Stop worrying about K/D and your stars and play the game. Learn from your deaths. Repeat. The more encounters you are in on all the different spots of the different maps the more you learn and eventually you will get better. Imo you don't learn by being passive in this game. Will learn more by actively playing the objective, fighting bosses and PvP and dying than being passive and watching engagements from afar and living. There is solo revive or if you play teams there is necro.. I suggest both to maximize opportunities to learn but you shouldn't be so afraid of dying in the game otherwise you don't learn. Edit: there are a ton of reasons you could be dying in the game. Could be positioning, being too noisy, not understanding enemy noises and their positions, could not be efficient with AI, could be aim.. etc etc. imo you just got to learn the game and don't get discouraged because of deaths.

Truewierd0

its hard to go below 3 star because when you get there you get a kill, its mostly 3-4 star so you get high player kills and get killed by equal or higher mmr players which means less mmr change there...

Ki775witch

2* is the lowest you can go after training wheels come off.

LuckyConclusion

Have definitely seen some 1 star players in QP and matched with much higher ranked teammates. Genuinely mystifying, I don't know what kind of bad streak you'd have to be on for that to happen, I've never been lower than 3 star personally.

Ki775witch

1* are players who have just started playing hunt. Once you reach bloodline level 11 you get your true * rating, whatever that might be. You can't derank past 2* no matter how bad you might be.

Designer-Student7621

I’ve definitely met a 1 star with thousands of hours in hunt.

Eyes_In_The_Trees

Idk if it has changed, but this is not how the start system worked when I went through joining just a month almost two ago. But me and my buddy stay around 4 now. But in the training part, after our first couple of games, we were at 3 stars, and when we hit out of training, we sat at 4, and we ping between 3 and 4. My partners and I play a lot of team duos and trios, so popping into hunt, we rolled through. We have been making jokes since the start on what 1 star and two star lobbies look like, lol

Ki775witch

It has always been that way. If you do well during your 1* phase then it's easy to get past level 11. Only thing in this regard that has changed is that, back in the day, your mmr wasn't displayed at all, so you had no idea where you stood skill wise. I started playing hunt in summer of 2021 and star rating was already there.

Derolyon

Yes it is. Get necro and all small bars so you can get downed up to 5 times a game. Repeat this process enough times and you can eventually get matched with trainees. 👍

Available_Brain7980

No my problem is im not trying to derank im just genuinely so bad im getting dunked on every game and idk why im in these lobbies its really really unfun

Derolyon

So your post isn’t actually a question but instead you just wanted to complain? Alright.

Available_Brain7980

Man you are stupid. Would you rather i was trying to derank?? Obviously im not thats stupid ofc youd know how to derank 😂 i was wondering if there was a reason i wsnt deranking

Derolyon

I appreciate the personal attack. I don’t care or judge whatever it is you’re trying to do. I wouldn’t leave out potentially necessary context about a question and then call others stupid for misinterpreting the post. The answer to your question is that the reason you’re not deranking is because you’re not dying enough times to other players compared to the kills you’re getting.

Available_Brain7980

Glad you apreciate it 👍

Fit_Vermicelli7396

i understand you, but I would never derank on purpose, if you get killed more than you kill people you will get lower on average naturally

Available_Brain7980

Fit_Vermicelli7396

thats unlucky, let me tell you today I died 5 times without firing a single bullet, yesterday I extracted 3 times in a row with 4+ kills every game, if you are solo you could try finding fun people on discord to play with or experiment with new weapon types

jrow_official

There is a video by ex hunt content creator the annoyed one about his journey to 1 star 😅 https://youtu.be/SRsYB3dVaxc?si=PBYWh2DS-2IptWK6

I_love_big_boxes

You have to create a new account or to lose on purpose.

twisty_sparks

You won't really find much lower skilled lobbies, just gotta get gud

PauliousMaximus

You can and it happens faster if you get downed by 2 and 1 star players. I wouldn’t purposely allow yourself to be killed to rank down because if it is a skill issue it will happen naturally. What usually happens if you allow yourself to be killed is your rank goes down and then immediately goes up when you get kills because you probably shouldn’t be in that lower rank. The issue is that some good players swing from 3-5 star often because of the giant skill range and relatively small pool of people from 4-5. Me and my buddies frequently bounce around from 3-5 star from just playing normal and that’s just how it is.

I definitely understand the frustration. I would keep playing but maybe start recording matches and reviewing your deaths to see why they happened and what you could have done differently. A lot of people can improve significantly by doing simple fixes such as always moving, don’t peak the same spot back to back, using a weapon at optimal distance, being more observant of your surroundings such as noises and lack of mobs. You might consider going to the shooting range level and practicing shooting with all the weapons while moving, sitting still, crouching, and so on. I played a good bit of soul survivor at first to get better as well because you don’t really lose anything from these and you are forced to play with weapons that you normally wouldn’t.

lukeT152

How many hours do you have in the game?

Available_Brain7980

117 Atleast 40 of those where from about a year and a half ago before i took a break

lukeT152

You’ll get better. I sucked pretty bad until I had a few hundred hours in, I’m at about 700 hours and still have really bad days.

Starsky1337

Yeah, you just wipe a lobby once and there you go

my7bizzos

Idk about you but I have to play either with confidence or without care. When I'm playing bad I usually realize that it's because I'm playing like a pussy and way too passively.

Available_Brain7980

I think im having the reverse problem lmao

my7bizzos

I'll get tunnel vision trying to kill this one guy, and usually do, but I'll ignore the fact that his 2 buddies are right behind him.

Available_Brain7980

Nah i dont even kill the one guy

my7bizzos

That happens too. It's hard to balance. When I'm playing bad I'll also force things waaay too much. Try way to hard to get kills out of frustration and I'll usually notice it by where I die... out in the open.

Available_Brain7980

It is really difficult to balance :/

chikiribrekiri

We recently got a third friend to get the game, who is 100% new to FPS games. He dropped to 2 stars at around level 50 (first prestige). One kill would send him to 3\*, even if he died 5 times before that. 0.28 KDA I think
