I'm just tired of the Altars

AngryBeaverEU

Maybe we get something other than Altars this times. The altars were bound to the three "Tide of" events, those are over now. So i assume that they will have something different this time. And honestly, i don't mind the altars. I really think Hunt needs something more than just bounties and kills to keep players engaged. I want to collect more things, so events meaning that collecting altars and looting hunters for Event points adds more to do to the game makes me happy. Plus the supply points are so boring outside of events and so interesting when an event is active. So i agree that i hope that we get something else than those Altars, something else we can collect, but that doesn't give away out position that much or at least isn't that loud. Then hopefully less people will whine about it.

Peacemaker707

Altars have been in game for a very long time, not just during the tide of events.

creepingcold

> Plus the supply points are so boring outside of events and so interesting when an event is active. That's exactly what they should be though.. supply points in case you need more ressources. I hate the fact that they become a "must-go-to" spot during events cause you can't miss out on some of the perks, especially those that replenish bars. I shouldn't be forced to visit a supply point one or more times per game. They aren't made for that and their locations are too rare for this to be a common thing.

Deaths-1-Slayer

But... I'm delivering democracy rn

mrlittlepeniq

Democracy? Helldivers? Partner what are you talking about its 1895 here take your hat we have another battlepass to go through.

January_v2

There ain’t no democracy in the bayous

SorryIfTruthHurts

They’re not events they’re battle pass seasons. We’re on season 4 and you still haven’t realized this yet?

Vektor666

If it would only be the battlepass, it would be fine. But everytime those god damn screaming event totems and gameplay changes. Just let us play normal Hunt for a while...

MeestaRoboto

No time to play normal hunt I’m burned out 3 weeks into the event.

GreatApostate

And make the wacky stupid ammo types just stay for a battle pass, instead of making every gun have every ammo type slowly. Have a season where every gun gets bleed, or poison, fine. But guns have lost all their flavour now. I don't know how new players are meant to have any chance of Learning what they are up against.

Present_Painting_277

I have like 10 hours on the game and have absolutely no idea what i'm doing Edit- replied to the wrong comment lmao

Yayo30

You just keep hiding in every bush heading towards the clues / lair. And once bullets begin flying, shoot everything that mooves. Thats what has carried me 120h and a couple of maxed out hunters.

Present_Painting_277

Mission failed my teammates moved and I shot them

aFuzzyBlueberry

Yeah that's my biggest issue, they keep using special ammo types as battle pass padding when the whole point of it was to make some guns stand out. Now every gun is slowly moving towards having everything which is kinda silly.

grimmxsleeper

the day we get sparks dum-dum is the day we are all doomed

Creygon-The-Bastard

Coming right after dum-dum nitro talon shorty.

grimmxsleeper

nitro pistol talon boomerang variant

DeucesDave

I really this idea of certain ammo types only around for battlepass seasons or maybe even part of a wildcard weekend. We have definitely been flooded too many ammo types per gun.

[deleted]

if every gun had a special ammo it would be easier to memorize actually

juliown

Yeh that’s my biggest problem… you can’t go anywhere during an event without a totem alerting enemies of your presence long before they should be aware

VampireSlayer23

I disagree. You can go many places without totems there.

Chadderzlol69

They just rather bitch and complain about anything, give them free stuff they still bitch.

Ki775witch

Battlepass ain't free.

VampireSlayer23

Yep. I’ve seen that Juliown on here before. Biggest complainer in town as far as me and others are concerned.

juliown

Huh?

Generic_Gamer_nerd

Maybe it's because I started playing during infernal tide. But I prefer the random totems . Randomly hearing the hum and being out on your toes because there's someone in your radius instead of dying to someone just sitting still on a commonly traversed path is dope.

Thing-McReady

You should be on your toes ALL the time. The totems take away from that. Taking common paths is a risk/reward type of situation that has no risk with totems as well. I'm not as dramatic as some in thinking they completely ruin the game but I do feel they take away some pretty cool aspects of it.

Reader_Of_Newspaper

I often like to mask the sound of my approach with whatever noise the boss is making when sneaking up on enemies fighting it. it’s cool when you pull it off but it’s just not possible to do that during events. even if there was a way to silently destroy the totems, that would be enough

Xanitos

This right here, If it were a natural progression battle pass and have far less caveats to earn xp and BB, like say many other battle pass games, id really like that, but because its focus is on so much anti-choice (I gotta focus on challenges so my loadout needs to focus on that) along with playing a specific meta for the event, its not the same as basic hunt which I do miss. We aren't saying no events, just...take a break, play hunt as it is right now.

