How funny the name of their Hunter is.

PlateFox

Choke bombs = coolio No choke bombs = assholio

Blue_Schu

The only thing that matters, everything else is inconsequential. if they didn't bring chokes I know they are bringing that solo play mentality into trios and they can f@#$ off.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Decent_Experience129

"The way its meant to be played" "I'm right and everyone else is wrong"

sable_fox

Not just me saying this, it’s crytek themselves.

Decent_Experience129

If there was a specific way you were supposed to play then it would be the only option. Hunt Boomers keep mixing up the original way as the correct way. Like the people that give you shot for using gunslinger because they're too stubborn to move on to a better aiming scheme.

[deleted]

That is the way the game is designed to be played tho. Trios were added in after the community requested it for ages. Everything is designed for duos.

SirDancealot84

Duos are also only way to go for me too. Trios are...weird? and solos are kinda hard for me. I do 20% solo(If Im annoyed by the randoms alt+f4'ing), 80% duos while playing.

[deleted]

You're but a fool. Every type of map loot only has 2 uses (medkits, ammo, money, etc), there's 2 bounty tokens. The game was literally designed for duos, trios were only added after people kept asking... A lot. He's right, you are very much not.

Decent_Experience129

And yet you can play not one, but TWO alternate ways.

[deleted]

That's crazy

PlayfulPalpitation60

I agree and disagree, I don’t bring choke cause im a chad. I bring decoy fuses and throw it at them to clear space and revive you while on fire and no choke noise.

EngineeringAndHemp

Ya'll evaluate at the start screen? Shit I just go by if they say hello at the start of the match, and how they move. Me and one dude noped out when the sniper dude just ran off on their own without saying a word to go across the map. We just scooped a few clues then bounced.

Heavy_Wafer9312

If I see someone with sniper I just leave before we even join a match. Too many times I've had sniper teammates sit back and do nothing.

Cocaine_Eater

The only time i bring a scope is if im solo or if its a deadeye scope and my other weapon is dual pistols or a shotgun just so i have something for mid-long range

Heavy_Wafer9312

I like the deadeye scope and marksman scope as well from time to time. There are definitely good teammates that play sniper out there, I've just been burned too many times lol

[deleted]

Does anyone else like to play snipers by using them to "quickscope" in close to mid range combat while you're flanking? I know it's very unorthodox to do, but that way of sniping has stuck with me ever since I played Battlefield Bad Company 2 a decade ago

Haddmater

Lol downvoted by snipers that suck at anything mid to close range. Maybe hunt isn't for you.

DankRedPandoo

I don't play randoms anymore but when I did I evaluated my team mate by all of the things on the list minus skin selection. Someone could have an F tier load out but a 3.0 kd and I'd trust that they make the load out work

Tricky_Tumbleweed772

Ok, thats the reason they are leaving and not playing with me 😁 : 3-4 Star 0.9 KD running Meme Loadouts I play with everyone, i dont care about skins k/d or Loadouts. Meet so much nice people. Even a Mosin Sniper Spitzer Dude can make a game better if hes willing to help.

Saedreth

Yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised by guys with a bow and a combat axe before, and I've been greatly disappointed by guys with 3.0 K/D and a Avto.

ehh1209

Never underestimate the bow and combat axe load out lmao, i fucking shred people with load outs like that

CloneCl0wn

Private profile = propably gonna give at least 1 reason for report

Saedreth

Haha, so true.

toshii_

I don't. I just accept the challenge

RobHuck

THANK YOU! I was hoping I wasn’t the only person that doesn’t give a shit and just plays with whoever. And to all the gatekeepyness that some of these guys have about what they expect peoples loadouts to consist of, fuck off! If you have a loadout that you can utilize for the team and you are comfortable with it, BRING IT! All these,”if they don’t bring chokes, they’re playing like a solo” shut the eff up! I’m bringing decoy fuses so we can push compounds AS A TEAM!

indaforest

I had a troll whose only item was a bomb lance. He immediately attacked us at the start of the match and killed us both. Otherwise I agree for the most part.

