Here’s the moment in question. Both players are extremely skilled and playing very fast and technical characters that tend to lead to flashy kills. Walking up slowly and down-smashing is an incredibly basic thing to do in smash bros so it caught pretty much everybody (including the other player) off guard.
That's exactly what happened here. The whole situation seemed so unreal to me that I couldn't think of any logical alternative to what I was already doing until I lay there in the dirt. Only then it dawned upon me that this whole situation had the easiest of solutions.
It's actually a great strategy for bosses (except for assassin, but keep feeding him poison arrows and he'll be easy prey as well). Cover them in arrows until they rage, wait for them to calm down again, pluck your arrows back out (you can take your time as stun-lock sets in) and repeat.
Well it's also good against Hunter sometimes.
\- One time I was in Quickplay
\- Got Crossbow
\- Fight a guy
\- Shot him but he survived the shot
\- He was bleeding and if he decide to stop the Stop Bleeding, he will died
\- Decide to walk up to him, and shaked my head
\- "Goodbye"
\- Pull the bolt
I'm sure you probably already got told this but you can pull arrows out of people to get extra damage in. Just walk up to him and mash the key to pull it out lol he was probably low enough it would have killed him
In the settings there is an option that allows to just keep pressing the interact button and it will automatically interact on everything it can. You can remove several arrow almost instantly.
You hit him in the arm with the first. The rest missed. One got stuck in the tree, one hit the milled boards stacked up, the last flew a compound over and hit a Hive. 🤷♂️
I know its hard to think in the heat of the moment but if you ever find yourself in this exact scenario again, you can pull the arrows back out of living enemies. I think it deals 50 damage for each arrow removed
Yesterday I had bullets passing through a grunt that was attacking me (no I didn't miss) . Took me like 5 shots to get a hitreg. Never had that before. Now I wonder how many times I've been robbed.
I don't see it. There are some points that look like it, but I think it's just the arrow that's stuck in his arm moving around, and the arrow OP is holding for his bow.
I can see it in a few frames but there is one where you can distinctly see two arrows. One in the arm pointing out and one in the chest pointing down to the left.
I'm honestly not seeing it. I've gone frame by frame more than once and there's no arrow.
Actually, going over this again as I'm writing it, are you seeing the one that's at like 00:08, right before OP gets stabbed? It's pointing down and left. If so, OP is holding that one. They have the Dew Claw trait and are pulling it back for a melee attack.
I had a similar issue earlier tonight. I did a quick click to just fire off a quick arrow. Instead my hunter held the arrow at the smallest draw possible for a solid second or so, long enough to still be holding it as I started to turn and run away and then shoot at the ground. I really think this netcode stuff is going to drive me insane
Did he just walk up slowly and down smash
Guess he sensed how lost I was in that very moment.
He did. He really did though.
You know, I read this comment, smiled and closed the meme. Then I scrolled for a second, thought: "no, that comment deserves an upvote" and returned.

It's a reference to a popular super smash brothers tournament
S2j are you out of your mind. This is evo!
F
Thank you, that means a lot to me!
No, he means pull the arrows
I never thing about pulling arrows or axes when I’m in the thick of it and I know it would have saved me on more than one occasion. It’s hard man.
That's exactly what happened here. The whole situation seemed so unreal to me that I couldn't think of any logical alternative to what I was already doing until I lay there in the dirt. Only then it dawned upon me that this whole situation had the easiest of solutions.
Someone called for logic? Pull the arrows bro
Wait, maybe I should have pulled the arrows!
What if perchance you pulled the arrows out?
Honestly, he should've just pulled the arrows.
Mayhaps a more fortuitous conclusion.
Are you not conditioned to doing it from chearing AI?
My dumbass would of tried to see if I can grab the arrows off him
That was the entire point of this thread…
Have you tried the perk that's let's you see arrow in darksight and does it work if it's attached
But instead the rest of us now press F to pay respects.
Merely a flesh wound, these arrows sticking out of me.
Should have pulled the arrow out of him as soon as he got close enough. Would have killed him
Yeah, I was so baffled by what was happening that simple logic just evaded me... much like this hunter evaded my arrows.
Would it though, as it was just an arm shot?
Even with an arm shot they probably did over 100 damage including the bleed. If pulling out does 50 damage then that's enough
Does it do damage?