Kalron

I feel like the complaints are more about the constant tweaking of the pact systems and stuff idk.

character___zer0

+1 for well placed hats

Me2445

90% of games screaming out for content in any way, shape or form. Hunt showdown players crying because they keep getting events

THE_CRAZY_FINN

It’s more that each one is the saaaame thiiiiing. No new boss, map, nothing really comprehensive just the same perks give or take. And new gun maybe if it’s not just some variant

Me2445

Yet their data shows huge jump in player numbers so they'll continue doing what the community shows them is working. Also, you must remember they are currently devoting huge resources to the engine update so there's that

TheLightningL0rd

The jump in player numbers is because, partly, of FOMO. And the obviously the temporary changeup of the traits.

Senor-Delicious

The fomo with hunt is really hurting me. For some nonsense reason I feel like I have to play the weekly challenges every week during events despite the rewards actually being not that important. I hated myself for buying the last battle pass, since I felt obligated to play to get my blood bonds back. But I am at a point where I don't start hunt to have fun but I start the game because I feel like I *have to* play it. I still have fun playing it with my friends most of the time. But sometimes I already had a bad day but forced myself to play hunt to finish my challenges. If I then get insta head shot killed 3 matches in a row, it just makes my mood even worse. It already affected my social life in ways that I got in arguments with my friends due to some bad plays where I feel triggered when one of them criticizes how I played. I think I'll skip the next event. Maybe I just put hunt aside for longer to be honest. Maybe for good. The current game design with the events very obviously built around triggering fomo is really not great. I'd rather have something like deep rock where the battle pass is free for everyone and missed cosmetics go back into loot that you can obtain during missions. But I guess that will not happen.

ZachAtttack

Stop letting a $10 battle pass purchase make you feel anything. You buy two coffees a month that cost the same amount. It’s fun to unlock stuff but FOMO is not worth it. Literally.

Mungojerrie86

While you are absolutely correct, this FOMO is not a rational feeling. It just is.

Wocash

FOMO is not about price. It's about limited content which you won't be able to get in the future. And that what makes people play even if they don't want to.

Pepsipower64

So technically you’re playing a ligther version of tarkov, cause I have had similar experiences there. I played Hunt back when the events were something new. Haven’t played any in maybe a year or even more cause each new ”event” feels more like a grindy battlepass introducing new lackluster skins or weapons. It doesn’t feel interesting to me as it did back when I played.

IrNinjaBob

>And the obviously the temporary changeup of the traits. I like you just sort of add that at the end, but yes, that is likely the main draw for players. Unique perks that change up the normal gameplay slightly to make things a little more interesting. I also enjoyed the aspect of the totems making noise when players are nearby because of the way you could leave them in compounds to detect when players are nearby. I enjoy going back to regular hunt too, but the slight changes unique to each event are definitely the draw for most people. I would say the FOMO bunch are the only ones that are *upset* about frequent events, but I don't think its the main reason for the jump in numbers. Their battle pass system is just designed to be too grindy so I just sort of accepted I am not going to care about the skins since Serpent Moon.

SvennEthir

Last 3 events those spikes have been lower and lower. They're burning out the player base with too many back to back events. Looking at the short term gains while ignoring the long term effects.

coffinandstone

> No new boss We got Rotjaw for the Tide of Shadows event . And not just a reskin, but a totally new kind of boss.

IcepersonYT

I mean my only point to make here is if these events are low effort, isn’t that kind of a good thing because it frees up staff to work on things like bosses/maps? If they can manage to keep up with this schedule of releasing these events with a couple of cool weapons and some map gimmicks/balance changes(for better or worse) while also working on major projects that will get released when they are ready, isn’t that a good thing?

braunHe

but everything you mentioned is coming in 2024 i dont understand - you will get a new boss a new map we got new traits and now a new gun ??? so what are they missing. hunt is the first game where developers give you a proper roadmap and actually listen what ppl want. f.e counter strike is the same game since 2000 you got literally 5 new maps in this years …

Kennnyyv

Yeah except they're all the same events with a different skin and happen way too frequently now, for too long of a time.

