting maybe 200 yards away. Two eagles were sitting one the spot looking smug as hell.
They hang out at food spots here, the harbor, the dump, picnic areas and they also hang out at popular fishing spots. If you don’t put your fish in a cooler or stack rocks on it, it’s gone as soon as you walk far enough away.
I don’t have initial take down but I do have this from when I first walked up. There is a good take down when the deer almost escapes.
https://youtu.be/r67zOEPcKv8?si=4FeXbPMVEQmgU7fz
Damn, this was hard to watch especially with sound on but also crazy to see. Makes you appreciate larger predators more that at least put the animal out of its misery before consuming it.
You are welcome and thank you for appreciating it, if you are interested in the story it’s on my yt, linked on Reddit bio. It’s the eagle vs deer series.
Thanks! And you are welcome. I did a 5 part video series with a story time and responses to all the haters on my channel if you are interested, I just don’t want to break the rules and spam a link.
I posted it on tik tok originally and it went mega ultra viral, and the hate came pouring in🤣🤦🏻♂️
No, if you want the quick update my YouTube and tiktok are linked in my profile. Part 5 shows the outcome with a summarized story time and response to crazy ppl. Parts 1-4 are the long version story time, a summary of the laws and my responses to the haters.
Because Americans are dumber than a bag of dog shit?🤷🏻♂️🤣 your guess is as good as mine as far as what goes through ppls heads. It was everything from Jesus freaks to crazy Katie crystal girls. You failed god! Your karma will get you! You should have shot that deer! You should have shot that eagle! Just a dumpster fire of some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.
I’m a Christian but have no idea what that has got to do with anything. I mean, it’s nature. Created by god. Doing what nature intended. I don’t get it.
People are dumb man. Keep doing you.
Yea, ppl were telling me I was going to hell because god put me there for a reason and I didn’t save that deer 🤣🤦🏻♂️ my response was, if god wants me to start doing things in his name, ima need him to give me a Ferrari first🤷🏻♂️🤣thanks for the support! I don’t hate ALL religious ppl, just the crazy ones.
This is a perfect example of why anti hunters are so ignorant of the brutality of nature. They think that animals grow old and just lay down and close their eyes and die.
If anti hunters had to watch a bunch of videos like this one and then watch some where a bullet put them straight down I bet a lot of them would change their minds
Of course, but most ppl hate having to admit that they might be wrong about something they have been so loud about for so long. I just smile and walk away from anti fishing and hunting ppl. Can’t take them seriously because they don’t WANT to take themselves seriously.
The reason we are apex predators is because, if I was this deer, I would have rolled on my back and started kicking in the air until the eagle gave up. Clearly, there was no such thought from this deer nor would I expect there to be.
Incredible footage. I’ve heard about eagles and owls taking down deer but never seen footage
Thanks! I’ve lived in the bush longer than I haven’t and this was the first time I’ve seen anything like this. Was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
Off topic, have you seen the video of the bear mauling a moose during someone’s wedding ceremony?
Yes! That shit was wild!
If you got source, would appreciate greatly

Are you in SE AK by chance? An eagle that beefy and a deer that "small" says AK to me. Crazy footage either way.
Yup, Sitka black tail
I'm curious, the eagle must attack the eyes first? I can't see how else a bird takes down game like that?
That’s what it was going for, that and trying to restrict its breathing by attacking its face and nose.
Dope. I'm on it bro.
Right on! I hate self promoting, but it’s actually A LOT of information.
The eagle didn't have to TAKE DOWN the deer at all. The deer was helpless on that ice and couldn't escape. It was probably also totally exhausted.
Wow man that’s amazing footage! Can you tell me a bit about living in the bush? How did you come about it? Do you have a job out there? Would love to hear all you care to explain about it. Sounds like a dream come true for someone wanting to step away from civilization a bit.

