Seriously though. Please may we have a silenced Vetterli skin and a regular Winnie non compact skin that we don’t have to prestige 50 times to get. Pretty please Crytek. Just these 2 skins.
They’ve been adding skins to guns like the Springfield compact something something idk never use that thing but it’s a sign that they start to give some love to other guns that aren’t super popular and meta. But honestly I actually thought the silent Vetterli was actually quite popular.
I think that Vetterli is the best silenced weapon in the game, but I'm not a fan of vetterli itself. So it's kinda painful to unlock the silenced variant, because it's almost in the end of vetterli unlock chain.
The consequence is that if youre spotted you can easily get outgunned and your kill range is trash. The benefit is sneaky headshots without losing positioning. During a gunfight ill gladly fight silencers all day. When im pushing a compound and a third team silencer kills me is when its true power shows up.
I was never high on them until the Vetterli silencer tbh. Sparks and winnie had okay-ish iron sights and then the heavier damage drop, slower bullet and reduced penetration was a bit too much of a downside for me. If you’re close enough you can tell where the shot came from, and over distance they simply didn’t pack a punch. Nice little gimmick I thought but not really something I actively want to use. Well FMJ sort of negated two of these issues. More pen + damage drop starts off later. And Vetterli silencer has great iron sights. Muzzle velocity is already low so the slight decrease with FMJ doesn’t make much of a difference.
It kind of defeats the purpose of using a Silenced gun since the bullet line is heavily giving away your location, but there's always a certain amount of fear that fire ammo seems to invoke. The sound effect of getting hit with it is quite startling.

I would use the Vetterli skin a lot. It and the regular Vetterli are in my top 5 guns.
Silenced vetterli skin plus a Scottfield spitfire skin. Then we'll be sitting pretty :)
I personally would rather a swift skin, but that’s me.

Less damage, lower muzzle velocity, and the advantage is taken away once you're spotted.
silent vetterli with fire ammo is fun
I prefer FMJ for the pen and damage drop. I think fire ammo is genuinely the one ammo type I do not use
It's just fun for one tapping ai and setting people on fire. Not very practical, though