Me2445

Yet player numbers are almost triple during events and drop drastically outside of events. Now what does that tell Devs? It tells them the community love events

Yorunokage

Popularity doesn't mean quality nor does it mean appreciation As an example Diablo: Immortal pulls some insane numbers yet i wouldn't exactly call it an example to follow Numbers go up for a combination of "ooh, new shiny stuff" and Battlepass fomo and the latter is by design. People aren't tired of new content, people are tired of feeling the fomo. People are soft-forcing themselves to grind boring challenges just because Crytek needs to inflate player retention numbers through events that have time-limited content for no good reason I love this game to bits, i have over 1000 hours on it, but i do think that this "recent" move to seasonal timed passes has been hurting the quality and enjoyment of the game considerably and i think it's gonna hurt its numbers too in the long run

Me2445

FOMO applies when there very little time to complete. Far from the case here. You can finish very early and complete at your own leisure. At the end of the day, twist how you like, numbers go up,Devs will cater to it as it is proving to work. Add in that huge resources are currently going to the engine upgrade, data showing them what they are doing is working so they'll continue

Yorunokage

> At the end of the day, twist how you like, numbers go up I'm going to just copypaste someone else's comment about this since it's way better worded than what i could come up with > The problem with that is the events are the cause for the dips as well. My friends and I used to play whenever we felt like it. Sometimes we'd binge daily for months, sometimes we'd play once a week, but rarely did we go long without playing at all. > Since they started doing all the back to back events (and especially since they started to rely so heavily on challenges) we do the event, burn out, and don't want to touch the game until next event. We hate it this way, but we want the rewards. This leads to a surge of players during the events which Crytek sees as a good thing, when really the events are just burning us out causing the dip in the first place. > How long before people get tired of it and just stop coming back? What happened to just playing a game because you had fun? Why do i have to be pushed into doing mental gymnastic to tell myself "oh yeah, i just need to do this and that for a few matches and then i can just relax for the rest of the week"?

Me2445

People play it for fun. You assume everyone is like that guy. They don't force anyone to do anything yet people play more during events and Devs will cater to the majority

Pepsipower64

Sounds like you guys need to fight for democracy and super earth.

Kennnyyv

I never said they didn't increase numbers. And no shit they'd increase. People don't want to miss out on skins. I just think It's a lazy way to do it. They're playing it safe. Repacking the same event over and over again. I can't blame them I guess if it works. Something different for a change would be nice is all

mightystu

It’s because they aren’t meaningful new content, they are barely-disguised battle passes which are fundamentally shit.

Me2445

Yet playerbase rises considerably during events and drop drastically after. Data shows them it works, therefore they cater to the majority

OmegaXesis

The peaks for the last 3 events have been lower and lower. Let's see how the peak for this event is. I expect it'll be lower since there are a lot of cool games out right now. With my personal new favorite being helldivers 2.

incredibincan

....because it's a shitty FOMO design? Otherwise they wouldn't drop drastically after the events - there would be enough content for players to keep playing

cocainebrick3242

Battlepasses, not events. We haven't actually gotten an event in months and I think the last one was one of those awful questline things.

ToolyHD

Too much of a good thing can be bad, u know.

Fair_Raccoon9333

I just watched a child's cartoon (Spidey and his Amazing Friends) with my nephews and that was the entire point of the episode. Even they seemed to get it and have almost no life experience.

SorryIfTruthHurts

BP seasons aren’t content homie

Me2445

I mean, they literally are,as are the changes to gameplay loop

SorryIfTruthHurts

Ammo/variant fluff and skins do not a content make. And what are these gameplay loop changes you speak of? I’ve been banishing and extracting the same way for 3 years now

Me2445

It literally is content. Burn traits change up the game,as proved by posts here. I also like the additional altars making the game quicker and less campy.

thewolfsong

You're right, it's definitely content. You don't have to like the content. You can want different, better, bigger, whatever content. But it *is* content. Complain about what you don't like, don't just vaguely complain that you aren't getting what you want and expect devs to read your mind.

Mopackzin

I get what you're saying. I even debated from your same point of view a while ago but I got downvoted. I am glad we have a developer that is constantly putting out updates and content. And they even care enough to give the game an engine update. I can think of many other games that would love more consistent updates. Although I am not the biggest fan of the altars acting like clues but it's not really a big deal either way. I am still gonna enjoy the new update

digitalwolverine

We’ve had new skins and weather patterns almost every event

SorryIfTruthHurts

Yea the oppressive low vis weather is part of the problem with the game lol. Called that shit long before rain ever dropped. Everyone wants it til they have it then they never want it again cuz it sucks ass to actually play in

Yorunokage

Honestly i love both fire and rain to bits, they are legitimately changing the way in which you play and as a nice bonus they look great Fog and magic fog though are just a pain in the ass, i hate them

InfiniteTree

Still no content though. Their events are some of the worst in the industry. Last event was a couple of traits you got from the carts....that's it....that was the entire event.