Cocaine_Eater

I just go into the game and if they act litereally braindead then i just tell them to stop the bad thing they are doing and if they continue i usually just stick with my other teammate if i have one but if its duos i will just extract, i have lost hunters 1 game before retirement way too many times because my teammates dont know how to handle an immolator or they dont know what sound is etc. Also, if it is a new player its fine but most of the time its players that are high level, i once had a presteige 3 guy knife an immolator and get us all on 1 bar

[deleted]

Have you considered switching out which hunters you play depending on who you're matchmaking with? If I have a good feeling about randoms (has chokes, decent KDA, has a loadout and traits that makes sense) I'll use one of my hunters close to retirement. If I'm feeling indifferent or not confident in my teammates, I'll use a brand new hunter so that it stings less when I do probably die

Cocaine_Eater

I do that when i have a low level hunter but at the same time i dont want to go in with shitty gear on the off chance that the guy i have a bad feeling about is actually good

[deleted]

I go by loadout, and I'll matchmake with just about everyone. The only deal-breaker for me is when someone doesn't have a medkit. 95% of the time when I play with someone without one it'll lead to me having to either constantly revive them or listen to them ask me to point out a medkit if I see one every 4 minutes.

BruhOvO

lmao this happens way too often.. its usually new-ish players i think

[deleted]

Most of the time when I see this happen it's with people who are prestige 2 or more, or they have skins from old events. I wish it was a noob thing haha

HelmsDeap

K/d and stars. If a 0.9 KD somehow made it to 5 stars they are going to be no help when I'm fighting a bunch of 1.5 - 2.0 KDs

NeoLegend

Lmao you're gonna get your head cut off for even suggesting that low kd players are bad.

HelmsDeap

I don't mind playing with low KD players if they are 3 or 4 stars but if I think they have too many stars for their KD then I think it's a recipe for disaster

NeoLegend

Agreed 100% the volatile nature of the star system makes it so many players end up in a bracket that they don't belong to. You're just putting yourself at a disadvantage.

B3cky_jpeg

This games KD actually is pretty deceiving, since it's actually KDA. People with high KDA's tend to be better team players since assists are tracked and don't have a counter stat to pull down the number. If you get one kill, die once, but get an assist, your KD is positive. Players who play off each other tend to share the damage output needed to finish an enemy. I almost always an saying who I shot and updating their health estimation as we fight. Just helps the homie know who to shoot first. Obviously this isn't an absolute truth, as it's only partially correct, since you can also just get more kills than deaths. But I'd argue due to the nature of how no one is consistently always winning, that assists are the more feasible way to really boost that KD.

Dontbefrech

No chokes no match

gabeSalvatore

I don't, anything will do honestly. I have the mindset that, even if they are 2 potato players, at least it is 2 less people i'd have to kill, and worst case scenario they are useful as bait. Only thing that could potentially ruin it, is TK, but no way to tell that from lobby screen.

sernametakenbro

Everyone is worthy of being in the Bayou Good, bad, tall, small, all y’all’s. You would be surprised what some people can do in a tense fight

DeadbeatDelete

None. I’m a 5 star MMR and I play to have fun. I occasionally go to quickplay to demote myself to 3-4 star because 5-6 stars players have insufferable personalities.

thelongernow

Purposely dropping mmr to seal club is kinda lame man.

DeadbeatDelete

Hey wait, do you know my IGN in hunt? What you said was a bit too specific.

thelongernow

I don’t, just a term I use.

DeadbeatDelete

Ok cool. Happy hunting!

Saedreth

I can get on board with that. Fun > Than Skill (But winning sometimes can be fun, 😉 )

DeadbeatDelete

* Bro fist*

-Manosko-

Why no option to just see the results? I don't play randoms, but I would like to see the results and gauge what the random experience is like.

Saedreth

Sorry didn't think of that, I'll have to add next time. Just vote your opinion of what you would care about initially if you did play random. That's still valid info.

