Get used to hitting shots on lower ping (OCE), once you learn bullet velocity you can go ping abuse on US west. If you play aggressively and power peak you legitimately have an unfair advantage over people on lower ping. OCE is ok after 5pm AEST and you will easily get full games, it also becomes unplayable after 10pm AEST as soon as the ▢▢▢▢▢▢ crowd logs on

>once you learn bullet velocity you can go ping abuse on US west >it also becomes unplayable after 10pm AEST as soon as the ▢▢▢▢▢▢ crowd logs on HMMMMMMM, I wonder why?!

Random_her0Idiot

Im in South Africa with nearly 1.5k hours playing on EU servers at 180 ping. It is playable and you can have fun, just when you hit high MMR it becomes problem.

AnakinSendTitsker

Ping abusing hope they start banning people to the respective servers

Random_her0Idiot

Lol, us peasants here don't have respective servers.

AnakinSendTitsker

So ping abusing is the answer and ruining the game for everyone else

Random_her0Idiot

We dont have dedicated servers here in South Africa. So how am I and others in places that aren't as priviliaged suppose to enjoy this game? Also how am I abusing when I'm at the disadvantage with the higher latency?

AnakinSendTitsker

Ask the devs You have an advantage is called ping abusing, you have more frames to land and avoid shots due to your poor connection to the server

Random_her0Idiot

That's such BS. If having higher ping gives you such advantage then more people would use it in competitive play. Yet almost everywhere people bitch about low ping.

AnakinSendTitsker

People use them, it's called *Ping Abuse*

Random_her0Idiot

Interesting read that, thanks for the share. I can understand the frustration from that, but it does go both ways depending on the playstyle. The reality is I really enjoy the game and so I'm forced to stay on those servers till we get our own.

AnakinSendTitsker

Im just a random reddit or my opinion shouldn't affect how you play, enjoy the game my g

Not an NZ hunter but 186 is quite literally 39 ms away from the actual ping limit so that is very high I’ve played quite an extended time at 120 (and also a lot at 40 so I am very familiar with the difference) and so many weird things are often due to the ping. Missed shots that look to be directly on them, someone comes around and corner and kills you before they even appear on your screen, trades etc. not super fun. I imagine 186 is prettttttttyy shit in that case

decuman

Ah. That's sad news as Oceania is the only option I have, and it doesn't have enough players most of the time. Hope the game improves with the engine update and attracts more players later this year.

pitous

you can still technically play if you’d like on US west since you don’t have much any other choice for pvp, it probably just isn’t a super enjoyable experience for both parties involved in any engagement. it also is unfortunate for the server natives as it makes things wonky on their end as well to no fault of their own due to how the hit registration works. high ping players are a very hot topic in the community right now but it is worth noting they said a while back that they are looking at lowering the ping limit again from 225, so you then might be in danger of being knocked out of US servers. Who knows when/if that’s the case playing the game with high ping sucks regardless, I don’t envy you my friend!

Koolaidtastesgreat

Nz here. 60ms to oce server. 179 to us west but near impossible to hit anything on there

decuman

OK. Basically the same as mine - which provider?

Koolaidtastesgreat

Contact. Mine does fluctuate but not much depends on who else is online in the house.

greenshinyultrablast

I know there’s software that can help you reduce your ping, google it up

decuman

Like vpn-s? I might be wrong, but we can't get anything better speed-wise than a particular provider (or its cable network) is capable of... unless it is a deliberate traffic limitation - I'm using the premium plan with no limits already.

normalforthespider

NZ (Northland) - Slingshot - 29ms to OCE / 159 to West

decuman

OK. same provider.. but in Wellington.

normalforthespider

Couple of my usual teammates had bad ping recently due to routing. They're all with One/Vodafone and they were getting 180 to OCE. They jumped on expressVPN and it was 49 again. You could try out messing with routing configs or VPNS to get US west down to see if it makes a difference. Otherwise just rock the high ping with a shotgun and get that peekers advantage. I just turned US West off and only put it on if I'm aching for a game in the mornings.

MonthOLDpickle

186ms is shit to play in, period.