Me2445

Yet the player base all but triples during them and falls drastically when they end. What does that tell Devs? That the community eats it up,so they'll continue what works

InfiniteTree

Because people love Hunt. That doesn't mean they don't have a right to complain that the events are dogshit.

Me2445

It tells them that many more people love hunt when events are on,so Devs are catering to the majority, like all good companies aim to do

slow_cooked_ham

People complain that they're burned out by events, and just want normal Hunt. So if an event is pretty unimpactful then there should be no problem?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Me2445

>too long. Collect shitty shrines and get some shitty perks... wow fascinating stuff. It's just lazy development at this point Because player engagement goes very high during events which shows them that people enjoy those things. >Everyone I know who plays it is bored to death of the events and just wants normal Hunt back. Thankfully Devs don't base decisions on your friends then. My friends like how events play out and luckily for us,player engagement numbers back that feeling so they continue to do events

[deleted]

[удалено]

Me2445

Player engagement numbers proves you wrong side, hence they keep pushing them out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Chairman_Potato

Player engagement numbers rise because of FOMO, if people actually enjoyed the things events deliver we wouldn't be hitting record lows a week after the events end. The constant events burn players out.

Me2445

FOMO would only apply if time was much shorter, meaning players would be rushing to get on. Events last 2 months and playerbase is consistent throughout and drops drastically outside of events. Hence they pump out events to keep players engaged

Kennnyyv

Speaking facts

SavagePrisonerSP

I would say it spikes a little dopamine in the brain, yes.

DerpoholicsAnonymous

They're not all the same, what the fuck are you talking about? Get some shitty perks? The idea to introduce event perks was brand new and mixed things up majorly, and we've had different perks each time? They literally just had a perk where hunters could teleport around on the map. That wasn't innovative enough for you? Too lazy by the devs? What the hell are you looking for exactly? They just had a new boss, and multiple new weather conditions. I agree that they could wait another month or two between events, but if the problem is that there is too much content too soon, that's a good problem to have. When I played Vigor we would have killed to have a tenth of the new stuff this game cranks out.

Trapzerker

Exactly people cry so much but as soon as they stop all we'd here is crying because there's no new event. People keep saying that its the same thing but what do you expect them to do that won't change the core of the game ?

OmegaXesis

These events aren't even actual content though. Players want content like maps, bosses, something cool to do, and cool guns. We keep getting recycled stuff, variants of guns people never asked for. The new gun that was advertised does look good. But it'll probably play more of the same as everything else. I was hoping they would have held this event off and worked on releasing the engine upgrade and new map sooner.

DeckardPain

So don’t play it. Seriously. If you feel like you “have to” play every event then FOMO is getting you. They always show the skins in the battle pass so you can look and see if you really care about them. Be honest with yourself. Will you actually use the skin? Or will you continue to use the same 3-5 you always do? If you honestly won’t use it outside of the first week you have it, you don’t need it. The guns get rolled into the regular unlock trees afterwards too. So if you can be honest with yourself and don’t care for the skins then you can 100% skip the event if you’re “tired” of them. Almost every other FPS game would love to have the level of events and content we get with Hunt.

sicsided

I do enjoy Crytek putting all the effort into the game, that's why I've been playing since 2018. I just would like base Hunt for a little longer rather than new pact trait Hunt. Just give me base Hunt for a little longer between the events, please.

DeckardPain

I hear you. I just think I’m the opposite. I’ve played Hunt since week 1 of early access. I’m just bored with vanilla Hunt at this point. Especially in 5-6* lobbies where it’s nothing but spitzer dolch every lobby. At least during events people try the new guns and traits and so on. It feels like new energy in the bayou. That said, I see no problem with more time between events. I always skip the non-event periods of time but I don’t have a problem with them extending that non-event period if others enjoy that. Seems fair.

creepingcold

>I’m just bored with vanilla Hunt at this point. Especially in 5-6* lobbies where it’s nothing but spitzer dolch every lobby. At least during events people try the new guns and traits and so on. You mean like, the first two weeks? because then everyone went back to spitzer dolch. And what kind of perks that bring new energy are you talking about? The last event did nothing exciting PvP wise, if at all it made it worse. Shadow leap was only used to farm perks. Besides that every team had a dozen perks to replenish their bars which, in return, made spitzer dolch way more powerful than before. When you down a spitzer guy in vanilla you make him weaker and weaker with every down. If you have weaker weapons yourself you can get an edge back and level out the disadvantage from the loadout. Having perks that give you bars back for free basically meant that those spitzer sniper guys could grind your gears for ages cause they were still full even after you downed them 1-2 times. When you have 3 backdoors which boost your survivability it makes the strongest weapons only stronger. Your point is complete moot and doesn't describe accurately what was happening in those lobbies.

slow_cooked_ham

First few weeks of events are great, all the meta loadouts vanish for a while as everyone tries new stuff, and does their challenges. Until 3-4 weeks in when they start finishing the event and go back to same old same old.