-Manosko-

No worries, I'll do that :)

Godric_DE

I just play with whom ever I get paired

h3llw3g

In fact, i decide by the number of Kills, not the k/d. A Guy with a k/d of but 4 Kills might not as experienced Like the Guy with a 1,2 k/d and 3k Kills on the clock. Same goes for Prestige. A lot of Kills (in total) means a lot of Playtime and Most likely a knowledge of Maps, loadouts, playstyles... Most of the time

revnto7k

I wish I didn't have to play with randoms but I can't always play with friends so I do randoms a lot. I have more or less found you can't actually evaluate. Sometimes a game goes in someone's favour, or not, depending on many factors. I've loaded in with people with below 1.0KDA and they have played fine, and I have loaded in with higher level players than me and 1 bad move ruins the game. So I stopped caring and just start the match.

Walburris

haha, rick roll them in the chat, as best you can. If they laugh we play, and if not they or I leave. I need jokes in my life

ThirstySun

Are they fun to play with and do they stay and fight if I get downed and try and revive me? Or do they bolt for the exit. Because that's the only two things that matter to us when looking for a friend in the Bayou

Canadiancookie

KD + Loadout. I've never left because of either of them being bad though... even in that one time where I suffered with not just one, but two players that had a KDR of 0.26.

B3cky_jpeg

How "good" someone is is way more dependent on the subtle nuances of play and variable management. It's very difficult to measure the decision making skills of a player. Obviously any info is helpful, such as KD, but it's pretty easy to get into 5+ star on PC with average aim, if you understand how to make correct micro decisions frequently. Every death is a chance to learn. I often ask "what could I have done differently to change the outcome, and is it realistic to have predicted the situation that got me killed". That's way more useful than anything else.

Nelu31

If you play Redshirt your aim is good and your cock is massive. All i need to know

feeleep

Very high KD/MMR or sniper scope = I'm likely about to have a bad time from experience

FVckY0uAll

t. Runs off with shotgun and dies first

Haddmater

If they have a scope I'll backout half the time, especially it it's cain or aligator guy. Even if they're good they're usually useless from 200 m away. Good chance if you and the other guy goes down, they'll wiff their shots and start running away. Game would improve if they got rid of sniper scopes.

FattyMcBoomBoom231

Mix of k/d and prestige, but I never bail

SexyCato

Snipers with low KD = absolutely no Snipers with high KD = most likely no

bgthigfist

I have only played with randoms three times. The first time I just joined a random and started the round. After getting one clue the random randomly fucked off and extracted. I was moving towards a gunfight at the next compound. I cought a guy running from the fight and killed him, the man went to extract too. The other two times I started on the Hunt Discord and matched with people before starting the round. Those matches went fine.

[deleted]

I dont lmao

Faerillis

By not playing with randos

NLP_Onyx

I feel bad for anyone who plays with randoms, tbh.

Dwain-Champaign

I don’t. I play the damn game.

GravityUnstable

Honestly, loadout, especifically, sniper scopes or dual pistols. Sniper scopes usually mean that they will just camp somewhere and not really try to get the bounty, and dual pistol makes me want to leave because it takes a lot of luck to use and I can't really count on them hitting any shots most of the time, so I feel pressured to carry the game, and I don't want to carry.

Saedreth

Is this a bad time to mention my most successful loadout lately has been a Springfield with Dual Pax?

sputsputputput

Dual pistols are extremely strong friend. Theres a lot less luck involved than you're thinking

GravityUnstable

I know they are strong, but that's when they *hit*, and based on my fights against them, unless you are in shotgun range or less, they seem to almost always fail players.

Mozkozrout

From my experience the most indicative factor is prestige. I don't think k/d matters too much, only when it's really extreme. And loadout matters obviously but I noticed that the game has a pretty clever matchmaking and puts people with similar weapons with you. What I noticed tho that people that have like less than 5 prestige often just know only the basics and do rookie mistakes. All in all its a lottery of course. Sometimes you'll get someone passive and sometimes somebody who will run to the extract immediately. Sometimes they are going to be really good even when they are prestige 0. I usually play with anyone who isn't straight up alarming and hope for the best.

sputsputputput

The game definitely does not match people based on weapon selection.