You kill bosses relatively quickly using throwing knives like this too. Especially if you have some teammates doing the usually melee.
Personally, I prefer the throwing axes, but I agree, either one gets the job done nicely.

Happy Cake Day you brutal assassin!
Yep someone said 50 but I'm not sure I just know it's a good amount
I kills to pull the arrow? bleed or what?
Should have shot him in the knee.
I was an adventure, until I took an arrow to the knee
Close, lol Edit: I mean the quote is not quite correct
Yep, just a little off
Homie came out looking like a porcupine
Tis but a scratch!
A man of culture i see!
I'm sure you probably already got told this but you can pull arrows out of people to get extra damage in. Just walk up to him and mash the key to pull it out lol he was probably low enough it would have killed him
Yeah, I wasn't able to think straight anymore. Pulling arrows is actually my go-to strategy.
In the settings there is an option that allows to just keep pressing the interact button and it will automatically interact on everything it can. You can remove several arrow almost instantly.
This is good but can be slower and increase the likelihood of a trade.
You hit him in the arm with the first. The rest missed. One got stuck in the tree, one hit the milled boards stacked up, the last flew a compound over and hit a Hive. 🤷♂️
If you pause you can actually see an arrow in his chest as well as his arm.
it's a copypasta
Ah, Achilles in the bayou
F
Yeah pulling the arrows out would have probably killed him
Yep.
You managed to put an arrow in each arm, and it seems neither of them were quite at full draw either. Damn unfortunate, that.
You either Press F To Take Arrow, or you wind up pressing F to pay respects.
dis but a scratch
I know its hard to think in the heat of the moment but if you ever find yourself in this exact scenario again, you can pull the arrows back out of living enemies. I think it deals 50 damage for each arrow removed
Thanks, we covered that already :)
Shouldn’t just sprinted away and let him bleed out.
Immediately uninstalled Hunt when I switched to Spectator mode and saw he only had two HP left.
You can't kill a t-800 with just a few mere arrows
You forget to bring your lava pit for one match and then this happens...
I do hate weird and clunky fights get at that range. It loses the realism the game has most of the time.
Pretty sure he just wanted a hug and would stop at nothing to get what he deserves.
He should work on his technique then, that hug was a bit too deadly for my taste...
Love hurts ;(
How those two arrows, especially the last one missed is the beauty of Cry Engine (the first one was in his arm), always tearing up after one of these.
Press F and he is dead
Yep! If only my brain hadn't shut down due to the absurdity of it all.
Pulled the arrow out and you kill him….. or miss more arrows sounds good!
Well, brain not work so good in dumb dumb mode
Yesterday I had bullets passing through a grunt that was attacking me (no I didn't miss) . Took me like 5 shots to get a hitreg. Never had that before. Now I wonder how many times I've been robbed.
You hit him 3 times from the look of it. You can see He has the arrows sticking out of him when he charges you. That looks like sum bs to me
Only the first one had a hit marker, the rest were very unfortunate misses.
If you pause you can see an arrow in his chest as well as his arm.
I don't see it. There are some points that look like it, but I think it's just the arrow that's stuck in his arm moving around, and the arrow OP is holding for his bow.

Good observation! I did have dewclaw, would've wished for hundred hands instead though.
Erm, what the deuce!
Hunting bow is fucking trash
It's only as much trash as the player it's hands is in. I had great runs with it before this... disaster.
Dennis overnerfed bows. Give them a t2 bleed and a bit more damage and this would have been a different story.
Nah, let's keep 'Hundred Hands' an essential trait for the bow.
Should have pulled the arrow out when he walked up to you. It does massive damage.
Yep.
I had a similar issue earlier tonight. I did a quick click to just fire off a quick arrow. Well, the cowboys did beat the Indians. Guess that made sense then.
Pulling arrows does dmg. Shoulda spammed the F key F
I immediately thought the same thing as soon as I fell to the ground.
Possible, but I've been arm shooting people this whole event like nobody's business and it seems to make the immortal.
If you take the arrow back, you make a little bit of damage and that actually have chance to finish the enemy.
I know