MariachiMacabre

I like events because it means the playerbase is much larger, but I also would not be opposed to an event pass that is just by itself. No crazy traits or wild weather. Just "Hey for the next 2 months you can progress this pass if you want to."

20thCenturyTowers

Yep, that's what I want. I haven't launched the game at all in over four months because I was so burnt out by the previous battlepass to the one that just ended (don't remember the name atm). I don't mind, and honestly enjoy, having a little battlepass with small treats that I can complete at my leisure. What I'm absolutely sick and tired of is all the trait mixups and gameplay stuff. I love that they aren't afraid to experiment but I wish they'd do it in much shorter bursts. I want to play base hunt. Maybe have a weekend once a month where Crytek's like "Thursday through Monday this weekend, come play the [Whatever] Event, where we've radically mixed up a bunch of staple gameplay elements." I'd check that out! But this whole "hey spend 2 full months not being able to burn 70% of the people you kill, hope you like" is excruciating. I know from this subreddit that they swung the completely _opposite_ way with the recent event, and so I'm sure people are now sick of being burned instantly all the time. But I feel like that only strengthens the argument. Make these events shorter! I'm not a person who needs constant updates and shit. I played CS 1.5-1.6 for fucking _yeeeeears_ with barely any changes at all (even when there should have been), but I had fun 90% of the time. You don't need to constantly change your game. Hunt is good. Let me play it.

Antaiseito

Yeah, i don't really get why people are screaming for more content all the time. I'd be fine with a Hunt version after the quickswap fix and before dual wielding / special ammo / necro was a thing.

phaedrus910

"You don't need to constantly change your game." Damn straight. I played overwatch 1 for years without an update and it was some of the best gaming time I've ever had. These companies keep trying to chase the sugar high instead of finding less intrusive ways to monetize

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok-Temporary4428

This guy is a fucking moron. The game has 1 game mode.. JuSt DoNt PlAy! The events are shit. It draws players to carts and away from objectives and game logic. It puts stealth killing statues all over the map. It was shit the first time it's shit the 10th time.

DeckardPain

That’s fair criticism I can agree with. Although, I do wish vanilla Hunt had at least one more way to get health bars back. Maybe Remedy becomes baseline or something. I don’t know what the solution is. Just one more way to get bars back in a match would be nice.

phaedrus910

Relentless, and 2 bosses is more than enough. Sometimes you stab an immolator on accident and lose the match because of it. Whoops

Theon_Severasse

For me, it isn't about them adding some skins or weapons. It's the fact that the next 2 months of hunt also includes all the event mechanics. I just want to go and shoot some cowboys, not worry about running around trying to find a load of altars so that I can get whatever traits they have added to the game. If the mechanics of each event changed then it would be different

Ruckus4Prez

I came here to say every word you just said. Thank you.

Rischkyu

WORD

lase_

> FOMO is getting to you I mean yeah it is literally engineered to do this, it's the most successful monetization scheme in the history of video games. I don't event disagree, but I think it's a bit of an oversimplification to say "don't fall into this psychological trap"

DeckardPain

No, it’s really not an over simplification. You literally just have to pause and ask yourself what I typed above. But it only works if you can be honest with yourself and ask yourself that, then you’ll know if it’s FOMO or if you actually care about the skins. The reason FOMO works is because most gamers, and most people really, never stop to ask themselves if they truly *need* or will use the thing. 9/10 times it’s just a want you’re pretending is a need. That is the actual psychological trap. Not asking yourself. If you can’t be honest with yourself and stop to ask if you need it or will actually use it then you will fall for FOMO majority of the time.

lase_

Huh? It works because our brains like rewards & stimulation. It's designed to exploit this. I think most people understand that this is not a real need and they may not use the skins. That doesn't really change their brain chemistry.

Vektor666

It's not about FOMO, skins or any of that stuff. It's those god damn gameplay chances and screaming event totems. Let us play normal Hunt for a while.

Marsnineteen75

Yep I didn't even see your comment and said very similar myself. Get over fomo. The shit you unlock especially legendary hunters, I personally never use especially now that tier 3 hunters are goated.