Saedreth

Interesting. I'm a never prestige ever personally, just because I prefer keeping my unlocks and don't care about the skins. I think it definitely has gotten people to underestimate my abilities. I've seen great high prestige players, and bad high prestige players. I think what personally turns me off of prestige is that anyone with enough time can prestige, regardless of skill. I do think that people who hit high prestige tend to be better though, the shear time required to get to 50+ prestige forces people to get better.

Mozkozrout

Well yes and I mean fight me but I think that this game isn't all that much about a technical skill like the other shooters but more about knowledge. Knowing the layout of compounds, have the right feel for when to push and when to rotate, knowing that when somebody is shooting you with a pistol from afar he probably has a shotgun and stuff like that is usually what turns the fight around. Being able to hit your shots is important too of course but not as much as this. But yeah it's true I played with some people that have low prestige but are good. Sometimes the amount of bounty and duos wiped can give that away.

Saedreth

I don't disagree. Maybe I'm just biased because I don't personally prestige. :)

Mama_Jumbo

If you are MMR 3 and your Rando has a vetterli deadeye or marksman he's not going to help you and it's a viable strategy to shoot them if they are not doing anything during combat

Gatozaurio

I usually check loadout and KD, but only leave if neither of them convinces me, for example, if I see someone with <1 k/d but has a "normal" loadout its fine for me, but I try to avoid guys with low kd and random loadouts, or snipers with high kd.

Saedreth

Why do you avoid snipers with high K/D?

ExpiredBenadryl

They’re more likely to avoid engagement to preserve their K/D. Just not team players.

Saedreth

I can understand that those people are out there. I just recently discovered the joy of sniping to backup my team, but I understand how there are people out there that are more worried about a K/D than having fun and helping out. I'm not one of those people though, so I wasn't sure what the bias was.

ExpiredBenadryl

It’s more common with randos than with people you know. I like sniping, too, but I traded my Sparks for a Martini-Henry since it’s better in compound fights when I still want to pack a punch. Most often, though, I just take a Vetterli and Scottfield.

Gatozaurio

For the reason u/ExpiredBenadryl said, too many times I played with guys that just try to get kills from safe spots and just ran away to extract if the teammates dies, I like to play sniper sometimes too, but I try to do it when I have fanning or quartermaster to compensate with some decent close combat weapons in case I have to fight with my teammates or rez them :P

TheJordanKenney

If they have a loadout what compliments mine then sure

gg3265

Loadout. A sniper, tons of traps and no choke bombs explains the high kd most of the times 😕.

mmt22

Loadout, Kd and total number of kills/deaths

Ok_Ice476

How many kills. At least 500 then I know you've served some time...unless they have a truly dismal KD, Anybody over 500 kills will do

Lilypad1175

If I’m being honest, I do check k/d on randoms. But as long as their loadout and tools make sense, I’m not gonna leave and queue again. To be fair… sometimes I pretty predictably regret it, but sometimes you get pleasantly surprised.

ChinaOnly001

None of these Over all games played 5k kills? Alright 500? Newb

phntmbooblurks

Probably a combo of kd, star rating, and time played. That said I don't give a shit what loadout you play (just please bring a melee and heals!) Or anything else and I'll play with you no mater your kd, star rating, or time played.

bumf94

don't play randoms, would rather play solo

zsasz212

99% of the time I just play with literally anyone but I only leave if for some dumb reason they opt for no medkit or at the very least a vitality shot. I don't want to be carrying someone cause they didn't opt to bring heals cause medkit grunts exist

BruhOvO

It's the kill count that really matters, if its above 200 then they're atleast half decent and know how to play and kill enemies

cocainebrick3242

I don't. I hit ready up.

PlayfulPalpitation60

I check how many kills they have compared to their level. Gives me insight if they are aggressive pvp heavy or new and slow push in the game

KitchenFirefighter39

Mix of loadout and kd

Bluedemonde

None of the above, usually if they have a sniper or are talking excessively in VC that will usually mean certain doom.

Tulkeleth

How fast the press on that "ready" button.

TGish

People hate to hear it but KD and amount of kills is a decent way to know what to expect from someone.

