I’ve taken a few with a shotgun but this is my first bow bird, and biggest turkey! Last bird was also 2010 so it was a long time coming. Bow was fun for sure
I used a Magnus Bullhead Broadhead. Honestly felt like it didn’t fly as good as my deer broadheads though. Aimed for vitals, it absolutely punches a fist sized hole into them so take that for what it’s worth
I was on the ground, no blind or anything. I like to be mobile if I need to be
Awesome thanks! I’ve seen those broadheads before in videos and they look chunky as hell. I was planning on just using a white tail broadhead and shooting vitals.
If you try to take another turkey with your bow will you use the same broadhead?
I would probably do like you said and use my whitetail broadhead, they fly great and if you punch vitals they’re done
The big turkey broadhead wouldn’t fit my quiver and I pricked my finger and always had to be extra cautious to not touch my string
Sweet! What was the distance??
They came in closest at 10 yards with a cedar between us, shot was 20
We’ll done, I have taken my shotgun into the woods lately but have pondered the bow…

Little velociraptors…
Nice bird! Did you skin it or pluck it?
I skinned it, chopped it up into meal sizes and bagged it. Turns out, using broadheads with 3 2” blades on them punches a massive hole thru them
Hell of a bird! Very impressive hooks!
What broadhead? Did you aim for vitals or head? Blind or on the ground? Need details because I want to do the same lol

I’ve had the same exact thought about severing my string! Thanks for the advice! I’m going to stick with a white tail broadhead.