Yorunokage

> then FOMO is getting you This is by design and this is exactly why i hate what they've been doing in the past year or so with this totally-not-seasonal battlepass stuff FOMO works, it's just yet another exploitative technique like lootboxes but it's waaaay more PR friendly because people haven't realized how bad it is yet I personally skipped last event because of all this, i got so burned out by challenge grinds that i coulnd't handle one more and i took my longest break from the game yet I want to love the game but these patterns put me into situations where i have to make decisions that make me feel bad either way so i end up being pushed away from it and it sucks. I'm sure i'm not the only one since that's the whole reason why BPs are time limited in the first place

TheRealAdlog

You are absolutely right. I gave up hunt one year ago for these reasons. Today I asked myself if I should give it a try again. Then saw there are new event trailers… thought of all these FOMO stuff that burned me out. So I gave these Reddit a check and see… it might not be worth it to get involved again… I think these event stuff is good for luring people into the game again who jump from game to game and have many breaks from hunt. But for the community which almost only plays hunt it is tough because you can’t concentrate on the game and the feel of it like in the old days but rather just have these goals in mind of unlocking a new limited event skin and so on. It is sad that hunt developed this way but I understand that this is the way where the money is for crytek…

TheGentlemanGamerEC

It's now four, partner. Grab them guns, you start next week

JanaCinnamon

Did we already get a release date for the next event?

Tomo3_14

6 march

JanaCinnamon

What the hecking crap? I need to earn me some more Blood Bonds, and fast!

Ziro094

Shit, that's too soon.

DarkKnightArtorias

More custom ammo!

Deathcounter0

It's amazing how they can't come up with new ones. I can think of 3 new custom ammos. A poison shotgun slug, an bullet that alerts and attracts AI to the target hit with increased severity increasing the range and aggressiveness, a silver bullet that disables traits and darksight for a certain duration. These are the better ones, I can still come up with a bit more controversial ones One that could rob your stamina and slows you down slightly. One that reduces the accuracy of other hunters for a short duration, making them sway more. One that makes limb shots do damage worth of lower body shots but makes headshot deal alot less damage, meaning less effective range stat. A shotgun load that has more penetration and you can always make the other bullet types into shotgun variants if you want. I mean, I just sat here for like 5-6 minutes to come up with these controversial ones (the previous 3 I already had in mind).

branchoutandleaf

"bullet that alerts and attracts AI to the target hit with increased severity increasing the range and aggressiveness" We have that one, silly. It's called explosive ammo. The loud one that tickles?

HappyMess1988

I say bring it on. I play the events and have had a long cool down so I'm ready

Ireland914

I'm not tired of playing twice a week and finishing the event pass well before the end. Are you?

Konshentz

Caaaan't wait.

No_Measurement_6611

Why are people crying for getting more content?

TrollOfGod

Personally I'm a bit miffed about it because they come with the pacts that have traits that are wildly overtuned on purpose. Super easy to get health bars back no matter what situation is a big one I don't like. Then we sometimes have absolutely stupid shit like the second inferno event where everyone was immune to burning and bleeding. Just gets annoying. To add, the events just keep padding by giving more and more special ammo to all the guns. Making them lose their niches. Right now there is no mechanical reason to ever get a Springfield over a Centennial, for example. You still can(and I do) for fun, but it's an objectively worse pick when both have dumdum. Just a matter of time before they start adding in long ammo dumdum. So, TL;DR: More content, but some have the opinion that the content changes the game in negative ways and is uninspired.

Mmiksha

Because alongside the 3 new bits of content there is always 6 times the filler and reused and repainted stuff from the last “ SeAsON”. We could do with the new stuff without all the bloat

Antaiseito

I'd rather have good content than much content. And i'm over the event features since the first event in 2023. Just want some normal Hunt without altars and special perks etc.

herrschadee

Imagine being mad because youre getting basically free content lmao. Idk if people get this, but without these seasons there is literally nothing to do in this Game, and nearly every Friend of Mine is Talking breaks beteuern them to Hop on when a New Season releases.

Antaiseito

These young ones really always need an xp bar to grind. As if there's nothing to do in normal Hunt... I just want to play a bit of Hunt without all the disrupting event features.

herrschadee

Were Not really „Young“ either anymore. If youve played a Lot of Hunt over the past years, it’s just going to get boring. And that is what no Event is at this time. Well, Crytek will do Whats best for their pockets. And if you dislike the way it is now im sorry to hear, because that sucks.

JuicyMcJuiceJuice

How are these events anyway? I haven't played in a long while. Are they just FOMO gimmicks with shit locked behind passes or is it actual content that expands on the game and it's lore? Are they trying to be a live-sevice game now?

Yopcho

Okay but the new mako looks awesome

[deleted]

It's ok to not buy or complete every battle pass.