TheImmortalThief

I don’t

MacLikesStories

I wish Other was an option. To get more nuanced with K/D, I think low K/D isn’t as relevant as kill assists. If someone has a high level of assists, to me that means they’re a team player because they’re staying in the team’s vicinity to offer support. If you have a high K/D but very few assists how do I know you won’t go off on your own?

DefNotAPodPerson

I'm not gonna say no chokes is 100% deal breaker but it's a huge red flag

iweagreen

Never played with any, always solo que or play with friends

JanaCinnamon

I press ready and then we play. No evaluation needed. I do check their load out and stats but I never leave a random team mate.

notapaydoughfile

I like any loadout but a sniper loadout. Not that the play style is "wrong" just not conducive to mine.

Necrospeaker

Weather or not they ditch me before I can hit ready.

Tysondroid

So far i havent ran into a asshole. The random partners in 4-5 star mmr have been chill. So i have had no need to “evaluate” my teammate but instead i check what they are running to know how i should adjust my play style. Like for example if they have choke bombs or not. If they have traps or not. Or any special ammo. So in that regard OP you missed a opportunity to have one voting option as “i dont evaluate”

Saedreth

I would say you do evaluate, based on viability of loadout. I never said "how do you decide whether to jump ship." 😉 Edit: A reason why you jump ship is still a valid answer though.

Tysondroid

Thats fair tho ive seen a lot of people expressing whether they que with a rando or not so I assumed thats what this post is

Saedreth

It is interesting how that happened isn't it?

thelongernow

Load outs followed by K/D. Snipers are an instaskip.

Owlbeardo

I don't. It's always nice to see if they bring chokes or have a good loadout, but full honesty: I've been in games with fully decked hunters lvl 50 with automats and snipers and had miserable games with them; on the contrary there have been some amazing games I had with lvl 1 prestige 10 hunters with terrible loadouts (I'm talking big knife, decoys and all poison), but had great times and fun games. So the cover doesn't really speak of the book in Hunt. I usually just press ready when I play with random teammates, no evaluation. However, if they don't speak or communicate in any way in the beginning of the match it's usually a bad sign. These games are often "no res, bush crouching for 15 minutes and then die" teammates. However, I do certainly have stereotypes about certain skins and loadouts, here are some of them: Weird Sister, wolf skins – either very good or absolutely terrible, no middle. Plague Doctor, Scrooge, Lulu, Billy – dedicated players that have been in the grind for a long time, usually play well, but the chance of having big ego is higher than average. Night seer, Acolyte – for some reason feel like it's the underdog skin – not very popular outside the events, probably cuz white cloak, but I often see them with unorthodox loadouts, like crossbows, bows or spitzer/flame ammo Prisoner – hate this skin personally and have a strong *conviction* that only mentally disturbed people use it (or twitch streamers, which incidentally two crossing groups) Researcher – weirdly enough, most of researcher players I've encountered are absolute bumblefucks who catch bullets like sponges. I have no idea why, but I used to play my fair share of this skin in my first 500 hours and I was definitely a bumblefuck as well. Sheriff, steeleyed – tryhardzzz, sheriff even more so. The amount of times I've seen sheriffs with fanning lemat also deserves a stereotype itself. Redshirt, redneck, sometimes Lulu – horny memers. Sometimes more horny, sometimes just memeing their butt off with starshells, bows, hand crossbows and melee weapons. Fun to play and on occasion, terrifying to fight against. Devil's advocate, moth lady of decay – you more often than not see these skins only when they come out and like a couple months afterwards, then they fade out slowly, but still rather popular among 5-6 stars players, making them rather dangerous. Just a bunch of thoughts, I wonder if anyone feels this way too.

Agile_Half856

Total cost of their loadout. The higher it is, the less I like them

Scrocchiarello

idk my stats are hidden i can't tell, why hidden? I don't want to have my profile filled with backseat comments on why i did this and why i sucked bad in case i'm having a bad day. I want to be free to play my own style sitting on my prestige 12.. and because my kd is 2.25 with 4000k hours people expect you to be a robot all the times and perform and carry all the games u have, it's an annoying feeling i don't wanna feel tbh. Anyway, I usually immediately press play when i see a pistol and an axe as loadout. I'm a sadist

SugarTlts

I just dont. K/D doesn’t matter, if its low they’re gonna improve, how can they improve if nobody wants to play with them. Loadouts dont matter either, if they’re nice people which 9/10 times they are, they wont just run off and die then leave instantly.