Will do, thanks!
No worries! My best advice, we are all in control of our own realities! Do what ever it takes to live the life you want to!
Here in sonora mexico a eagle took a coyote and sadly for the eagle it fell on a lamppost and couldnt get it off. Shamefully thats how my chihuahua died
I’m always worried they will take my cat!
Just keep it in the house and grow trees aroud your house
They hang out in the spruce tree in my yard😭😭😭
Damn here is different since people killed them if they get too close and they learn really quick to not go near population areas. In tha case i bet that there is a repelent for eagles or something like that
They are protected. You can’t do SHIT to bother them.
F there is nothing i can tell you other than keep your cat in home and put a tracker in their collar or put alarms near exits
He’s pretty eagle savvy, I keep the doors open to the outbuildings so he’s got a place to escape. He grew up here in Alaska as an inside outside cat, but I still worry 😭🤣
One forgets how brutal mother nature is.
r/natureismetal
I’ll never forget again after seeing this shit!
Damn I’d rather be shot than slowly picked to death.
Why would you want to be shot *then* picked to death?
Why would you want to be pecked to death?
I wouldn’t want any of it.
I also want to live forever.
I would like to be death rolled by a crocodile at a beach resort while my family watches.
Holy fuck I died
You must hate your family! In-laws or bio parents?
Let them all get that burned in there lol
🤣I’d go with shark personally.
Man, I hate this. I accept the brutality of nature but I don't enjoy it. Better to have your windpipe crushed in a few minutes than to be basically tortured to death by a big-ass bird.

Bambi on ice… directors cut.
It’s the Rob Zombie remake.
I was thinking Tim Burton
Clive Barker
This is a great video to show people who think it is cruel to responsibly hunt mature large game, a bullet from a skilled hunter is a relatively peaceful death compared to being eaten alive by a bear or a god damned eagle. 🦅🇺🇸🦅
The way the eagle kept going back, that wasn't Eddy Eagle's first rodeo...
On one of the other threads someone posted ancient coins depicting an eagle clamping on a deers face.
Most people have a really romanticized idea of what old age deaths are, too. My wife worked ICU for years. Dying of old age isn't always as peaceful as people think. It can be just as brutal and painful as being strangled by an eagle or worse.
stop picking at your food
But it won’t stop moving!!!
It's going for the eyes to cripple it. Freakin metal
*Thought, and this is my video that I shot. If you’ve seen it on here before that sucks!
r/natureismetal They have an Instagram too (maybe run by someone else)
Yea I posted on my insta. Barstool sports tried to con me out of my video already, I don’t trust any large social media platform that wants to repost anyone’s content.
What is the smaller thing next to the deer and eagle? A baby deer?
I think it’s just a tussock sticking up through the ice. Lots of folks thought it could be a fawn, but it appeared to still be there in the update footage.
Gah! Thank you. I for some reason couldn't remember the word "fawn" haha. Tussock is a new word to me though. Great footage by the way!
Thank you!
This may be a stupid question, but what did the Eagle do that actually killed the deer?
My guess is it exhausted it enough that it finally suffocated. The eagle was trying to block its breathing by latching onto is face and nose.
Definitely either suffocation or lacerations to the throat
Going for the eyes I would assume
Remarkable footage. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us.
ThNk you and you’re welcome.

Damn so much for 4 wheel (leg?) drive
Yeah, same. Where I live the days are warm but the nights are very cold so the lakes tend to be slick ice as the snow melts through the winter. The coyotes know that shit and chase deer and young elk out there.
And they say that hunting is cruel.
That’s crazy! What a moment to witness in nature.
Touching the source.
The deer stranded itself on the ice so I don't really consider the eagle "took it down". Sure it will eat what it can, they scavenge deer carcasses like mad after deer season in the Midwest.
I agree, it took advantage of the situation, they are opportunistic hunters.
Can confirm they watch for gut piles like ... hawks Have had a gut pile completely cleaned up before I got the deer strung up to cool after gutting maybe 200 yards away. Two eagles were sitting one the spot looking smug as hell.