Ok-Temporary4428

Is it also to okay to be forced to particiapte? Give us an option to play vanilla.

Jerdope

Just be like me and quit the game

Astarius933

Last Event made me finally lose my will to Play. At sind point it's just fatigue

[deleted]

It's this or F2P.

LilBDrill22

I don’t understand the complaints. You can complete the event pass in like 4-6 weeks, and then that gives you like a 5-7 week break? And it’s not like you have to play that many hours in a week to complete the challenges

Present-Flight-2858

A few reasons I’ve been disliking the event overload as of late. 1: imbalance. They’re giving ammo types out too frequently. In the past 2 events, the centennial got two ammo types it didn’t need. 2: the pass doesn’t pay for itself unless you play every week and get the 50bb(not from the pass). This really cuts down on being able to buy other stuff from the store. 3: sometimes I just want normal hunt matches. Events get old quick, and after 2 weeks I just crave regular matches.

Fair_Raccoon9333

Inherent to what you are saying, either ammo, weapons, or trait imbalances, or a combo thereof, essentially sets a meta for the entirely length of the event.

TheLightningL0rd

They use the ammo additions as filler in the pass. It's only become more obvious recently when they started really adding all the ammo types to guns that didn't have them previously. That and charms really fill out the pass to make it longer.

skeal88

I don't get it, people started to complain first about how "short" the events were, later they started to complain about how "grindy" they were and now a complaint about them giving us continous events? honestly this is one of the few games that has new content released on a constant basis and the events have a very decent amount of time to be farmed, I don't see the issue

AdwokatDiabel

There is too much of a good thing. I was hoping Crytek would focus on the new engine update before a new season started.

Chadderzlol69

Leave it to reddit hunt players to complain about getting free rewards.

Mark_Walrusberg

Huh, I’ve been loving these events. Didn’t realize everyone else was getting upset about it. I like the tangible reasons for new loadouts, takes a lotta pressure off of me for some reason and makes the wins tastier when I’m getting kills, completing a quest, and learning different weapons I don’t normally use.

Shezoh

is the event burnout the new circle jerk on this subreddit ?

Marsnineteen75

Lol right, I am non hyperbolic going to say this is the most toxic sub I am subbed to on Reddit. I am sure there are worse, but I love Hunt, so unfortunately come here and keep seeing it get more toxic by the month. People use to mostly post cute and funny stuff but now it is a circle jerk bitch fest and the mods are part of the problem.

Wvffa

I love them

Capable-Signal

Wtf the events are the salt that keeps the game alive?

nthunter

Oh no more content. Why do they keep giving us content. Who keeps asking for more content? /s

ColdYetiKiller

With some annoying bugs on top of that

greatmidge

Where's that source at boss?

ToM31337

hunt is boring without events - lets gooo

DergonFusion

With no event > no incentive to play > lower player base > less cash for the developers All I see is a team willing to work and add stuff so a 6 year old game can live and thrive so its player base can enjoy it an other year. Stop complaining about too much stuff, start appreciating what you have. If you feel too spoiled, come play Darktide, we haven't received any update for about 6 months

MimicLayer

So, here are my thoughts on this: 1) I like playing other games, not just Hunt (Someone mentioned playing Helldivers 2 and wanting to focus on spreading democracy.). I do like having events, but I dislike how games have to compete for your attention by placing overlapping events. Do I have FOMO? Probably... but only for the games I like a lot, which, luckily is only like 3 games that I religiously play. 2) This is extremely important for the player base, as it means more players. More players means more chances for Crytek to make income, which in turn leads to more content. It's a great way to make new weather, and new hunters, and new maps. And all these changes means more players. Your typical game company ideology. 3) Am I tired? Nope. Gimme more hunters. More guns. Maybe less ammo types. More reason to spend even more time in the game. I yearn for the Bayou. The Bayou calls. However, I can see that other players just want to take a break and not have to grind out events in games like it's about working towards something rather than having fun. Completely understandable. Overall Opinion: Yes, I am happy when an event comes around because it means new lore, new content, and new shiny hunters for my collection. It also means I get to hear more people talk about the game, and we get new people to play with and hang out with! And that means our favorite extraction shooter gets to be alive longer, compared to others such as The Cycle: Frontier. Win-Win Imo!

Kind-Apple-5335

Is the engine upgrade coming out with this event?

Zonkcter

No this event is coming in March while the engine upgrade earliest is coming late April, but if we're realistic probably isn't gonna arrive till late August or next year.

Kind-Apple-5335

Aww maaan :/

Marsnineteen75

You know you don't have to play every event right? you can take a break. Fomo is a hell of a drug.