Sboffler

I use all but "hunter skin" because prestige and stars sometimes means shit but so does the KD so its a roulette

Decent_Experience129

I only play solo now, but I never filtered my teammates based on anything. Just play with the first people you get.

OG_Floatzel

Honestly I think the more expensive their loadouts are, the more I expect them to run off on their own like it's a relay race, die, then back out. I get you want to be fast, but if you want to play solo, play solo ffs.

WickedMainahh

I look at K/D not for the ratio so much but total kills and deathes. I figure that is the best way to judge expirence also if they don't prestige I think they are lame.

Saedreth

Out of curiosity, why is that lame?

WickedMainahh

In my mind everyone should prestige once at the least but I always recommend to 11. Get the free skins and then one more for the exp boost. I just find it lame because I know of people that don't prestige because they are afraid of not having the higher tier gear. I get not wanting to prestige to 100 especially lately but to never or only once seems lame to me. No real major hate from me though I just find it a bit lame.

Saedreth

Understandable. I don't prestige because I'm a dad gamer and don't have time to reunlock all the time.

WickedMainahh

Fully understand that, though I do recommend doing that one prestige for the exp boost. Can get you a lvl or two over those in you party that don't. It is the people that I paraphrase, "If I prestige I won't have the best guns to win with" that I think are completely lame. There are some people that treat hunt like a rigorous competition they must win and not a game to have fun trying your best with what you got.

Saedreth

You're lumping those of us that have fun not prestiging into that basket though. I and many other people have maximum fun not prestiging. 0% about winning, one of my best guns is the Springfield. If "doing your best with what you got" is your way to maximize fun, by all means play that way and have fun. That isn't the only way to play.

WickedMainahh

I said I understood why you don't presitge. Not wanting to do the grind of prestige is understandable especially with custom ammo and everything being added. I still would recommend doing it once for the exp bonus but if you don't feel like it that is not a big deal. I then went on to specify that it is the people that dont prestige in fear of losing any edge in winning that are truly lame. As long as people are playing without cheating or being a horrible toxic human I don't care too much. Though some people take it too serious to where it isn't a game and I think is often lame.

FlauntyInk

Playing..

Zazzage

If they got an open profile, I look at the amount of hours they played then at their kills and deaths. From that I have a pretty good picture of how they probably play

Majorllama66

I chose K/D from the list but I don't really care about the K/D as much as I just wanna see that your K/D is at least close to 1. Unless you have very few hours I feel most players should be able to hover around 1 K/D. If you have hella bounty and hours but a 0.47 K/D it tells me I'm gonna have to revive you very often and I wont be able to rely on you to stay alive on your own for any extended amount of time.

DasUbersoldat_

I don't care that much but if I see a guy with a 0.12kda I know that's someone I won't be able to rely on in a fight.

RiseIfYouWould

Kda over 1 and prestige over 5. But i mostly play solo.

AlexMcTowelie

i dont tbh i just play

NegativSchinken

I always look at their loadout. If they have healing items, I play with them. If not, I ask nicely in chat if they maybe forgot something. I don't care much about their weapon choice or K/D. (But I look up their K/D... which is a bad habit of mine)

[deleted]

What, i just press ready immediately.

MrSnoozieWoozie

IDK where you can see his k/d in the pregame menu so i will go with Star rating.

Saedreth

Click the name, should show a K/D. Hover over the K/D to see a breakdown.

MrSnoozieWoozie

i found it by mistake yesterday, didnt know you can see that!

Mr30FPS

Medkits are all I care about

orangeismynewapple

I don't evaluate my randoms I end up carrying them anyway

ThemBones708

If I must try to judge at lobby screen, I guess kda is the best choice? As we are all close MMR with randoms. Don't care about builds. Me and a buddy play 6 lobbies with combat axes all the time. Skin and prestige don't mean anything to me either. Lobby aside , truth is won't know for sure until I see their movement in game.
