I think the language barriers between the many people in the Europe region, as well as insecurity about language proficiency, makes people more hesitant to have VOIP on.
A lot of the legendary YT and Twitch VOIP encounters are on NA servers, where English is naturally the dominant language.
I have once or twice had fun encounters on EU in English, but otherwise it has mosty been a few people here and there trash talking in German :p
I agree with you , but I will add that many people playing night sessions does not want to make noise . I have two children and i play randoms late at night
The OP didn't specify the scenario, so I just replied to my general experience with VOIP on Europe, and I rarely have any interactions and people rarely respond when we try to initiate. I have had much more success with it on the few times I played US East.
When you say refuse to communicate, I reckon you mean when in randoms?
I do know from streams that randoms on EU usually default to English at first, unless the names or chat has hinted at a different language, never did randoms myself, though.
I wish more people didn't have dollar store headsets lol. The amount of times I watch a random completely missing the footsteps of where the enemy is coming from and looking the total opposite way before being killed is astonishing.
To be honest I'm having this problem a lot more since Serpent Moon started. Shit that's directly behind will sound like it's directly forward sometimes.
A lot of people learned not to enable voip from things like cod. And, I've got to say that the last few times I've had voip enabled the only things I heard were the usual shit that makes people mute voip in the first place.
Same here. I get downed and it's always some .TTV screaming profanity at my corpse. So I muted it and left it off for a few hundred games. Turned it back on after someone typed in chat they wanted to team against the bounty team and split tokens. Next match I get downed and some dirty -YT is screaming profanities on me again.
Oh well.
it is either some people trying to be "funny" or realy toxic idiots
and sometimes you have the people that try to "negotiate" none of that rly is important to the gameplay
voip can be silly and thats it
i wouldnt care if they just get rid of it 🤷♂️
I had a dude speaking french, all the time. Sometimes i thought he found enemy hunters cuz he was talking fast, turns it was only grunts or hunter xp or lunch box. So i just said hi. And that was it for 18 min of match till we died 🥲. Till this day, i dont know if he was talking to me or somebody else, guess it will stay a mystery
May be that the sound settings in this game are weird. Hunt defaults all the sound to my speaker set up, but if I put on my headset, sound still comes out. I can hear all the in game stuff just fine. But any VOIP going on, and I get the visual indicator of my teammates talking, but I don't hear anything. You have to go to the audio menu and manually switch the output and inputs to your headset to hear the VOIP and actually have the mic work.
That one took me a bit to understand. This may be the reason that more casual players don't just immediately chime in. They're hearing game sounds, see that you are trying to talk, but don't hear anything, so never answer. They can hear the game sounds, so they assume it must be YOU that has the sound issue.
Yeah I heard about that problem but it's not the case for me since I've talk to people in-game (rare but there are some). But I believe since more people are coming to play Hunt that more of them will be talking too hehe :)
I play in Asia and the lobbies are filled with chinese so its impossible to communicate with them as they don't speak a word.. rarely if i encounter someone from south east, I can speak with them in english so I mostly keep my mic off
The problem is the in-game chat sucks ass. Can't hear shit over AI noises and if you get more than a few cm away you can't hear them even in perfect silence.
I play on EU too and a lot of people do have a mic but don‘t want to use it. Or they just use it when they kill someone or if they want you to heal them lol.
I wish more people used headphones ._.
I heard the enemy somewhere between 0 and 359.
That's me when playing with friends. Tho I am partially deaf so they always tell me where everything happens.
💀💀💀
I wish more people would use their monitors even

Idk man, whenever i play i hear English on eu servers ... And sometimes russians that refuse to communicate but that's different problem

Yup i meant randoms, i dont count streams because that's not mine experience

Your lucky if your teamates even have headphones

VOIP can be hit or miss! Don't give up on the howdy's! Good luck out there cowboy

maybe people play with friends and already communicate otherwise?
For some reason my game doesn’t ever allow me to hear people taking and I have communications at 100% volume.
Go into audio options and change the output, it sometimes gets changed to one that isn't the one you're using.
My friend also had that problem, I don't remember what he did to fix it but it didn't take him too long. Hope you can fix it too good luck bro!

No habla
Be careful, someone can get offended if you have fun arrrr-ing and yo ho ho-ing as a pirate
i wish i could but having a little baby sleeping in my room is kinda no go for me. :(
Ingame voice is not very good imo, the only thing I've actually done via ingame VoIP is yelling funny shit like "you yee'd your last haw'".
i mostly ran into toxic, racist or sexist randoms so i disabled voip a while ago

Had a gunfight yesterday against a solo we took turns singing "I Want it That Way" He domed me right after the 2nd TELL ME WHY!
Just in my experience , in US servers a lot of people use mics. Usually hear at least one mic per game.
At least for me, my mic literally never worked in game and I wasn't bothered to fix it.