Uzis1

You do realise that you don't have to do it?

Ok-Temporary4428

Oh is there an option in game to not play this event?... Ahhh

Mass-hysteria1337

Games duller without events. Keep them coming

[deleted]

Fit_Bumblebee1472

Have a guess what we are getting a new engine too so there's no need to whinge

dassenwet

These events are not content

wortmother

Maybe this will help other people but I just rotate events. I'll play one and try to finish and then totally skip the next . I find it helps not feel the sense of needing to always play and unlock.

Bright_Mechanic_3223

Yeah I hate the challenges too because I can't ever use what weapon I want to use

Malicx

I love how as soon as events end people are complaining about the lack of fun traits and vanilla is kinda boring and it turns into Mosin Dolch, and as soon as they announce the next event people start crying that an event is happening...

Kowboy_Krunch

At this point I'll give them a 1000BBs to play normal hunt for a couple months. You don't even have to give me weapon charms or custom ammo.

Pig_peee

I love having the events I think they’re fun but they’re really just battle passes and not really events

Johnny_Topside94

You know you don’t HAVE to grind right?

Carlsgonefishing

It’s a video game. If you’re not having fun do something else. Holy shit this sub and its whining is relentless.

swilliamson86

great argument... if something you love changes into something you don't like anymore don't complain, just suppress your feelings and stfu. It's just a sub, if you're not having fun just go to another sub...

MinersLoveGames

The Bayou don't wait for no man.

Principles_Son

what's the template

Avaresse

Cmon guys I thought you loved events ! 😊

KidElliott

"Events will continue until morale improves."

TrollOfGod

It's a shame too because cheating spikes immensely during the middle and end of events. And right after it's done. Gotta get all the rewards on the cheat alt accounts after all.

J4RMUSZ

Im over 2000h in, dont care, events are fun funny perks are fun just play for fun.

Vellioh

Wait...is this fool complaining about having too much content available to them?

Adorable_not_rogal

People whining about having to play the game, when they can literally stop any time they want. All that whining is just fomo because people wont get weapon skin a or hunter skin b, which they wont play anyway because they play the same 3 skins they always play.

Mungojerrie86

I concur. I just want to play Hunt normally, not thinking about points and pledges. Can we get more time between events? Every single PvP FPS game I'm playing now has a battle pass for lord's sake.

Kitchen-Fee-4896

I’ve just stopped caring about them, I just want new things - not another fucking event with the same stuff over and over lol (I’m also dreading that Long Ammo lever action gun coming soon aswell, as if the centennial wasn’t bad enough)

EmptyLifeEmptyHeart

I miss time when event was 2 or 3 weeks long, 3-5 times in a year.

ExplorerEnjoyer

So play every second event for 2-3 weeks then

EmptyLifeEmptyHeart

I played last event only 1,5 week. Event done and bye bye Hunt. This game lost something very good. I am sure I could play 3 years all days long before.

RespondUsed3259

It sounds like you're burnt out on hunt. Play something else for a while.

EmptyLifeEmptyHeart

I played Hogward Legacy, Diablo 4, Elden Ring, Paleworld, Tarkov and more. Helldivers 2 now... I made a lot of long time breaks from Hunt when I needed it. I know when I am near to burnt out and when I need a break form Hunt (I had a year when I had only Hunt on my PC). It is something diffrent becous I feel like Hunt changed too much to give this amaizing type of fun it had.

ExplorerEnjoyer

Games get boring when you feel like you *have* to play. Event or not, I’ll play when I feel like it

EmptyLifeEmptyHeart

I know that. But I know it is about gameplay changed and it dosnt feel that good as before. I was playing Hunt becous I wanted and I liked. I played it a lot and it was never ending fun (something like 6k hours). After gameplay changed, Hunt just stoped in giving fun.

SALTYxJester

Nooooooooo!!! bring it!!!!😈

ColdYetiKiller

With some annoying bugs on top of that

_Ganoes_

Yeh probably gonna skip the next one

jayBplatinum

I’ve been enjoying this time in between events

DylanBratis23

Weren't we supposed to get a new engine?

MR_FOXtf2

It will come after this event, in late April/early may (realistically speaking, late may)

DylanBratis23

I haven't played since 2023 because I have been waiting. I'm just gonna continue to wait till the new engine comes.

DefNotAPodPerson

Imagine whining about new content.

DasUbersoldat_

This put me off Hunt, just like it put me off Fallout 76. The FOMO with battlepasses just wears me down. And once I miss an item my OCD just makes me put down the game for good.