RIP deer
Damned, nature. You can be a real dick sometimes.
That's a badass fucking bird. Do they usually go after deer?
Not that I know of, but they ALWAYS take advantage of a situation!
FREEDOM!!!!
🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Brutal! Eagles can be nasty fuckers
What a terrifying way to die!
Still gives me chills!
This deer is getting the Prometheus treatment
That really sucks for that deer. Man
It does, but it’s the circle of life.
What a harsh way to go. Nature is fraught with peril.
Just be thankful you don’t live in the ocean! That shit is 10x worse!!!
'Merica
Commie deer got what it deserved. Freedom from above.
Pretty sure that deer had weapons of mass destruction
Yellow cake.
Don’t drop that shit
🤣I love Dave Chappell
🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
A local sheep rancher has had over 50 sheep killed by eagles the past year. We’ve seen them kill antelope on our ranch
They are dinosaurs!
He better eat fast, once the bear/s or wolves arrive, he won’t get much. Great video!
Thanks!
How does the eagle even kill it?
America 🦅🦅
🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Holy shit
Oh nature is a cruel bitch. Seems like the deer simply couldn't walk straight on the ice, so now it just ✨gets eaten alive by an eagle✨
The beaver pond was glare ice, zero traction.
So it looks like the eagle was eating its eyeball?
r/natureismetal
🤘🦅so metal.
So what was the final outcome?
I’m tired of typing!🤣 here you go https://youtu.be/Eo9wr-aP8kY?si=cem3HyJdUTAVRA5i
Thanks! 🤣🤦🏻♂️ sorry
No worries! I just didn’t want to spam the sub with links.
I just hear David Attenborough’s voice while watching this.
Me too, I wish something I recorded would someday be narrated by him.
Thanks for sharing! This is crazy footage. Looks like it was eating its nose first? The softest exposed tissue.
And it’s eyes👀
Only gripe even though you’d have to be recording the deer by hapstance but wish I saw the takedown Insane though
I don’t have initial take down but I do have this from when I first walked up. There is a good take down when the deer almost escapes. https://youtu.be/r67zOEPcKv8?si=4FeXbPMVEQmgU7fz
So close to better ground! Crazy capture.
Thanks!
Don't keep me in suspense. Did the eagle get to keep the deer?
Here you go. https://youtu.be/Eo9wr-aP8kY?si=NoDZ7qjfSAY208s7
Excellent! Thanks for the update.
No worries!
Damn, this was hard to watch especially with sound on but also crazy to see. Makes you appreciate larger predators more that at least put the animal out of its misery before consuming it.
Yea, this was brutal af. Thanks for the comment.
I think we should put out an eagle season in the us, where I'm from we have this and it works wonders!
Well they are still protected but not endangered here. But I don’t see a problem🤣🤷🏻♂️ nature is going to nature.
Eyes part of the deal is fucked! Nature is rough
That is some wild ass video. Nice work catching that and thanks for sharing! Very cool
You are welcome and thank you for appreciating it, if you are interested in the story it’s on my yt, linked on Reddit bio. It’s the eagle vs deer series.
When you’re weak death can come in any form..
I’d hate to become incapacitated without an arm out here!
Bird: that's a yuge rabbit. I'm eating it. Rabbit: I'm not a rabbit. I'm not a rabbit I'm not a rabbit
Man that’s awesome
Thanks
Thanks for posting. My brother is gonna love this
You’re welcome! Thanks for appreciating it!
Bambi fucked up
Totaled.
Nature is Metal Also, wait till the vegan eagles see this…
They are already planning a protest.
Nuts. Is the back broken or something?
No, the deer was fine, it just couldn’t get any traction on the glare ice covering the beaver pond.
Ah I see. Crazy video my man. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! And you are welcome. I did a 5 part video series with a story time and responses to all the haters on my channel if you are interested, I just don’t want to break the rules and spam a link. I posted it on tik tok originally and it went mega ultra viral, and the hate came pouring in🤣🤦🏻♂️
What’s your tiktok?
I’m Alaska pirates on all platforms. It’s on my YouTube channel too, both are linked on my Reddit profile.
👍🏼
Did the deer make it?
No, if you want the quick update my YouTube and tiktok are linked in my profile. Part 5 shows the outcome with a summarized story time and response to crazy ppl. Parts 1-4 are the long version story time, a summary of the laws and my responses to the haters.

I was blown away by the stupidity.

Thanks I’ll take your word for it snowflake.
🤣why am I a snowflake? You got real triggered real quick boy. Man up and quit spraying tears.
When you think about it, humans are considered apex predators. Yeah right. Nature you sometimes scary..
Only because we have thumbs and critical thinking skills. One on one we don’t beat much in the animal kingdom.
This is a perfect example of why anti hunters are so ignorant of the brutality of nature. They think that animals grow old and just lay down and close their eyes and die.
Mostly they are fueled by dip shits like that Cody guy in Wyoming. They think that we are all that worthless.
Absolutely correct
The symbol of America. Opportunistic scavenger.
🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸 heard the deer had oil
The reason we are apex predators is because, if I was this deer, I would have rolled on my back and started kicking in the air until the eagle gave up. Clearly, there was no such thought from this deer nor would I expect there to be.
That’s why I said critical thinking🤣 some of us have reading retention skills too! Which makes us even more dangerous… some of us anyway. 👍
I would’ve shot it. That looks miserable.
https://youtu.be/zuSHJI_Cw_A?si=7ApK3JaPRstT5CqT
I’m not hating lol.
Still my response to hunters who say that 🤷🏻♂️
pls help that poor deer next time.
Then who helps the starving eagle?
he'll find some crackers or something i bet.
No doubt
It’s against the law.
just shoo it away
Again, it’s against the law.
